The Underworld don Abu Salem’s revelations have left the whole nation dumbstruck. Salem aka Don who is undergoing trial right now has claimed that he had connections with many Bollywood superstars such as Shahrukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Salman Khan and the forgotten hero Chunkey Pandey. The crime world superstar also revealed that the former Miss Universe, Sush has made several calls on his personal mobile phone in the past. The news was the central topic of discussion on most of the Indian news channels such as Aaj Tak, NDTV, etc.
The news has also created a spur in Bollywood film industry. Though several big stars such as Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Govinda have been linked to the underworld dons in the past, yet Abu Salem’s claim in the court was a great shock, especially regarding Sushmita Sen. Sen had maintained a clean and clear image in the industry so far but no one knew that one day she would be accused of being associated with the mafia world in some way or the other.
Model turned actress Deepika Padukone, who comes from an athletic family, will show some of her athletic genes in Nikhil Advani’s next film. She will go through a strict training schedule to match Akshay Kumar’s martial art skills in the film which will be shot entirely in Shanghai. Advani wants the title ‘Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo’ for the film but there seems to be a copyright problem with the name.
“We’ve signed Deepika opposite Akshay. I think they’ll make a great pair. More than that she suits the part completely. She has lots and lots of action to perform in the film. Deepika has to match Akshay fist-for-fist, stunt-for-stunt,” Advani says.
Amrita Arora had created stirs by appearing in a hot video with her boyfriend and supermodel Upen Patel. Now, ‘Meri Beri Ke Ber’ fame Sanobar Kabir follows the same path. She is appearing with a newcomer Kunal in a music video ‘Sanobar and Masti Express’ by T-series. Kunal is Sanobar’s boyfriend and the duo has given body to body hot scenes in the video. Kunal says that the scenes are according to the demand of the situation.
Some people have many hidden talents. Not many knew that Divya Dutta had a mimicry artist hidden inside her. Divya has changed her voice for ‘The Last Lear’ to suit her role of a nurse in the film. The director Rituparno is quite happy with the way she has maintained her voice from the beginning of the movie to the end. Ghosh reveals, “In all my years, I’ve only come across actors whose voice needed serious modulation. But Divya changed her voice to suit the character of the nurse she plays. At first, I thought she’d end up sounding like a parody of the character. But Divya held the new pitch for the full movie.”
Divya says, “Rituji wanted me to sound different. I was asked to modulate my accent and diction. When I tried a new voice, Rituji loved it.”

The former beauty queen Neha Dhupia is aiming at doing a variety of roles these days. Her forthcoming movie, ‘Ek Chalis Ki Local’ is supposed to present Dhupia in a different kind of character. Neha has kept her fingers crossed for ‘Ek Chalis’ which will soon hit the cinema halls all over the country. Neha tells the Delhi Times that “I’ll be seen doing a variety of roles in my forthcoming films. As an actress, I don’t look at boundaries. The kind of roles I have done in the past and the ones I am doing now are different and interesting at the same time. I want to grow as an actress and I’m lucky to be getting the right kind of work,” she says.
Recently, Neha was spotted in Delhi while she was participating in a golf tournament. “I just need an excuse to fly down here to meet my parents and friends. Of course, from food to shopping, everything about Delhi is special,” she says.
When asked about her personal life especially her beau, the squash player Ritwik Bhattacharya, Neha happily replied “Everything seems just fantastic for me right now. But hey, I’m here to enjoy a good game of golf, so let’s not talk about squash.”
Rumours about Jiah Khan being the secret daughter of Aamir Khan’s father Tahir Husain have succumbed to the background. The fresh one is that Jiah Khan is playing the lead opposite Aamir Khan in the second half of his ‘Ghajini’. But ask more about the project, Jiah is scared to reveal more. Remember Kangana Ranaut was shown the doors apparently because she spoke too much about the film.
‘Ghajini’ is the Hindi remake of A.R Murugadoss’ Ghajini which portrays the story of an amnesiac man’s hunt for his fiancee’s killer (inspired by Christopher Nolan’s thriller Memento ). The original Tamil leading lady Asin was signed opposite Aamir Khan in the first-half.
The end is not for her. Item-girl-turned-actress Rakhi Sawant believes in making news. The gal debuted on the ramp with ‘The Graveyard Collection’ designed by fashion choreographer Rohit Verma in the House of Horrors in Mumbai. Rakhi walked the ramp dressed as a witch, with the horror masks and blood-stained outfit to match the theme. And though she was dressed in an evil witch ensemble, Rakhi looked deadly hot. Our ‘Topi Wala Babu’ Himesh Reshammiya put his cap aside for the time being and donned on the ‘Burka’. The reason? The singer turned actor Himesh wanted to visit Ajmer Sharif but was scared of being caught up by his fans. So, he hid himself behind the ‘Burka’ and entered Khwaja’s Darbar to ask his blessings for his forthcoming ‘Aap Ka Suroor’. But as soon as the word got around, Himesh was flocked by fans who apparently tore his Burka to get his glimpse. The authorities are quite annoyed at Himesh’s attempt, but Himesh admits that he did not mean to hurt anyone’s sentiments and is sorry if he has done so unintentionally.
The newbie Sherlyn Chopra is really disgusted with her experience of working in Vinod Pande’s movie ‘Red Swastik’. The actress feels that Vinod did not give her the kind of role he had promised to. Sherlyn tells the Delhi Times that “In fact, I am really disappointed with director Vinod Pande. He kept saying what a good role and a great film ‘Red Swastik’ was, but when it came to the film’s promotion and release, he let me down. What has irked me even more is that he has changed my name in the credits to Maneka. I have an identity of my own and he has totally diluted my name.”
Sherlyn tells that Vinod even forced to rehearse several times for a kissing scene with her male co-star. “Can you imagine that? He wanted me to do rehearsals for a kissing scene. Who does that”, says a disappointed Sherlyn.
However, with one bad experience, Sherlyn plans to be extremely careful in future.
Bandra club Poison had real news for gossip columns on Wednesday night. It so happened that hot model Upen Patel and our very talented Tabu came to the bar each with their friends. Upen, spotting Tabu, went up to her and what began as a friendly chat ended up with the couple hitting along so well that it ended in a real hot kiss! They were even kissing on their way out of the club. What a story! Sure enough we don’t want to miss on this kiss episode.
Sherln Chopra is in to fight for a cause of creating awareness against cruelty meted out to animals. For this Miss Chopra will shoot for a real hot ad for PETA (People For Ethical Treatment towards Animals) which will have Sherlyn dressed in very sexy lingerie and wielding a chain and a whip. The message, in Sherlyn’s words, would be to tell people that chains and whips are meant to be used in bedrooms and not against animals.
PETA folks also showed Sherlyn videos of animals being killed and skinned for fur. Sherlyn was so horrified after watching these videos that she has vowed never to wear fur clothes in her life.
Are Esha Deol and Tusshar Kapoor an item by themselves? Hard to tell, though the word is now out that both are pitching in with item numbers for Rohit Shetty’s forthcoming film, ‘Sunday’. While the daughter of Dharmendra and former dream girl Hema Malini will now dance to Shibani Kashyap’s tunes along with actors Ajay Devgan and Arshad Warsi, Tusshar will perform to the music of singer Raagahv being choreographed by Ganesha Acharya. But would the item numbers add any Friday sizzle to ‘Sunday’? That remains to be seen.
John Abraham is in South shooting for Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Aashayen’. Sources have it that he plays the role of a terminally ill-patient (somewhat like Rajesh Khanna in Anand) and, for that touch of authenticity, he will be losing weight steadily. Since John and Bipasha’s split are giving colours to gossip columns, quite likely that the next coming in would be- John going through a depression and losing weight alarmingly!!
The star socialite Paris Hilton has won the sympathy of people from different corners of the world. And India is one of these places. The famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan has sympathized with the heiress and said that Hilton will become a strong woman on her return from jail.
Salman Khan has himself served several stints in the jail because of reasons like killing of protected wild animals and crashing his car taking the life of one and injuring two others etc. But Salman sees the positive side of the imprisonment. He feels that the peaceful atmosphere of the jail helped him calm down his rage and wild and hopes the same for the heiress too.
Ruslaan Mumtaz, a newcomer in the galaxy of Indian stars, Bollywood, feels uncomfortable while doing kissing scenes. While other newcomers try to climb the ladder of success doing such steamy scenes, Ruslaan has a different stand about it.
Ruslaan felt embarrassed when he had to do a kissing sceen in his upcoming film, MP3. Poor young boy did the scene correctly after around 80 retakes. Ruslaan tells Delhi Times that “Well, that’s right. I was aware the script included a kissing scene. So, it wasn’t a surprise for me. In fact, I have to give credit to my co-star Hazel who made me feel very relaxed and comfortable during the shot. I feel that we as actors are just doing our job. So, why make an issue out of it? I feel this scene has been very aesthetically shot with the Eiffel Tower for a backdrop.”
