Malaika Arora Khan is hosting a reality show ‘Dhoom Macha De’ for NDTV and she is taking in all efforts to make the show appealing. Recently, she has shot a dangerous stunt for the pilot episode of the show.

Action director Ravi Dewan helped her perform the special stunt. “I was tied to a harness and lifted up in the air. After that, I twist and jump off. It was quite fun, but one has to realise these things can go wrong if not handled well. I was lucky I had professionals working with me on the team,” recalls Malaika.

Malaika’s son Arhaan too was present on the set and cheered his mom on as she performed the stunt, “He was as cool as a cucumber. In fact, after watching me do the stunt, he too wanted to try his hand at it. So we got him a mini harness and let him jump off it. I think he’s got the daredevil streak from me.”

It is clear that the lady has a thing for action and stunts. She began her Bollywood career by dancing atop a train for ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ in ‘Dil Se’. For ‘Om Shanti Om’, she got into a harness and jumped down a building with SRK.

The show, to be aired from February 1, will have eleven of India’s popular and professional singers. The star contestants of the show include Anaida, Baba Sehgal, Babul Supriyo, Devang Patel, Jaspinder Nirula, Jassi, Kamaal Khan, Richa Sharma, Sapna Awasthi, Suneeta Rao and Taz, who will be judged by Sharmila Tagore, Shankar Mahadevan and Prasoon Joshi.

That Shilpa Shetty is no more single is a stale news now. Shilpa has found company in UK based businessman Raj Kundra. Kundra was introduced to Shilpa last year by her manager Farhath Hussain with a proposal to launch a perfume. Their professional association blossomed into a relationship in a matter of months.

Now, this Raj Kundra is quite close to Shilpa and has been truly accepted by the Shetty Parivaar. Proof? Raj is currently in Mumbai and is busy planning to hold sister Shamita’s party at China House next week. Shamita’s birthday falls on February 5.

A source close to the Shettys reveals, “The guest list and the menu are being discussed in great detail. Raj has become close to the Shetty family and Shamita is especially fond of him. She feels he’s right for her sister.”

Neha Dhupia has enough reasons to await the coming month of February. The lady has two back to back releases this February.

She will be seen on the big screen with her ‘Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama’ as early as Februrary 1. This film which comes from the makers of ‘Tom, Dick and Harry’, is a comedy with centered on the theme of extra marital affairs. Rajpal Yadav plays Neha Dhupia’s philandering husband in the film. The movie also stars Ashish Chaudhary and Amrita Arora.

Again within a gap of just one week, she will hit the screens as the solo lady in Rajat Kapoor’s ‘Mithya’. With Ranvir Shorey as her co-star, this one is also a comedy though with elements of thrills in it.

Later in the year, Neha Dhupia would also be seen in ‘Maharathi’, ‘Singh is Kinng’and ‘I Am 24’.

Ranvir Shorey should have known it. The entire Bollywood knows Mallika Sherawat’s i-m-the-queen attitude. Making a lady with this attitude wait for three hours is not what one really dares to do. However, Ranvir could not help it and sure he along with the producer had to pay for it.

During the shoot of Pritish Nandy Communications’ ‘Ugly and Pagli’, that particular day Mallika arrived on the sets on time as usual. However, Ranvir was delayed because of ill-health. The actress waited for as long as three hours, and by the time Ranvir arrived (after taking his medication) she was in no mood to shoot. She walked out of the sets and poor Ranvir had to shoot his solo scenes that day.

Ranvir however maintains that though Mallika sherawat is a very co-operative and friendly actress, and that was the first time he saw the temperamental side of hers.

In the film, Mallika plays a wacky, outspoken, outlandish girl called Pagli while Ranvir plays an under-confident loser, Ugly.

Kunal Khemu is quite busy these days shooting for his forthcoming film ‘Superstar’ which also stars Tulip Joshi and Aushima Sawheny. The film has many action sequences involving jet skis and during the shoot of one such scene Kunal just ended up injuring his co-star Aushima.

It so happened that Kunal had to drive a jet ski in full speed for a scene and he drove so fast that he not only toppled Aushima who flew in the air and fell in the water but also during one take fell back on her and made her nose bleed!!

Recalls Aushima, “Yeah there were quite a many narrow escapes while doing those Jet Ski scenes. Kunal drove so fast that I just flew into the water and he even made my nose bleed during one take. But he is such a gentleman he kept apologizing the entire day! It was fun though shooting those scenes in water, quite thrilling!”

Media had been abuzz lately with stories of Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia heading for a splitville. There were rumours that Preity was shooting for Deepa Mehta’s film in Toronto and boyfriend Ness too had accompanied her to spend time with her. However since Deepa is a tough taskmaster, Preity hardly had time to spend with Ness and this apparently led to an argument between the couple. Sources claimed that after the showdown between Ness and Preity, an upset Ness returned to Mumbai and Preity was once again immersed with her shoot.

However, Preity terms the entire story as rubbish and says, “I don’t know where these stories originate from. A few months ago it was being said that Ness and I were getting married and now it’s being said that he and I have split.” Preity has always tried to keep her personal life in covers and was obviously upset with media intrusion into her relationships. So, was her curt reply when questioned about her relationship with Ness, “Ness and I are happy together, thank you very much.”

Neetu Chandra has shot for an interesting commercial with ‘Reliance’ where she will be seen enacting four different roles- one with a typical ‘gharelu’ look, the second as a hot babe, the third in a ‘lavani’ look and the fourth one in a typical Yash Raj films’ heroine look.

Neetu Chandra is known to work hard to get into the skin of her characters. For ‘Garam Masala’ she put on a very convincing look of an air hostess. For ‘Traffic Signal’ Neetu played a ‘Kathiawadi’ girl and for the role she not just interacted with girls who sold embroidered dresses on footpath but also got a complete makeover done in terms of looks, wardrobe and accessories to suit the character.
For her forthcoming release ‘One Two Three’ which is expected to arrive in April, Neetu plays a Jat cop.

Priyanka Chopra has always been in news for her differences with the female co-stars. Her cat-fight with Kareena Kapoor is too well known. She also seems to share cold vibes with Lara Dutta with whom she worked in the early phase of her career. Now, media is abuzz with the tales of her differences with Kangana Ranaut with whom she stars in Madhur Bhandarkar’s forthcoming ‘Fashion’.

However, Priyanka denies any such difference with Kangana and said in an interview to a news agency,   “Please stop thinking of us as rivals at each other’s throats. I worked with Kareena Kapoor and Lara Dutta in my two earliest films. We worked without any kind of tension. Now I hear I’m at loggerheads with Kangana while shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’. That I’m feeling threatened by her presence, when in fact we get along famously.”

“Kangana and I share a lot in common. Like me she’s an outsider who has been wholeheartedly embraced and adopted by Mumbai. Besides we’ve our individual space in ‘Fashion’. So this reported friction is again fiction,” Priyanka added.

The name of the film is quite innovative and suggestive of course, but it has nothing to do with what you are thinking… The production house Shree Ashtavinayak is set to launch a 100 crore budgeted film titled ‘Blue’. The film will have Lara Dutta, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt as the leading stars and will be directed by a foreign ad filmmaker named Tony.

There is a possibility that Priyanka Chopra might also be a part of the film. If yes, it would mark the coming together of Akshay and Priyanka after a long gap since the two stars gave up working with each other following the rumours of their alleged affair. ‘Blue’ is likely to go on the floors in the second half of 2008.

Aamir Khan developed good relations with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra during the shooting of ‘Rang De Basanti’. Aamir is known to be quite a considerate friend and indeed he showed his generous side recently.

It so happened that the First AD (Assistant Director) of Mehra’s forthcoming film ‘Dilli 6’ starring Abhishek Bachcna and Sonam Kapoor failed to fly to the U.S. during the shooting stint currently underway in Jaipur. Mehra was in a fix without his first AD and sought close friend Aamir’s help.

Aamir was keen to fly down to Jaipur to assist Mehra, he could not take any time out as he got caught up in the shooting of Ghajini , and his absence would upset the entire schedule of the film. So he did what could be called the second best option- he sent his wife Kiran Rao (who had previously worked as an assistant to Ashutosh Gowariker) to Mehra’s help.

Confirming this, Mehra says, “Aamir wanted to help himself, but then suggested that his wife Kiran Rao would come.”

Talking about Kiran as the AD, Mehra says, “She was a great help on the sets. She is a thorough professional and very sincere at work.”

After the mind-blowing success of ‘Shivaji: The Boss’, director Shankar had announced that he will repeat the 57-year-old actor Rajnikant in ‘Robot‘ - a Rs.1 billion film, which the industry predicts will be a greater success. Maestro A.R. Rahman will compose the music. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages and will be distributed by London-based Ayingaran International.

Aishwarya Rai has been roped in by Shankar to pair opposite Rajnikant. Ash has signed the film for 1.5 crores and she has replaced Deepika Padukone who was considered earlier for the role. With this Rajnikanth has fulfilled his desire to work with Ash who couldn’t do Sivaji due to date problems. Meanwhile the official contract of the film has been approved by Amitabh Bachchan himself after altering few clauses and signed by Aishwarya.

Govinda is one of the best dancers our industry has known so far. So, when this veteran dancer praises some new comer, there must be definitely something worth praising. Talking about praises, both Govinda and choreographer Ganesh Acharya were impressed by Hansikaa’s graceful dancing steps during a dance sequence being shot for ‘Money Hai To Honey Hai’. Govinda even told director Ganesh that Hansikaa’s fervor and enthusiasm reminded him of himself from his old days and it feels like she is from his school itself, when it comes to dance!!

If sources are to be believed this particular dance number exudes amazing brilliance owing to the dancing skills of Govinda and Hansikaa and their chemistry has taken the number to even greater heights.

Finally, Kangana Ranaut has bagged her first endorsement project, and that too opposite none other than Salman Khan. Kangana has been chosen by a leading international shoes company Red Tape to endorse their brand of footwear which had been endorsed by Salman Khan so far.

Until now Red Tape manufactured footwear only for men with Salman as their ambassador. Now, the company is launching its female lineup with Kangana, who has already shot spots for hoardings and magazines and will soon be doing a TV ad with Salman Khan for the brand.

Apparently Red Tape has paid Kangana a whopping figure and has promised to enhance the amount by thirty percent in the next financial year. On being questioned about the reason for she being chosen for the brand, Kangana explains, “It was my my casual looks, I guess. The brand isn’t associated with formal shoes. Only sporty footwear, sneakers etc. They want me to endorse their shoes in my jeans and with my curly hair.”

Kangana is very excited about working with Salman, “It’s a good thought. I’m excited about the ad with Salman. I’ve always been his fan. I think he’s the only rock star in our cinema. I had watched him dance at an awards function and thought I’d be paired with him one day. It’s happening sooner than I thought.”

Big B has bought some land from private farmers in the district’s Daulatpur village, about 40 km from state capital Lucknow, on which he is setting up a high school for girls. He will lay the foundation stone for the school on January 27. Hectic preparations are on at the 10-bigha plot that Big B recently purchased from different farmers in Daulatpur village to build what has been christened the ‘Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Girls Intermediate College’, a school for higher secondary students.

The foundation day will have Amitabh accompanied by wife Jaya, son Abhishek and Aishwarya. To add political spice to the show, there will be Bachchan family friend Amar Singh, the Samajwadi Party general secretary who was instrumental in getting Bachchan the earlier government land allotment in violation of laws.

They made it public this Wednesday when they placed half-a-page advertisement in a marathi newspaper ‘Saamna’ wishing Bal Thackeray on his birthday by Mr Sanjay Dutt and Manyata Dutt. Media is all abuzz with the news that Sanjay and Manyata had tied the knot on October 19, 2006 and that Dutt has her name tattooed on his body.

However, sources close to Dutts say that these are all rumours and that it was Manyata and not Sanjay who is away in Hyderabad shooting, who personally vetted the advertisement before it was sent to print

What is undeniable, however, is that the lady is at present completely in charge of Sanjay’s life and his household and that his sisters, Priya and Namrata and daughter Trishala are not particularly enamoured of her. Recently, one of Sanjay’s close friends points out, Manyata insisted on having the house she shares with Sanjay painted in pink, a fact that did not go down well with the rest of his family. Well, his family may not be in a mood to accept her, but tis true that Manyata has stood by Sanjay through his thick and thin and that Sanjay is completely in love with the lady.

Sohail Khan’s next production ‘Mr. & Mrs. Khanna’ has finally settled with Kareena Kapoor as the female lead opposite Salman Khan. The film to be directed by debutant Prem Soni plans to follow the current trend of Bollywood where a host of big stars do cameos out of their mutual friendship.

The little birdie informs that SRK has agreed to do a cameo for the film owing to his friendship with Sallu Bhai. Sohail is also hoping that Salman will be able to help him get Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and even newcomer Deepika for cameo roles in the film. The shooting for the film is supposed to begin some time in March this year.

Yes, she finally does it- the act which almost all the top Bollywood heroines have done. Kareena Kapoor dons a bikini for Yashraj Films’ ‘Tashan’ which has her off-screen love Saif Ali Khan pairing opposite her. The scene, shot in Greece, was kept under wraps and not many were aware of it. But Kareena was preparing for it for months end. She was on a special diet and power yoga to lose weight.

All the efforts have given their results and reportedly, when Kareena appeared wearing the bikini, jaws dropped on the sets. As for her new beau, Saif, he was cool about it and was happy for Kareena, as she has never looked so sexy and hot. The single shot that shows Kareena in her bikini coming out of a swimming pool is going to be the main USP of the film.

A lot of buzz is there about the remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1980 film about re-incarnation. To be produced by Gulshan Kumar and Krishan Kumar the film is titled ‘Karzzzz’. We had provided you with the first look of this Himesh Reshammiyan starrer and now the latest one is about the female lead who will play the role played by Tina Munim in the original movie. The movie will launch a fresh face named Shweta for the role. Shweta is the daughter of Producer-director Indra Kumar who has given us blockbuster films like Dil, Beta, Ishq, Masti and the recent laugh riot Dhamaal.

Directed by Satish Kaushik, the film also stars Urmila Matondkar, Gulshan Grover, Danny Denzongpa and Rohini Hatangadi. The shooting is scheduled to commence from 25th January and the film will be shot in South Africa, Kenya & Mumbai. T-Series has bought the remake rights from Mukta Arts for the original film ‘Karz’ directed by Subhash Ghai.
