Mandira Bedi, the hot contestant of Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi’s Season 2, will be absebt from action for a few weeks as she has fractured her ankle which will take over six weeks to heal. The fracture took place when Mandira was practicing a stunt for show’s press conference which was supposed to be held at Mukesh Mills in Colaba.
Mandira’s hubby Raj Kaushal blames Colors for this and says, “Only Akshay Kumar was supposed to do the stunt. The girls were informed at the last minute, so they didn’t have enough time to rehearse. Rupali Ganguly and Nauheed Cyrusi opted out at the last minute. Mandira, too, should have opted out of the stunt as she wasn’t confident. She was asked to jump from a height of 13 feet. She jumped and had a nasty fall. They brought out a few ice packs but there was no doctor on the sets.”
He added, “The crew left Mandira unattended at Mukesh Mills. Mandira went to Breach Candy Hospital alone. An X-ray confirmed a hairline fracture which will be supported by a cast for four weeks. After the cast is removed, she will have to rest for two more weeks. Her work schedule has gone for a toss. She is committed to her play and other assignments. Isn’t it important to have everything in place before asking anyone to do a stunt? We just wish everything was done in a professional way.”
Kaushal wrote on his Twitter page, “I am appalled with the safety measures in our tv industry. Mandira has fractured her ankle. She was performing a stunt without any safety measures, medics, or equipment present on her Khatron ke Khiladi promotion shoot. What is even worse is that no one from the production team or channel Colors bothered to check on her. Truly disgusting.”
However, the channel’s spokesman feels that it is a part of the game and brushed off the entire episode as a minor incident. He said, “When the team of Fear Factor was rehearsing for the press conference, Mandira unfortunately twisted her ankle. All the safety arrangements, including layers of safety mattresses, were in place. But incidents like these cannot be ruled out. We hope Mandy recovers from this soon.”
Bollywood’s sultry actress, Sridevi, was last seen in the 1999 Malayalam movie ‘Devaraagam’. Sri also made an exception for the sake of Salman with whom she featured in a number of projects including ‘Chandramukh’” and ‘Chand Ka Tukda’. The last Hindi film she acted in was 1997 release ‘Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha’. Since then the beauty has been missing the action and the spotlight.
It is again Salman who has managed to bring her out of the shell by making her appear in one of the episodes of the game show, ‘Dus ka Dum’, which will be aired on Sony TV this Saturday. The actress has done this favor to promote her husband’s forthcoming movie, ‘Wanted’ and will be accompanied by husband Boney Kapoor. Prabhu Deva and Ayesha Takia will also join Boney and Sridevi on the show.
“Now we can all shamelessly promote our film ‘Wanted’,” said Salman.
You may like him or you may hate him, but you can never deny the fact that he is the sexiest hunk of our industry. And no wonder the audience went ga-ga over Salman Khan as he show-stopped the ramp for two designers at the grand finale of recently concluded Men’s Fashion Week.
Unfortunately, Salman was unwell due to a bout of flu during the show as he was quoted saying, “”I am not well and I have a severe headache.” But there was not a hint of flaw in his attitude as he removed the jacket in style on reaching the head of the ramp.
The 43-year-old Khan was there to support the cause of his own NGO ‘Being Human’ and dressed in a black suit, he walked down the ramp twice, once for Ashish Soni’s collection inspired by the chase sequence in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Don’ and again for designer-duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s ‘Hypernature’.
“Salman is a very close friend. I understand his sensibility and style of clothing. I have worked with him in the past for Mayur Suitings and I know what he likes to wear,” said designer Ashish Soni.
The red carpet for the World Premiere of Yash Raj Films, ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ was held at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival on the early afternoon of September 13th at the Roy Thompson Hall. Rani Mukherjee was there in a majestic purple gown by Franco Ferrara, with her hair tied half-up. Since the film has a Punjabi background, the event kick started with a live performance by Bhangra troop and Dhol player. Rani was accompanied by the debutant Director Anurag Singh.
The festival saw some famous Hollywood celebrities who were there to promote their flicks. Actor George Clooney was present to promote his film Men Who Stare at Goats.
Actor Matt Damon was there with his wife Luciana Barroso, for the screening on his film, The Informant.
Actress Demi Moore arrived at the The Joneses screening during the Festival. Mariah Carey arrived at the screening of Precious.
If you thought that it was only Sameera Reddy and Minissha Lamba who graced the KFW with their ramp walk, reconsider your thoughts because dazzling this gala event were petite beauty Amrita Rao, Bong bombshell Riya Sen, Neetu Chndra, Nandana Sen and Khiladi Mandira Bedi who sashayed on the ramp. Amrita Rao walked on ramp to display collection of Manish Malhotra accompanied by TV star Ronit Roy and Football star Baichung Bhutia. Riya was the show stopper for designers Kaushik and Pallob during the Day 2 of ‘Kolkata Fashion week II’. Neetu Chandra displayed a creation by designer Soumitra Mondal during the Day 3 of ‘Kolkata Fashion week II’ while bengali babe Nandana Sen exhibited the creation of ‘Story Of Weaves’. Kolkata Fashion Week-II was every inch full of style, glamour and glitter as it saw famous Bollywood hotties like Sameera Reddy and Minissha Lamba set the ramp afire with their dazzling presence. Sameera was the show-stopper for Neeta Lulla’s bridal collection and she made the head turns as she sashayed the ramp in a red lehenga.
“I think Neeta’s Indian wear rocks and when I get married she is going to make me the best bridal outfit ever. It’s going to be the style statement of the century,” said Sameera.
Minissha Lamba show-stopped for designer duo Monapali and she had loads of praises for the KFW as she was seen attired in a traditional embroidered ghagra-choli.
“There’s been an astronomical change in the KFW event in just six months time. It’s transformed a lot from the maiden KFW show (held in April),” said Minissha adding, ”This time I can see that it’s more professional and equivalent to any fashion show held in Mumbai or New Delhi. It’s as good and organised as that.”

Right from the time Freida Pinto and Dev Patel worked together in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, the duo has been linked together and they have been denying the rumors.
However, the love birds have been spotted together time and again looking very much in love with each other.
Recently, they were photographed together once again as they were leaving a Fashion’s Night Out event at jewellery store ‘Asprey’ in Bond Street. They were beaming together in each other’s company as they were walking hand in hand. Pinto was carrying one of Asprey’s famous purple bags and was attired in a one-shouldered purple mini-dress and black satin peep-toe heels. Patel was dressed in a black trousers suit. The young couple were guests at the BAFTA private dinner at the store, which recognised young British talent.
Pinto, at present, is in London shooting for Allen movie and Patel has been seen with her in the capital at many occasions. This week alone they attended a Hermes party on Monday night, as well as the Asprey bash.
This is quite in contrast with the statement the actress made when she attended the GQ Men of the Year Awards recently.
Freida had stated, “Why does everybody ask me where Dev is? I don’t know where he is, I don’t have him on a leash, he’s doing his own thing. I don’t know what’s going on. I find it funny that people are so interested in what we’re doing.”
Bollywood stars have always been known for their association with social cause. Now, Priyanka Chopra does her bit by supporting the ”Save the Children” campaign which aims to provide quality education to eight million children living in conflict-affected areas. The campaign will also work in the area of providing, securing and protecting children’s rights to food, shelter, health care, freedom from violence, abuse and exploitation.
Priyanka has many other associations with social causes and she expressed her hope that the campaign would be able to spread awareness on how education can change the future of young children.
“Save the Children is associated with about 11 states in India. I hope at some point of time to be able to visit at all places where Save the Children works and see for myself how much help I can be of and also in every possible way create awareness about how important education is in our country,” said Priyanka Chopra to the reporters at a press conference to announce her association with Bvlgari Save the Children campaign in Mumbai.

Directed by Prem Soni, ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ is yet another awaited comedy this year. The film stars Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. The movie also has Govinda in a special appearance and Preity Zinta in an item number. The music for this emotional and romantic drama has been composed by Sajid -Wajid, who have earlier given hits like ‘mujhse shaadi karogi’, ‘maine pyaar kyun kiya’ and the latest ‘wanted’ with Salman.
Though Salman and Kareena have done quite a few films earlier, but they haven’t managed to create much stirs onscreen as a couple as yet. Hope this Diwali, the cinegoers get to witness a sizzling chemistry between these two very talented and very stylish stars.

Actress Lara Dutta was last seen in ‘Billu Barber’ in a de-glam avatar. She is now set to add the oomph factor in the forthcoming ‘Blue’ with her bikini avatar. Lara has worked very hard with strict diet and training regime to get the lean look that she flaunts in a bikini in the film. She has also learnt swimming and scuba diving for the film. It may be mentioned here that earlier Lara used to shy away from the roles which required her to swim. She has a titillating underwater romantic song with Sanjay Dutt in the flick.
‘Blue’ is apparently Bollywood’s first underwater film and perhaps the most expensive one too. Film’s director Anthony D’Souza has used latest techniques to give it an international look. The music of the film is given by none other than music maestro AR Rahman. Shot in Bahamas, the movie also stars Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Katrina Kaif and Rahul Dev who will be seen swimming, diving and escaping predatory sharks.
Akshay’s character is called Aarav which is his son’s name in real life. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of a fisherman, who also happens to be Akshay’s friend.
It has barely been three months when Mallika Sherawat launched a milkshake named after her. Now Kareena Kapoor follows the same route and has launches an international brand of pizza loaded with cheese layers but ironically called ‘Kareena Kapoor Size-Zero Pizza’. The pizza has toppings of finely diced chicken, red chillies, baby corn and is spiked with onions.
Kareena is obviously happy with this and says, “I love Italian food. I must eat pizza at least twice a week; and yes, I’m flattered that a pizza has been named after me.’’
Talking about cheese, Bebo adds, “It’s a misconception that cheese is unhealthy. My dietician has put me on a cheese diet for the longest time. Cheese has the right fat percentage required for the body and if eaten right, it can be advantageous rather than detrimental.’’
Talking about cheese, she says, “Honestly speaking, I’m no longer a size zero. I’m slightly rounded because I need to be that way for my role in Karan Johar’s Hindi version of Step Mom.”
It may be mentioned here that Kareena will star in the Bollywood remake of ‘Stepmom’ which will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma productions in association with Shahrukh’s Red Chilles Entertainment. The film has Kareena playing a businesswoman who’s in a live-in relationship with Arjun Rampal’s character, who in turn is recently divorced from Kajol’s character. For her role, Kareena required to get away with her size-zero figure and get back her original curvy avatar.
