Lisa Ray’s blog ‘The Yellow Diaries’ revealed the news that the model-turned-actress is suffering from Multiple Myeloma – an incurable cancer of White Blood Cells.
On 8th September, Lisa posted, “I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd. Started my first cycle of treatment July 2nd.Notlong ago.”
The actress continued, “For me, it was a relief to hear what was wrong. The plasma cells in my bone marrow were rampaging, multiplying, squeezing out the red blood cells and it was time to begin doing something about it. I was also tired of being tired all the time. And you just know when something is not kosher with your body. So when I sat there with Bobcat — my life partner and reservoir of Yellow—and got the news I didn’t react and I didn’t cry. I’m an actress, believe me, I can be dramatic. Not just then though.”
Incidentally, the actress decided to get a medical checkup only, “a few months ago, my bone marrow started sending me messages. I was always exhausted, pale, drained… The lack of oxygen made me a serial yawner and spacier than a displaced Czarina. Little did I know, but my hemoglobin had fallen to levels where even a dedicated Blood sucker would turn their thoughts to revival… I got a routine blood test and the results sent me to the hospital for a blood transfusion.”
“…And then I stopped travelling and returned to Canada. Got myself tested by Dr Susy Lin, landed in emergency and eventually got full membership into the Cancer Club. That’s how I found out I have Multiple Myeloma.”
Where Lisa did not loose her cool on getting the news, her friends and well-wishers are devastated by the news. Vikram Bhatt, the director of ‘Kasoor,’ which marked the debut of Lisa in Bollywood said, “I am in complete shock, I’m going to check on her immediately.”
Shamim Sarif, the director of Lisa’s upcoming flick ‘I Can’t Think Straight’ said on Twitter, “I have known since her diagnosis but at this point Lisa wants to truly raise awareness and funding to make sure this incurable disease finds a cure.”
All our best wishes to the actress so that she can fight the deadly disease!

Sonam Kapoor created a lot of buzz as she entered the tinsel town but unfortunately both her films ‘Saawariya’ and ‘Delhi 6’ bombed at the box office. So, the actress now prefers to keep tight lipped about her forthcoming ventures. However, she has her own list of achievements in her kitty.
She has been nominated as the only Indian to be featured in The Hollywood Reporter Magazine. She has also been included in the “Next Generation: Asia Class of 2009?, which features Asia’s new generation film personalities. Sonam has recently been nominated as the brand ambassador of NGO Khushii and is busy in its fund raising activity at Delhi.
When asked about her upcoming film Aisha, the petite actress refused to talk about it and said, “I am here to talk only about Khushii and not my film.”
She added, “I am honored to be associated with Khushii and I appreciate the work they are doing for the welfare of people. You should all work for the cause. A moment of giving is greater than a moment of receiving”.
Talking about Delhi, Sonam said, “I’m in love with Delhi. I love the food, parties and the people.”

Shruti Hassan made her big Bollywood debut with ‘Luck’ with Imran Khan but apparently her ‘luck’ did not favour her and the film bombed at the box office but this is anyway has not disheartened Shruti.
Shruti calls her father Kamal Hassan as her support system. She says, “I want to explore the whole world and I have my daddy’s full cooperation in this. I have self-drawn boundaries which I’d never attempt to cross.”
Shruti is also fond of Kamal Hassan’s prsent partner Gauthami and this does not go down well with her mom Saarika which has resulted in a situation that the two are not in talking terms with each other. Says Shruti, “My mother doesn’t like my friendship with Gauthami Madam. She is angry with me because of this count and avoids speaking to me. I’m not bothered about that.”
While Shruti seems to be happy with her veteran star daddy, you check out the gal oozing perfect attitude on the covers of FHM this month.

You may not be able to recognize the babe in shots below in the first instance, but let us tell you that she is the same gorgeous Himachal beauty Kangana Ranaut who has graced the silver screen for many hits like ‘Gangster’, ‘Life in a Metro’, ‘fashion’ and the recent ‘Raaz 2’. The girl has obviously gone in for a lip surgery and has come out with awful results.
Kangana was spotted with swollen lips in Bandra when she was out on a shopping spree. But when the media and her fans gathered round her to get a few clicks, they were shocked to see that the area around her lips was swollen and she looked awful.
Our bit of advice to the Bollywood beauties- It is ultimately the acting talent which counts and going under the knife to get more of what you already have does result in a loss more often than not….

Since the time Preity Zinta donned on the cap of a IPL team owner and slipped perfectly into the role of a businesswoman, she has seemed to vanish from the silver screen. However, the lady has finally done a sizzling item number for the forthcoming ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ for the sake of her special friendship with Salman Khan.
Preity does look really ‘happening’ in the sing which is also titles ‘happening’ for she has slogged real hard to get that ‘happening’ look. She not only followed a special diet but also took up a tough exercise regime and yoga.
However, the flip side of the song is that it looks very much like the ‘Kajra Re’ number done by Aishwarya Rai where Preity is seen making a similar gang of guys sway to her verve. However, the director Prem Soni brushes off this similarity saying, “Unlike Ash, who was just a part of ‘Kajra Re’, Preity plays an important role in the film.”
Preity Zinta said to a news daily, “It’s an interesting cameo. The song’s called ‘Happening’ and I agreed to do it because director Prem Soni is a friend. And since Salman has played Prem so often, let’s just say this one is for Prem.”

She created stirs when she replaced the most beautiful and most popular international face of Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai, as the brand ambassador of ‘Nakshatra’ diamond jewelry last year. However, with the way she is ascending the ladder of success, it does not come as a surprise when she is now declared as the brand ambassador of cosmetic giant Olay’s Natural White cream that launched a white radiance range in India recently.
Talking about Katrina Kaif, she is the most downloaded Indian actress on the net with most reputed brand endorsements in her kitty. Talking about her selection of brand endorsements, Katrina said: “Be it a skin, hair or a jewellery product, I am very selective about the brands I endorse. I undertake extensive research on the company and try to ensure that the brand delivers on its promises made to the user of the product.”

After Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krissh’, Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Drona’ and SRK’s forthcoming ‘Ra. 1’ which will see SRK as the desi spiderman, perfectionist Aamir Khan may also be seen now as Hanuman, a modern day super-hero who can fly over mountains and skyscrapers and rescue the good from evil.
Produced by Uru Patel, the movie will have the characters of Rama and Ravan played by Hollywood stars Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman. Shilpa Shetty had originally been chosen for the role of Sita but she backed out later and now the makers are on a lookout for a new international face to play Sita.
However, Aamir is yet to give his nod. His approval will be based on the script and also on his condition that his signature will have to be on every page of the script so that no changes happen in the script during shooting.
The film will be directed by Chuck Russell (of Eraser, The Mask, The Scorpion King, Mandrake fame). If Aamir signs the project, the first schedule of Hanuman is expected to be held in Rajasthan at the end of the year. The rest of the film will be shot at Hollywood studios.
It has been long now since Kareena Kapoor replaced Soha Ali Khan as the brand ambassador of the apparel retail chain Globus. Given the style diva status that Kareena holds in the industry, choosing Kareena for the promotion of the brand was a natural decision of the company.
Since then, we have seen Kareena in many photoshoots for the brand, each oozing style, charisma and attitude. Ultra slim and with a perfect figure, Kareena will now be seen sizzling again in the latest photoshoot for Globus International for their collection of Autumn Winter 2009. The shots are absolutely stunning despite the fact that there is no skin show from the diva.

Both Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty are the owners of the IPL teams. Both have been successful actresses on the big screen. So, it is but natural that there would be jealousy, bitching and cat-fights between the two but the kind of statements Preity gave in for Shilpa on the occasion of FICCI’s 10th anniversary celebration can be called least professional.
When asked about the Shilpa-Preity IPL competition, Preity said, “She is not going to play cricket.” She then added, “I own a team, I am an investor in the team, I am the chairperson of the team. It is very difficult for them to digest that I am the boss.”
Preity here supposedly forgot that even she is not going to play cricket and that Shilpa is the boss too of her IPL team Rajasthan Royals. Shetty girl was politically correct saying, “Our teams are in competition.”
