For the first time, both her parents were with her on the outdoor schedule. With bips as their guide-the Basus sure had whale of a time Undoutedly, shopping topped the list and from what we’ve been told, all of them, specially our Bips, returned home with bag-full of goodies.Wonder what she’s picked up for John? Meanwhile ,the temperature in Dubai shot up wherever Bips was spotted.Do we see a lot of guys ’shaikh’ing their heads in approval?
It’s time to launch some new faces in hindi cinema, and directors Farah Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Harry Baweja are busy with just that. When we visited Film city last week, what struck us was the number of newcomers to be launched this year-Farah Khan will launch Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya will see the debut of Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor while Harry Baweja will launch son Harman Baweja in Love Story 2050. All the three films are being shot at the same time, and all are scheduled to hit the screen sometime in november this year.what’s to be seen is which newbie will make the most impact!

For her forthcoming flick ‘Om Shanti Om’ choreographer turned director Farah Khan has shot a song sequence with 29 leading Bollywood actors and actresses. All of them have worked for free in the song. In return, they’ve been gifted costly mobiles, watches and other accessories.
In the film, Shahrukh throws a grand party inviting Bollywood stars. For this Farah and SRK personally called up the stars requesting them to appear in the song. Now, who can say no to King Khan! So the song has Saif, Salman and Sanju Baba along with Dharmendra, Jitendra, Tusshar and Mithun Da. The leading Bollywood ladies like Tabu, Karishma and Urmila have also graced the song.
Tabu is one actress who is known for her acting talents and excellent performance in many challenging roles. However, this 30+ actress is still unmarried. Tabu has had a lot of link-ups in the industry including Sajid Nadiawala and Sanjay Dutt. The latest addition to this list is Sushmita Sen’s ex-boyfriend Randeep Hooda who was seen in the recently released flick ‘Risk’. Sources say that they met at a discotheque in Juhu. Randeep ushered such paises on Tabu that the lady slipped off and now the couple is meeting frequently. Seems Tabu has made up her mind to say a full and final goodbye to her career so that she can romance freely.
Dia Mirza got a shock of her life when she did not get to dub for the scene shot by her for ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’. Her role has been cut shot and this has been done by none other than her boyfriend and film’s director Apoorva Lakhia. Apoorva says that the decision to cut the scenes was taken during editing and an actor must think about the movie more than his or her role. On the other hand, Dia says that the scenes were cut without intimating her and this will definitely hamper the movie rather than benfitting it.
After signing for Aziz Mirza’s movie with Vidya Balan, Shahid Kapoor has again bagged in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s home production opposite Rani Mukherjee that is going to be directed by Bhansali’s sister Bela Sehgal. This will be Bela’s directorial debut after all her Editing skills being exhibited in Bhansali’s Films. The film is expected to roll by end 2007. Shahid is presently completing Imtiaz Ali’s next with Kareena, after which Aziz’s film will start in July. Sure, Shahid is on his road to ascent.
Lara Dutta, these days, is revealing other sides of her talents. She is busy writing two scripts, one is a romantic comedy and the other is a period film. She is also keen to act in them. She has also donned a new role as a reality TV host for IIFA along with Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar and others for the show ‘Star ki Talaash’.
She feels the reality shows are all tears, laughter, jubilation along with disappointment. She says, “I loved the idea when it was told to me. It gives an opportunity to reach out to your audience. It’s amazing to see the change in personalities. It’s a gift. That’s why I shall try and ensure that the contestants don’t have jitters”.
Many a TV star with Bollywood dreams has used the sari-to-sizzlt ploy. Now, telly actor, Amrapalli Gupta, who plays a demure Bahu in ‘Teen Bahuraniyaan’, will be seen showing some skin in a remix video for an album ‘Chatni Mix’ where she shakes a leg to the tune of “Kaise Bani Kaise Bani”.
“It was shot before I debuted in this serial,” says the 23- year old who is hoping Bollywood will notice her new avatar. “I would love to do glamorous roles though I don’t believe in exposing just like that,” she states. Is that the bare truth?
Kareena Kapoor and Celina Jaitley are going to participate in the election campaign for U.P. Congress in Varanasi. Celina is going to do a road show for the Congress candidate Mohammad Sheikh Shamim along with Rajiv Shukla, where as Kareena is going to campaign on 26th April. She was supposed to come on 21st April, but she couldn’t make it because of some family problems.

Sushmita Sen really knows how to stay in style. Her fans will see their style icon in Roberto Cavialli and Valentino costumes in her forthcoming venture ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ with SRK. Sources reveal that her character in the film carries such style that nothing less than these designers would do for her, and for the actress carrying the costumes, we have no doubts about it. The lady can sure pull off any style and just any costume.
Preity Zinta has bagged one more brand endorsement. She will now be seen in the marketing campaign for Airlines ‘GoAir’, with the tag line ‘Chalo India, Lets fly smart’.
The managing director of GoAir, Jeh Wadia, who also happens to be the younger brother of Preity’s long time boyfriend, Ness Wadia, finds the lady vibrant, young and innovative which matches the airline’s brand personality. The actress’ forthcoming flicks are Yash Raj’s ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ and Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘The Last Lear’.

She made you open your mouth wide with her bold scenes and bolder statements… She swept you off your feet with her belle dance ‘Mayya Mayya’ in ‘Guru’…. Now, Mallika Sherawat is all set to get your blood rushing with her negative role in Himesh Reshamiya’s debut film ‘Aap Ka Suroor’.
Produced by Vinay Tarneja and directed by Prashant Chadha, ‘Aap Ka Suroor’ is getting a worldwide release on June 29th. A fresh new face Riya is being introduced along with Himesh. Mallika’s character is pivotal to the story and she plays a bad girl in the movie. One out of the seven tracks is based on her character.

Can you guess where cutie Amisha Patel loves to spend her holidays? It is not some beach or snow-clad mountains. She prefers visiting historical places. She had also done a project thesis on India’s ancient temples, forts and palaces while studying in USA.
Currently, Amisha is shooting for Priyadarshan’s movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ in Rajasthan, and when her schedules permit her she takes out time to visit the state’s historical places.
Recently, Amisha took out time to visit the famous Raj Palace in Jaipur and she was reportedly very impressed by the palace’s architecture, its furniture, chandeliers, silverware and other works of arts. In fact, Amisha is quite well versed with the history of the palace, which the daughter of the King of the royal family of Chomu inherited from her father.
Amisha says her most memorable vacation was in Egypt when she visited the great pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and many ancient Egyptian temples alongside river Nile.
The film’s fortunes were reportedly not a deterrent for the director’s largesse towards his leggy debutante. According to tabloid reports, Ram Gopal Verma is busy hunting for an apartment to gift his ‘Nishabd’ heroine, Jiah Khan. Quiz Verma about it and he texts back, “Actually a bungalow as we are starting a family.” He laughs it off later at the phone with a “If I were to buy houses for all my girlfriends I would be living in a hut.” Did Verma just admit to Jiah being his girlfriend?
Actor Riteish Deshmukh is excited about his role in Sunjoy Ghosh’s ‘Aladdin and the mystery of the lamp’, with Amitabh Bachchan as his genie. “I don’t know what plans Sujoy and producer Rohan Sippy have about my looks. It could be totally Arabian or it might be somewhat contemporary,” Riteish said.
We always know Lara Dutta has the gift of the gab. Her on-screen performance might not have stirred a storm, but when the lady speaks she pretty much holds everyone’s attention. Recently she was the only Indian Actress to be invited to Barcelona, as one of the keynote speakers at a mobile phone conference. And sharing the dais with her was none other than Hollywood star Robert Redford. She spoke fluently about the business of bollywood, revenues through content and more such heavy-duty fundas. Needless to say, she made an instant ‘coonect’ with audience there. We wonder where she’s been getting her dose of Filmi business gyaan from? Karan Johar……may be?

Wannabe starlet, Sadhika Randhawa, ostensibly “discovered” by film-maker Sawan Kumar Tak years ago, is back to try her luck in Bollywood with the controversial ‘Phir Tauba Tauba’- sequel to a forgettable ‘Tauba Tauba’- opposite ‘Big Boss’ winner Rahul Roy.
“I agreed to expose because today all the big heroines are doing the same,” she says. Hoping to strip her way to stardom, perhaps?
Remember we told you newcomer Jiah Khan was busy tarining in Tai Chi doing motorcycle stunts in London for her next film? Well the girl is not falling prey to the adage ‘all work and no play’ In fact, she’s living it up with her two sisiters in London and after her much talked about perfume fetish, she is now acquired a new one - she’s freaking out on bags. In fact, she has already mustered a collection of 175 bags! The girl, we are told, is brand crazy, and quite proud of her enviable collection. When asked about her fetsih Jiah nonchalantly replies, “Guess, It’s just me. I come with a lot of ‘baggage’.” Here is one cool lady who has a way with words, What?
