The versatile actor of the Indian cinema, Irrfan Khan had a wish since time immemorial to work with his favorite actress Konkona Sen. Finally the director Madhur Bhandkar enabled Irrfan to realize his dream by casting him and Konkona Sen for the movie ‘Metro’. Irrfan tells timesofindia that “My wife is a Bengali and I’ve seen all of Konkona’s films. In fact, I thought I’d get a chance to be paired opposite Konkona in The Namesake, but unfortunately, she couldn’t do that film. We have worked together before in Deadline. However, our roles were such that we had to hate each other and that wasn’t very appealing. With Metro, I got lucky and I’m ecstatic to be paired opposite her as I really have immense respect for her as an actress.”
