Guess which is the best day of the week for Deepal Shaw…. It is Wednesday coz’ Deepal has landed with the lead role in Anjum Rizvi Film Company & Friday Filmworks joint venture titled ‘WEDNESDAY’. She will share the screen with Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Jimmy Shergill and Aamir Bashir. The film is written and directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Anjum Rizvi.
 
Set on a particular Wednesday this drama is placed almost in real time. The story takes place between 2 pm and 5 pm on a Wednesday in Mumbai. Deepal also has movies like ‘Swaah’ and ‘Karma, Confessions and Holi’ in her hand.

On the day of the music release of ‘Tara Rum Pum’, BIG 92.7 FM will premiere one of the leading tracks of this Yash Raj films’ production, for Big 92.7 FM and Radio initiative from Adlabs Films Ltd, has tied up with Yash Raj Films to be their exclusive radio partner for this eagerly awaited films “Tara Rum Pum”.

To add to the package, there will be a special Yash Raj Films music countdown on big FM hosted by Abhijeet Sawant, winner of “Indian Idol”, reliving some of the most memorable songs of their films.
 
Directed by Siddarth Anand of the “Salaam Namaste” fame, “Tara Rum Pum” stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherji and is the story of the human spirit and how it ultimately prevails, no matter how low life takes us and how bleak the future seems.

Aishwarya Rai will become Mrs. Abhishek Bachchan on 20th April, as the wedding date has been finalized. Big B’s mother Teji Bachchan is not keeping well and is admitted in Leelavati Hospital. So, the wedding will be held in Big B’s bunglow ‘Pratiksha’ in a quiet and simple manner. Only 15 guests and close friends will attend the function including Amar Singh, Mulayam Singh, Anil Ambani, Yash Chopra, Kran Johar and others. The wedding ceremonies will go on for three days.

Currently, Abhishek is busy shooting for Goldie Behl’s ‘Drona’ and Aishwarya is shooting for Ashutosh’s ‘Jodha Akbar’.

After the scandalous Mika kiss, someone has again upset Rakhi Sawant. This time it is the comedian Raju Srivastava, who co-hosts Sony weekly Comedy Ka Badsshah — Hasegaa India with her. Things got really messy at the Concorde Studios in Goregaon a few days ago when Raju was repetitively uttering suggestive dialogues like ‘main tumhe dekhna chahta hoon’, etc. and getting physical with her on the show.

Comedy Ka Badsshah — Hasegaa India has been conceived and produced by Sanjiv Sharma and Vipul D Shah, who earlier produced shows like Ye Meri Life Hai and the first season of Indian Idol (both Sony). Vipul is also the director of the comedy show. 
 
The show also has a hilarious segment — Hamari Bahu Rakhi. Incidentally, Rakhi’s boyfriend, Abhishek Awasti, also featured in some episodes of the show.

Producer Jai Thakur and director Haidar Kazmi have tried to underline the plight of women in rural India in their thought provoking film KAJRI. The film is based on a real life incident in Kadrava village of Bikaner, in Rajasthan. The incident took place on 4 February 2002.

Inspired by this tru incident, Jai Thakur and Haidar Kazmi decided to make a film on the subject. The film mirrors the hard and horrific realities of our existence. The film has a powerful and sensitive screenplay, and high-impact dialogues that make the audiences think about whatever wrong has been happening around us.

The film will be sent to major film festivals of the world. Jai Thakur is confident that the classes and the masses will equally appreciate the film, for its thought provoking theme, great content, dynamic direction, sensitive screenplay, and hard-hitting dialogues.

Haidar Kazmi has produced films like Path and Bobby in the past. KAJRI is his first film as a director. He feels KAJRI reflects the bitter truth about the inhumane ways women are treated in our society. The film has five songs sung by Debojit (of SAREGAMAPA fame), Pamela Jain, Reshma, and Krishna Daulatani.  Among the actors are Arpita singh [who plays the title role of KAJRI] Haidar Kazmi, Imran Khan, Nancy, Ekta, Reshma, and Yudhisthir Bhati.The film is produced under the banner of 25th Century.

Munna Bhai and Circuit, the two comic characters who rocked the audiences with their perfect chemistry in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ are coming out of the silver screens to hit the world of comic books. In fact, the blueprint for the comic strips has already been made.

“We’ve drawn some sketches for Munna and Circuit which would hopefully serve as illustrations in a series of adventures, and we like what we see. If things go well we’ll soon be putting out Circuit-Munna comic books for public consumption,” says the director Raj Kumar Hirani.
“And why just comic books? We’ve a large number of offers to turn Munna and Circuit’s adventures into animation films, cartoon strips, you name it,” Hirani told IANS. 
 
The comic books and the proposed animation films will supposedly be marketed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions, which had produced the two films as well.

March saw some of our Bollywood ladies celebrate their birthdays quietly. On 21st March, Bollywood’s leading actress celebrated her 29th birthday with a quiet dinner at home with some of her close friends, llike Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar, who dropped in unannounced to wish her.

On Friday 23rd, Kangana Ranaut too had a quiet birthday with her best friend Jaspreet and sis Rangoli. She visited Siddhi Vinayak Temple and gave food to the poor. Of late, Kangana has been too much in news for all wrong reasons. Hope this birthday turns up the things for her.

Adnan sami has come out with a new album. Kis din and the actress who will feature in the video of this one is none other than the attractive and svelte Yana Gupta. And we hear that the dazzling lady charged absolutely nothing for the video. When asked the reason behind generous gesture, sha said laughing, “The best things in life come for free. but, on a more serious note, I feel this video will project me in a very different way and that will be good for me. That’s why I did it.” Now, that’s some sensible barter. Seems like Yana gupta now wants to feature in some meaningful albums and wants to show her talent. Consequently, she is compromising on the money factor.

Aishwarya seems to have been caught up in a very tight and busy schedule. She is shooting in Karjat for her film ‘Jodha Akbar’. The shooting starts early. So, the lady has to get up early in the morning at 3:00 a.m. when we are all sleeping in our cozy beds. Then she freshens up and rushes for her shooting in Karjat. There she puts on her makeup, dons her costume, faces the camera till 7:00 p.m. in the evening, scuffles through Mumbai jam to reach her house by 10:00 p.m. and then again her alarm goes off at three in the morning……….Ch! Ch!

When Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut returned back home after a shooting schedule from out of the city, she was surprised at receiving congratulatory messeges and calls for having been signed on for a Yash Chopra film. She was simply stunned by it all because leave alone singing a film, Kangana claims that she hasn’t even met the chopras for any role. And though the actress hasn’t acyively lobbied for a part in their ventures, she would be more than happy to get an offer from the banner. Now considering her talent, let’s not surpass this possiblity.

Yashraj Banner’s discovery Tulip Joshi is carving out her niche in Bollywood. Sanjay Gupta has signed this beauty in a big budget film with some other big stars. Also, Tulip has been signed for ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ to be directed by Sameer Karnik. This film is being made by Salman Khan’s secretary Vikas Kapoor. Tulip says she is getting a lot of offers but wants to do only selective roles.

Threatening calls to actors is common in Bollywood. Now, it is Katrina Kaif who received a call on her cellphone which was co-incidently picked by Salman Khan. The caller threatened Katrina using abusive language. Sallu Miyan has lodged a complaint with the Bandra police station on Kaif’s behalf. The police has arrested a person named Ajay Giri and further investigations are in progress.

Things are heating up in the sets of Vivek Agnihotri’s football flick ‘Goal’ which is currently being shot in London. It so happened that for a scene, Aeshad Warsi made Bipasha wait on the sets for Hours. An angry Bips stormed out of the sets. Dear Arshad, get it for sure. Time, tide and Bipasha waits for none!

The film is being made under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. Andy Ansah, the football choreographer for most feature films and commercials made on the subject of football, has put in his services for this film.

Speaking too much can be fatal. This is true for Kangana Ranaut who has been dropped from Aamir Khan project ‘Ghajini’ because an over-excited Kangana was talking a lot about the film which is against Aamir’ policy. And now, Priyanka Chopra has taken her place.
The grapevine has it that Ashutosh Gowarikar was the one who recommended Priyanka to Aamir Khan after he saw her performance in Krrish and Don. ‘Ghajini’ is being directed by A.R.Murugadoss and the tunes are being roped by A.R.Rahman.
