‘Twitter’ has been getting increasing participation from Bollywood stars and one actress to be quite regular with her Twitter page ‘@MallikaLA’ is sexy voluptuous beauty Mallika Sherawat who has more than 2500 fans following her on the Twitter.
Sherawat has been strengthening her bonds with Hollywood lately with attending the award ceremonies, making celebrity friends and even has a milkshake named after her in Hollywood, but the sex kitten misses her country and took a decision to join the Twitter club, so that she could keep in touch with her desi fans.
Mallika says, “One of the hard things about spending time in the U.S. was being so far away from my fans in India. I hope to also further the connection between Hollywood and Bollywood.”
“It can be fun, and can connect people. And when people are connected, amazing things can happen,” she adds.
And here she is rewarded again for efforts. She has been honored as the first Indian star to be invited to visit Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, California. She will be visiting the Twitter headquarters on July 14 where she’ll greet her fans, tour the Twitter office and give inspirational remarks to Twitter employees during their lunch break.
Sherawat’s upcoming film ‘Hissss’ directed by renowned Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch and co-starring Irrfan Khan is almost complete and is the first Bollywood film to be represented by a major Hollywood agency that is William Morris Endeavor.
This summer, if you come across some fully tonsured old man, which also includes his eyebrows, just take a closer look because it could be none other than Amitabh Bachchan himself who has donned this unique look for his forthcoming film ‘Pa’ directed by R. Balakrishnan aka Balki. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan.
The storyline of the film has been guarded secretly but if rumors are to be believed it deals with the story of a child who ages much faster than any normal child would do. The surprise element of the film lies in the fact that Amitabh Bachchan will be playing Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan’s son in the film.
Recently, the team carried out the shoot of the film in locations of Delhi, whereby, a team of highly qualified make up experts worked on Big B’s look for a whopping 6 hours at a stretch and the results were more than satisfactory when Big B’s fans failed to recognize him in the getup of the bald old man.
It so happened that when some locals got to know that Amitabh Bachchan was shooting there, a huge crowd accumulated but after a long wait they returned frustrated and dejected cursing the unit for spreading false rumors.
Balki confirmed the news saying, “Yes, it’s true. Fans of Amitabh came rushing when they heard he was shooting in a school nearby. The fans stayed for two hours, loitered, went around him and went away complaining that there was no Amitabh. They just couldn’t recognize him.”
Time and again, ace tennis player Sania Mirza had been linked to famous Bollywood stars including Shahid Kapoor and other eligible celebrities, but finally the beauty with talents has tied knots with her childhood friend and Hyderabad-based businessman Mohammed Sohrab Mirza, 23, an MBA student and son of a city-based businessman.
The engagement ceremony was held on Friday night at a star hotel in Hyderabad amidst relatives and close friends of the two families. The celebrity guest list included Badminton player P Gopichand, D Purandareswari, D Venkateshawara Rao, actor Vishnu and GVK Reddy were present on the occasion.
There was also some minor ‘hungama’ at the engagement party when two youths demanded her family to cancel the engagement claiming that they were in love with Sania. However, the security men handled the situation.
Sania Mirza looked gorgeous attired in a light golden and emerald green swarovski studded ensemble worth 20 million rupees by designer duo Shantanu-Nilkhil which she wanted to match with her antique jadawi-zewar(Choker). She was gifted a solitaire ring worth a whooping 10 million rupees by her fiancée.
Katrina Kaif has worked very hard these days and with her recnt release ‘New York’ enjoying huge success, she well deserves a holiday.
Katrina says, “Akshay had his party for Kambkakkt Ishq. I want to be here for our party. It’s a very special film for all of us. And I didn’t want to miss the moment for anything. Besides, all my sisters aren’t reaching London until 14th. So I can delay by a day.”
Katrina, who is very much in a party mood is going on a 3 month long holiday where she will be with her mother, brother and sisters and will also celebrate her birthday with them. Her family has plaaned a surprise for her on her birthday and Katrina just wants to relish the suspense.
As for her holiday destination, she says, “We net-searched, googled and finally found a place we wanted to visit.It was tough because there was no place the entire family would agree on. Or if we all liked a place there was no vacancy. We finally found a place that we all liked.”
“Quite honestly I haven’t been with my whole family for a long time. I’ve been preparing for my holiday for ages. I’ve been working like a mad woman trying to finish all my work on time. It got especially hectic as the time for me to leave approached. I was dubbing for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and shooting two songs for Priyan’s De Dana Dan. At one point I thought I wouldn’t finish on time. But I did. And I’m really looking forward to my time with my family.”

Rakhi Sawant has expressed her desire to look like a princess and have a ragnd wedding like that of Aishwarya Rai on her wedding at the grand finale of Rakhi Ka Swyamwar.
Neeta Lulla is designing her wedding lehenga and choli which will have a traditional Rajasthani look in five different colors but Neeta has refused to disclose the cost of the dress.
Neeta says, “Rakhi told us she wants to look like a princess that day – something like she has never looked before. I have given her a very colourful ensemble – it’s a very conservative outfit.For her wedding day, Rakhi would be wearing a lehenga-choli in five different colours with ornate kundan work to give her an ethnic Rajasthani look.”
Her necklace for the wedding will be designed by Zayed Khan’s famous jewellery designer sister Farah Khan and will cost around Rs. 30 lakhs.
Farah says,”The choker that Rakhi will be wearing for her wedding day is very heavy. It looks very traditional and covers almost her entire neck.”
Rakhi is all set to marry the winner of this reality show in which the contestants hail from Delhi, Mumbai, Rishikesh, Jaipur, Kanpur and Toronto.
Priyanka Chopra is overworked these days. She has three back-to-back releases this month, Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’, Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘What’s Your Rashee?” and Jugal Hansraj’s ‘Pyaar Impossible’. She is playing 12 different roles in ‘What’s Your Rashee?’ (just as Kamal Hassan did in ‘Dashaavataar’ or what Sanjeev Kapoor essayed in ‘Naya Din Nayi Raat’). Not to mention here that this kind of work demanded too much of hard work and dedication from the lady.
As a result, Priaynka’s health has suffered and she has been in and out of hospital quite frequently these days. Her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, is supervising her diet these days and she is under strict instructions from her that she should have home-cooked meals. So, Priyanka carries her own food even when she is in five star hotels.
Once her schedule eases, Priyanka wants to take a good break. “I am going to take sleeping pills and wake up after three days, “she says.
She is hardly over with her breakup with Shekhar Suman’s son, Adhyayan Suman, and she is being linked with Puri Jagannath, the director of one of the South films she is working in. Kangana is obviously quite upset with the rumors and says, “I should free myself from my last experience. I need to be ready to fall in love again. Why can’t people imagine somebody single for sometime?”
Kangana and Adhyayan, both have handled their breakup in a mature manner. They had no ugly exchange of words and the parting was as respectful as should be.
Kangana says, “We respect each other far too much to insult each other. Yes, I was shocked at first. Adhyayan doesn’t want to be in a relationship at this point of time. T thought it was a nightmare but on second thoughts, I understand. I too dissuade my younger brother from being In a relationship at this age.”
Adhyayan too states that he decided to end this relationship just because he needs to focus on his career which is just one film old right now. States Adhyayan, “I can’t afford to mess it up. I haven’t taken my father’s help and neither have I told him to make a film for me. I’m doing it all for myself. I don’t want to take a chance. We are still friends for love can always wait and career won’t.”
PETA has always sought the help of Bollywood celebrities in its campaigns for creating awareness for animals. After they had roped in John Abraham to urge people to stop cruelty against birds, they have now approached the elite Indian couple Abhishek & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to help them in creating awareness about lovebirds which are the most commonly sold birds in spite of being an endangered species.
PETA wrote a letter to the Bachchan couple which read as, “As India’s most famous ‘lovebirds’, we believe that you are uniquely suited to help bring attention to the plight of these smart and sensitive birds. We would like to arrange a photo shoot with you for a ‘Love Birds in Cages’ ad to raise awareness about the issue.”
The relation between PETA and Bachchan family is not new. Not only was Big B voted as India’s ”hottest vegetarian” three times by PETA supporters, Aishwarya had once written a letter to PETA on behalf of Baixinha, the endangered black rhino who is now thriving at South African’s SanWild Wildlife Sanctuary.
Kareena Kapoor is on a high these days. Not only is she the reigning Bollywood style diva, she has many leading endorsement brands in her kitty. Her latest release ‘Kambakkth Ishq’ has received a grand opening at the box-office.
Now, she sizzles in blue as she appears on the cover of Maxim India edition for the month of July 2009. This is the second time she is scorching the covers of this magazine. And we do not blame the mag for this. When the copies with Kareena on the cover fly off the bookstalls, she will be the obvious choice as the cover girl.
Kamal Hassan gave entirely new heights to Indian cinema and his contribution to the entertainment industry cannot be over emphasized. Now, when his daughter Shruti is debuting with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd.’s film ‘Luck’ directed by Soham Shah, it is but obvious that cine goers are looking forward to it.
Shruti has given a bikini scene for the flick and that too without any qualms. Says the sporty female, ”When Soham narrated the script, I did not even consider the bikini thing as a big deal it was logical to the premise. While shooting for it, the weather was very weird that day. It was freezing cold, but apart from that it was like any other scene in the film for me.”
Director Soham praised Shruti saying, ”Shruti did work out to get a toned body. Moreover she worked more hard to maintain it. We shot the sequence in Cape Town. The temperature was only two degrees. She had to brave the icy weather for the shoot.”
‘The scene involves Imran Khan, Ravi Kishaan and Mithun Chakraborthy. Shruti was not at all apprehensive of wearing a two-piece swim wear as she was aware of it from before. The scene is totally justified as Ravi Kishaan’s character pins his eyes on her,” he adds justifying the scene.
Binal Shah, the designer, says about the outfit, ”I bought a plain Bebe bikini that fitted Shruti perfectly. I then embellished it with mother of pearls in shades of green that matched the night pool ambience.”
Imran Khan’s next project to hit the screens would be ‘Luck’ and the guy is leaving no stones unturned to reach out all his fans and promote his flick at this crucial juncture.

Imran Khan will soon be in London with Sanjay Dutt and Shruti Hassan to promote the film and he plans to personally meet his fans in London. Imran will be with them on 11th July 2009 when he visits Cineworld Ilford and Cineworld Feltham.
Talking about the love of his fans and also about London, Imran says, “The UK has always been special to me, as I have many friends and family there. The audiences have also been extremely supportive of me and of my releases. I’m really looking forward to interacting with everyone at Ilford and Feltham on Saturday.”
