Sagarika Ghatge was the highest goal-scorer in ‘Chak De India’ and in real life too, she seems to be the highest goal-scorer among all the other girls in her team. The gorgeous actress has been signed by Percept Picture Company for their film ‘Raftaar’ (working title) to be directed by noted ad film maker Shamin Desai. The film also has Neha Dhupia and Aditya Pancholi in pivotal roles and Sagarika has been paired against Bollywood’s serial kisser Emraan Hashmi. Shooting for the film is currently underway in Kuala Lumpur and the film is expected to release sometime early next year.
Inside sources say that for this role, Esha Deol was the first choice but she seemed to have asked for a high price. Sarita Patil, Head of feature films at Percept Picture Company, confirms the news saying,
“Yes we have signed Sagarika for Raftaar. She has replaced Esha Deol as we couldn’t agree on the price. After things didn’t work out with Esha, we had a couple of options in mind and our director Shamin had seen Sagarika’s work in Chak De India and felt she would fit the part. Sagarika’s is a full-fledged lead role opposite Emraan Hashmi.”

The Saifeena couple gave such a successful show on August 21 at Sharjah for ‘Jashan 2008‘ in the Middle East that the Morani Brothers, the organizers are now keen on taking the duo to Europe for a series of shows.
Mohammed Morani said,
“The Sharjah show was extremely successful. We are now organizing a series of shows across Europe and the Middle East. Saif and Kareena have a huge fan following in these places. People throng to the stadium to watch them especially after the success of Race and Jab We Met. Also, Saif and Kareena make a wonderful pair. They are both good looking and exude power that makes the audience go ‘wow’. Saif and Kareena gave solo performances and the results are evident with the success of ‘Jashan 2008′, so we can imagine the response when the duo performs together.”
Kareena said,
“The show had a crowd of 20,000 people and it was just amazing. Saif is in talks with the Morani Brothers for the shows across Europe and the Middle East.”
To be known here that for the Sharjah show, the two did not perform together. But the organizers are hoping to cash in on their popularity and get them to do certain items together. Now, this is a win-win situation for everybody. The organizers get their coffers filled, the couple gets a whopping payment with the bonus of some time out together for romance and the fans get to see their favorite stars in action!
For the first time, the rocking pair of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor will appear together for director Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’. The film is loosely based on Chetan Bhagat’s ‘5 Point someone’ on 3 engineering students. The shooting for the film already started early this week when Hirani took a shot with Madhavan in an aircraft. Now, the leading pair of Aamir and Kareena will take part in a 20-day schedule in Ladakh.
Hirani said,
“We are literally off to a flying start. It was amazing to shoot inside a real aircraft. We are really excited and raring to go.”
The film is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, written by Hirani and Abhijeet Joshi. The lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire and music has been composed by Shantanu Moitra. The movie also stars Sahrman Joshi and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

Gorgeous 2005 Miss India contestant Kaveri Jha after making space for her in Tollywood is now set to spread her splendor and glamour in Bollywood with the launch of HIJACK on 29th August 2008. In Kunal Shivdasani, an ad maker, produced film HIJACK Kaver is acting opposite to Shiney Ahuja.

Mallika Sherawat is having a dream hut built for herself at Vizhinjam near Kovalam beach in Kerala. G. Shankar, the chief of Habitat Technology Group, is working on the hut and said that the hut would be ready to move in.
‘Mallika is expected to arrive here in the next few days and give the final approval to complete her home. This is a one hall and one bedroom hut and built with mud and overlooks the majestic Arabian Sea near Vizhinjam. I’m sorry I can’t reveal the exact location. The roof of the hut is yet to be decided and it would be finalised once she is here. Most probably it would be one with bamboo and tiles,’ said Shankar.
Reports indicate that the hut is coming up on a small hill top and one has to reach the place on foot. There is no road for cars. So, Mallika here hopes to find some time alone with herself on the hill top.
