Firdous textile, Faisalabad, has hired our fashion diva Kareena Kapoor to do a photo shoot for the upcoming catalogue. Now, the Billboards of Lahore and Karachi are adorned with Kareena draped in clothes of the brand ranging from party wear gowns to traditional salwar-kameez. Kareena was paid Rs 3 crore to endorse the brand and the ad campaign was shot in Dubai. The billboards have become quite popular in the Middle East.
Kareena Kapoor is happy with the way she has been presented by the designers of Pakistan. She said “I’m really impressed with the quality of designs which were presented to me.”

Raveena Tandon took voluntary retirement from the silver screen as the glamour girl post her marriage with Anil Thadani and kept content with playing serious roles and judging talents on the smaller screen. Now, the actress is set once again to prove her acting skills with her latest movie, ‘The Laboratory’, for which she is currently shooting in Kolkata.
Directed by Raja Sen, this is a bilingual movie (Bengali and Hindi) which is based on a story written by Rabindranath Tagore. The movie revolves around the story of an uneducated Punjabi woman, Sohini (Raveena) who gets married to a Bengali scientist, who dies soon. How the woman decides to educate herself and ensure her husband’s works live on is what makes up the rest of the story. Besides Raveena, the movie stars Sabyasachi Chakraborty as the scientist Nandakishore and Arpita as Sohini’s daughter, Neela.

Our actresses are facing repeated mishaps this month. After Katrina Kaif gets injured on the sets of ‘Tees Maar Khan’, it is the turn of Himachal beauty Kangana Ranaut to face injury and this time it is serious. It was on the sets of Anand Rai’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ in Jalandhar where an action sequence was being shot.
Kangana was to ride a bike with a pillion rider. However, as the shoot progressed, the two lost balance, the bike skid and fell on the actress’s foot. Kangana’s injury was aggravated by her anklets which pierced her leg. The crew members immediately rushed her to nearest hospital where reports revealed serious damage and minor fracture. Kangana has been advised a week’s bed rest and producer Shailesh Singh has arranged for the best orthopaedic surgeon for her.
However, director Anand Raj is all praises for Kangana’s professional attitude because even while the actress was fighting the pain in hospital, she was concerned about the next shooting schedule.

Katrina Kaif has not been having a very healthy time it seems. Not long back, she passes out at the sets of a film. But what happened on the sets of Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ this time was very unexpected. During the shoot of a romantic and sexy song sequence, as Katrina moved towards her onscreen co-star Akshay Kumar, the actor’s jaw hit Katrina’s head and she started to bleed. Katrina was so scared to see the sight of blood that she started feeling giddy. Her misery turned into sobs when Akshay scared her saying that she would now need a minimum of 4 stitches on her head.
However, when a scared Katrina started to cry, Akshay laughingly said that he was pulling her leg. The injury was a minor one and the shooting was soon resumed.
After her much talked out breakup with childhood friend and fiancée Sohrab Mirza, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza find a life partner in Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik whom she is set to marry in April. Shoaib’s entire family will leave for India on April 7 and formal nikaah ceremony would take place on April 10 or 11. The Walima or reception is expected to be held in Lahore on April 16 or 17.
Shoaib is obviously excited over this and wrote in his Twitter page, “Thanks for all your support. And the news of me marrying to Sania is true. Inshallah will get married in April.
I fully understand what it takes to be an international sports person and I will support Sania in her career as long as she wishes to play.”
“Representing India at the 2012 Olympics is very important for her and I will be the proudest husband if she can win a medal for her country,” he added.
On the other hand, Sania too is quite hopeful that the relationship will work out this time and said, “My wedding inshallah is going to be the biggest day of my life. I have been in the constant glare for too long and would appreciate privacy at this very personal moment in my life.”
Sania’s mother, Nasima said, “Marriages are made in heaven.”
Hrithik Roshan’s fans have yet another reason to wait his mega project ‘Kites’ as the actor makes his singing debut with the film. As such, the music of the film is being launched on 40 television channels by airing Hrithik’s debut song ‘Kites in the sky’, in English, along with some behind-the-scenes footage on 29th March at 9.30 p.m.
Talking about his feelings as a debutant singer, Hrithik said, “I was nervous to make my debut as a singer, considering I come from a family that is well known in the world of music, but for this very reason my chacha [Rajesh Roshan] and director Anurag Basu were most certain that I could sing. I have given this song my best and honest shot, but I still don’t consider myself a professional singer.”
“Early in the morning, I would start with my sa re ga ma… right from the time I would wake up to brushing my teeth to taking the shower, all the time I sang with hand movements trying to reach the highest scale and the lowest note,” he added.
Talking about his experience of recording the song he said, “I had fallen in love with the art of shutting your eyes from the world and going in meditative state where you just sing. But when I went to the studio, it was a totally different story.
They put you in this little compartment and you are not allowed to move because the mike is fixed. While practicing I had been so mobile. And now I was locked up in one place where I couldn’t even move my legs because the breath shifts in different direction.
Finally, I told them to just switch off all the lights of the studio because I wasn’t being able to get my best out. So they just blacked out the entire studio. I could not even see my mike because it was so dark. This blackout worked and helped me to come out of the inhibitions in the mind. That’s how I finally worked.”

Shahid Kapoor has maintained his ‘single and ready to mingle’ status post his breakup with Kareena Kapoor who, on the other hand, instantly fell into Saif Ali Khan’s arms. Meanwhile, Shahid had been linked up with his ‘Kaminey’ co-star Priyanka Chopra and rumors of the two seeing each other kept the gossip columns going red for a long time.
The ‘Kaminey’ jodi of Shahid and Priyanka had almost been finalized as the anchor for ‘Zara Nach Ke Dikha’, a forthcoming dance reality show on television, but unfortunately it did not work out because Priyanka went on to host the third season of ‘Fear Factor’ and Shahid was out of dates as he would be shooting abroad for his father’s film during those dates.

That Kajol has a doting daughter, Nyasa, is no news at all. That Kajol is pregnant for the second time is a stale one. What is the big one is the fact that the very talented actress did not shy away from some heavy dancing recently despite being pregnant.
Though it is generally not done for an expecting mother to go for intense body movements, such is Kajol’s dedication towards her commitments that she forgot to consider this point and danced with movements involving heavy gyrations.
Though this is commendable as a dedicated actress, our advise would be to be more careful next time because there are certain things, besides career, which need priority.
The Ranbir-Katrina Jodi sizzled on the screen with their red hot chemistry in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’. Now, the Jodi will be seen yet again in Anurag Basu’s ‘Khamoshi’ where Ranbir would be playing a deaf-and-mute role and Katrina would be seen portraying a very influential and powerful character. Ranbir’s character supposedly bears a close resemblance to the blind character played by Naseeruddin Shah opposite Shabana Azmi in Sai Paranjpye’s ‘Sparsh’.
There is another buzz doing rounds that since Ranbir and Katrina mutually decided to do only one more film together, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali had to let go off Katrina for his film starring Ranbir and in return of the favour, Anurag has committed to Imtiaz the first right to Ranbir’s dates.
Anurag is all praises for Katrina and says, “Katrina is a very sensitive actress. So far we haven’t really seen her dramatic worth. This happens with very beautiful actresses.”
Talking about Ranbir-Katrina’s onscreen chemistry, Anurag said, “They are magical together. But my film will create a different magic.”
‘Hisss’ will not only see our Desi bombshell Mallika Sjerawat going international but will also mark the debut of very talented Divya Dutta in Hollywood. While Mallika Sherawat plays the female lead as the snakewoman, Divya will be seen as Irrfan Khan’s love interest.
“It is one of the challenging roles I have received. I am really looking forward to it. I play Irrfan’s love interest, who is passionate as well as sensitive. The role is not cliched and has subtle things to portray. It is one of my best roles,” said Divya.
Her Hollywood set out does not end here as Divya has two more Hollywood projects in hand. One of them is Emmy winning director Fred Holmes’ “Heart Land” also starring Amelia Jackson Gray, Reg Grant and Stephan Mario Singh.
“‘Heart Land’ is a light hearted film in which I am playing a Punjabi girl. It deals with a sensitive relationship my character shares with a much older man from the US,” Divya reveals about her role in the film.
“People from the West are extremely passionate and disciplined about work. Everyone, from the junior level to the director, is so involved that we have no choice but to give our best,” she added.
The highest tax payers for the financial year 2009-2010 are none other than King Khan and Kareena Kapoor who have made the maximum tax payments this year beating the rest. Last year SRK was beaten by Akshay Kumar with a narrow margin. Akshay made a payment of Rs 31 crore, while SRK was at Rs 30.99 crore. However, last year Kareena was far behind with a payment of Rs 3.7 crore.
However, both the actors choose to stay mum on the amount deposited by them but reliable sources have confirmed that they have deposited a hefty amount and beaten the rest.
