Actress Kangana Ranaut, while shooting for a film titled Metro, invited her father and sister on the sets of the film one day, and requested her dad to cook food for the entire crew. Her father very sweetly obliged and made the most delicious pahaadi chicken for the entire team. It’s no wonder then that the crew kept sending an invitation to her father now and then. They may be enjoying his company, but we are sure they enjoy his expertly cooked chicken just as much.

Kamal Sadanah was in dilemma when Amrita Arora opted out of the film after the shooting had already begun. Then, Anupam Kher recommended a new face for the character of Saira Banu and it was none other than Sonia Mehra, daughter of Late Vinod Mehra and Kiran Mehra. Brought up in Kenya, Sonia started her acting training around the age of nine in London Academy of Music and Arts and started learning dance since the age of four. She has also done Anupam Kher’s acting classes.
The aspiring young lady says, “Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to act. I have always been fond of Bollywood and acting”.
For her father, Vinod Mehra, Sonia says, “My father had so much goodwill in the industry. I am confident that people will feel the same affection for me too”. So, its Bollywood calling for Sonia Mehra!!
Watch any shooting in progress and you will see how an actor rushes to the television monitor immediately after a shot to check how the last scene has gone. But Koena Mitra never ever does that. The lady just chills out or prepares for her next scene after a take. And this is not because of over-confidence. Apparently, Koena mitra admits that the moment she sees herself on screen she gets critical and begins to create ‘problems’ for herself. She says that she prefers to go by whatever the director feels about a scene and waits for his opinion, after all who better to judge than the man in command himself. Now that’s logic that can’t be beaten.
It’s intesting how Vidya Balan finds herself on the opposite side many times - being the reporter (as in Salaam-e-ishq) or the radio jockey like in Lage Raho Munnabhai. But the lady seems to be enjoying her stint neverthless. “The journey has been exciting. The character is so much more than the job it performs. So even though I have been a journalist in two of the three films that have released, the character is far more complex than that. But yes, I have enjoyed each of my roles. They have given me tremendous job satisfaction at the end of the day.” So, what next - a print journalist, perhaps?
After managing Bollywood and Tollywood together for quite sometime, Rituparna Sengupta finally shifted her base to Mumbai. “Bengali cinema has limited scope and relates only to Bengal and East India. I want to expand my horizon”, she says.
Today, the lady has a lot of projects in hand including one with Kalpana Lazmi. About this movie, Sengupta says, “It is a period film which has a triangle between a king and two ladies coming from two different social classes”.
Rituparna is also doing a film with Sunny Deol about which she says, “The movie does not deal with any lovey-dovey romantic subject. It puts forward some strong opinions and bold ideas”.
Looks like the Bong Beauties are all set to rock Bollywood!!

With about 3,50,000 pounds in her pocket Shilpa Shetty emerged victorious from the ‘Big Brother’s House’ defeating her last competitor, Germen Jackson. Shilpa got 63% votes.
Along with the money Shilpa gets to work in a Hollywood movie by Fox pictures, an opportunity to write a book, to endorse a line of clothes, cosmetics and jewellary, to host a cricket reality show, to work in a television documentary, to host a prize ceremony and also an interview with The Sun. Pheww!! Now that’s quite a handful.
With her victory Shilpa forgave Jade saying, “Jade is definitely not a racist. I do not want to leave England putting anyone in any trouble. The country has given a lot to me.”
After shedding tears for bearing racist remarks and being called ‘dog’ and ‘Paki’, the graceful lady now sheds tears for the joy of victory.
As for us, we say, “All’s well that ends well!!”

She is the uncrowned queen of the catwalk, hardly an ‘item girl’. So it comes as no surprise when Jesse Randhawa refuses to talk about her dance number in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘No Smoking’, which has been labeled an item song. She will dance her way into Bollywood with this unconventional sequence choreographed by Ashley Lobo. Will this be the first in the long line of other dance numbers? Randhawa is not telling.
There seems to be no end to this youngster’s talent. After bagging a film with Amitabh Bachchan, Jiah khan is decorating her cap with more feathers. the girl, we hear, has even sung the song in the (now) mandatory music video for her film Nishabd. What’s more, she even turned choreographer for the same. Apparently, knowing that Jiah is quite adept at various forms of dancing, the choreographer gave her a free hand and asked her to just do her stuff for the video, and Jiah khan immediately set the stage on fire with her Shakira-style belly dance moves. We don’t know about jiah, But ramgopal Verma must certainly be grinning from ear-to-ear about his multi-talented discovery.

21 yrs old, beautiful Katrina Kaif started her career with ‘Boom’ which bombed on the box office. She then did movies like ‘Sarkar’, ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ and ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ which got her some recognition.
Now, Katrina is one of the busiest heroines of South and Bollywood. She is currently doing David Dhawan’s ‘Partner’ with Lara Dutta, Salman Khan and Govinda. She has Anis Azmi’s ‘Welcome’. She is doing Anil Sharma’s ‘Apne’ where she plays the role of a doctor opposite Bobby Deol. She is also doing ‘Namaste London’ with Vipul Shah and a thriller with Abbas Mastaan.

Ayesha Takia is very frank and open about her love life. Where other Bollywood ladies try to hide their affairs and marriage, Ayesha openly says, “I will marry Farhan and only him. He runs a five-star hotel in Mumbai. Well, there are two reasons why I want to marry him. First, we are in love with each other. And secondly, I love the cheese cake in Farhan’s restaurant. I really can’t do without it.”
Where else do you find such candid confessions? Say cheese, guys!!
Remeber Meghna Naidu? Yeah, the same girl who shot into the lumelight with music videos. After appearing in a few forgettable flicks, she’s back to where she started her career - music videos. Recently during one of the shoots, Ms. Naidu had a rather unforgettable experience. She was shooting in a remote place and the video’s concept demanded this particular old fort to give it a mystic and scary feel. SHooting was definitely no fun as the place naturally looked scary, especially when shooting at night. Naidu was made to climb an old banyan tree for the shoot and when she did so the unit’s light mysteriously went off and she was stranded in the dark, atop the tree. Luckily the entire unit gathered around to keep her ’spirits’ high. We are sure this is one scary experience Ms Naidu won’t forget for a ling time.

After their steamy MR coffee ad blissfully married couple Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora Khan were last seen together in a Shubha Mudgal music video. The duo will now team up to present a cricket quiz show ‘The Cricket Grandmaster’ for the upcoming World Cup. And while Arbaaz is completely addicted to cricket, for his bootylicious wife, it is going to be an altogether different ball game. Batting on a new wicket, eh?
Her acting talents might not have been on display in her recent movies but former beauty queen Tanushree Dutta sure can dance. She is all set to sizzle in a lavani number ‘Mala Laagli Kona Chi Hichki’ in Vishram Sawant’s ‘Risk’.
“Lavani is a dance form which has been performed by all the leading actresses- from Helenji to Dia Mirza,” she says. “My role has more than just the glamour quotient, it is a mature and performance-based role,” adds the Bong beauty.
She is the latest to join the calendar girl brigade. Vidya Balan has discarded her girl-next-door look and turned into a water nymph for ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani’s coveted celebrity calendar and is contending with hotties like Mallika, Aishwarya and Bipasha.
“She has a stunning face with very expressive eyes,” says the lensman. Looks like Balan’s aquatic adventure is sure to make the months to come more interesting.
Here is funny one we heard recently. Apparently, Mallika sherawat was shooting for the cover of a magazine recently, when the photographer asked her the ‘position’ she was comfortable in. Without batting an eyelid, the quote queen immediately replied, “I am aiming to be number so I prefer being ‘on top’,” or words to that effect. Must say, there’s never a dull moment when you are around the witty girl. Yes guys, the quotable queen definitely retains her enviable position!

Koena mitra is known for her sense of style. And when she was a kid she was as particular about her clothes as she is now. Once, when her mother scilded her, saying that she would turn into a beggar if she didn’t get good marks in ger results, the next day Koena quietly went into her room and began packing her clothes. When asked what she was up to, she innocently replied that since she was to turn a beggar, she might as well dress well, so that she could be a well-dressed begar and earn more
. The rest of the household couldn’t stop laughing. But that just goes to show how koena’s always been a girl with oodles of style.
Sameera reddy’s been painting the town red with her sisters Sushma and Meghna. They were back in Mumbai recently for a short visit and three ladies had a gala time. They went partying together, were seen at various places letting their hair down and having a whale of a time. These three girls certainly don’t need any friends when they are together - who does when you already make a great gand with your own sisters, right?
