It was the telly show ‘Big Brother’ which gave a U-turn to Shilpa Shetty’s sinking career. She not only won the show but also went on to anchor the desi version of the show ‘Big Boss Season 2’ with huge success. Thenshe went on to marriage and many other business ventures. Once again, the pretty lady is back to make her presence felt on the smaller scree, this time as a reality dance reality show judge, ‘Zara Nach Ke Dikha’. Another feature of this show is that it will have the item girl Rakhi Sawant and ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi contest each other.

The Nepali girl, Manisha Koirala, had rocked the film industry once with blockbusters like ‘Bombay’, ‘Dil Se’, ‘1942- A love Story’, ‘Khamoshi’, ‘Mann’ and many more. Now, she is shooting for a Telugu film and is also set to tie knots with a Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal on June 19.

The would-be bridegroom is reportedly educated in the US and is a businessman trading in leather. The wedding will be a three-day extravaganza in Kathmandu with the whos-who of Bollywood attending the functions.

Manisha Koiral has a political background and the 40-year old actress may join politics. Her aunt Sujata Koirala is the deputy prime minister of Nepal while two of her uncles are MPs. Her father Prakash Koirala was a minister in King Gyanendra’s cabinet. Manisha acted in just one film in Nepal, “Pheri Bhetaula” (We will meet again), that was, however, never released.

Eros International and Sajid Nadiadwala are coming up with ‘Housefull’ this summer which is supposed to be re- weaving the magic of hit film ‘Laawaris’ with a remix of the hit “Apni Toh Jaise Taise” featuring none other than hot Jacqueline Fernandez with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh.

The makers of the song are quite hopeful for the song to top the charts with the great combo of Jacqueline’s sex appeal and Akki and Riteish’s unmatched comic presence.

The song has been composed by musical duo Shankar Ehsaan Loy and choreographed by ace Farah Khan.

Now, this is one controversy which Priyanka Chopra definitely did not want to get involved in. She recently posted in her twitter account that she was back into ‘civilization’ from Kashmir and that did not go down very well with some people.

To clarify the matter, Priyanka later wrote, “I did tweet to say I was going back to civilization. That was more a state of mind expressing my happiness at being back in familiar surroundings. It didn’t mean I didn’t enjoy Kashmir.

Kashmir is to me a dreamscape. I want to go back there as soon as possible. I tweeted saying it’s completely safe. Forget Switzerland. When we have Kashmir we don’t need to go anywhere else.”

There is yet another controversy which has been following the pretty lady. Rumors have it that she has been tweeting on Blackberry and not on Nokia the cell phone company she endorses.

She clarifies, “I have not been tweeting on Blackberry. I’ve been tweeting on my Nokia from my laptop. I don’t own a Blackberry. I’ve always been a Nokia fiend. I’ve owned only Nokia phones from the time I started using the cell phone.”

Bollywood’s chirpy and bubbly actress Juhi Chawla is facing problems on the personal front. Her elder brother, Bobby Chawla, 47, who is currently heading SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment as the CEO has suffered a massive stroke and is currently in the ICU unit of the hospital in a critical state.

Bobby reportedly suffered a massive stroke while he was out for dinner and was immediately rushed to the hospital after the stroke. Friends and supporters rushed to lend their support as soon as the news spread. Even SRK, who was in Kolkata for his IPL assignments, returned to check out the condition of Chawla.

Since neither her acting nor her dancing is helping her boost her career, the drama queen Rakhi Sawant to back to her reality drama once again. This time she will fight with her ex-boyfriend Abhishek Avasthi for victory in the forthcoming celebrity dance reality show ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’, to be aired on STAR Plus soon.

‘I am a performer. Whoever comes and performs, be it Abhishek (Avasthi), Shah Rukh or Aamir Khan, I am going to fight equally. I don’t care for anyone. I am not scared of any one. The girls team will win for sure,’ Rakhi gave her statement.

Other female contestants include Aditi Gupta, Hazel Crowney, Kritika Kamra, Mukti Mohan, Rashmi Desai, Sangeeta Ghosh, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Saparsh Kanchandani among others. The male team comprises Aamir Ali, Avishek Avasthi, Angad Hasija, Karan Kundra, Karan Singh Grover, Aksshat Seluja, Siddhesh Pai, Sushant Rajput and Ayush Khedekar among others.

Both of them are best in their respective fields. Both of them have contributed a lot to the film industry. Now, both of them are finally coming together for the forthcoming “Ferrari Ki Sawaari”.

Talking about filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and actor Shahrukh Khan, the former had  offered the actor roles in many of his previous films like `Kareeb`, `1942-A Love Story`, `Munnabhai MBBS` and even `3 Idiots`, but it did not work out owing to the differences between the two.

However, the differences seem to be fading away now and the two are very friendly with each other. This can be understood with the fact that the superstar has finally given a nod to Vidhu’s “Ferrari Ki Sawaari.” The film revolves around the story of how an Indian cricket legend’s Ferrari makes a young boy’s dream of playing cricket at Lord’s come true.

Sonam Kapoor has not yet delivered any hit on the silver screen, but the actress is very hopeful about the coming year as she has a horde of projects in her hand. Two of her films are awaiting release and the shooting for three of the movies are on. 2010 awaits the release of Sonam’s “Aisha” and “I Hate Luv Storys”.

Slated to release in August, “Aisha” is based on Jane Austen’s novel ‘Emma’ and the movie features Abhay Deol, Arunudoy Singh and Cyrus Sahukar besides Sonam.

Releasing this July is Karan Johars’ romantic project, “I Hate Luv Storys” which has Imran Khan and Samir Dattani along with Sonam. This is Punit Malhotra’s debutant directorial venture.

“Guys, I’ve finished filming ‘Aisha’ and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ and they will be my two releases this year. I’m working on three films this year. I’m doing ‘Thank You’, ‘Mausam’ and the third one I can’t talk about,” Sonam posted on her Twitter page Saturday.

Besides, Sonam is working on Anees Bazmee’s romantic comedy “Thank You” opposite Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Kapoor’s “Mausam” with his son Shahid and one more project.

Jiah Khan is once again all set to make her presence felt with her sensuous performance in forthcoming ‘Housefull’ and the team members of the film are having a ball while shooting for the film.

However, this funny incident took place at the expense of poor Jiah Khan as the cast and crew played a prank on her. Jiah and Randhir Kapoor, who plays her father in ‘Housefull’, were shooting a sequemce for the film in which Jiah had to apologize to Randhirji holding her ears and asking for forgiveness.

But the team mates made Jiah think that she had to hold Randhirji’s ears and did the same! The entire set including Randhir himself burst out laughing at her goof-up and Jiah was nervous. Nevertheless, she took everything in her true spirit.

Sri Lankan Jacqueline Fernandez a.k.a Jackie made her Bollywood debut with ‘Aladdin’ opposite Riteish Deshmukh. Once, again she has paired with Riteish to play the role of an alien in ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’.

Jacqueline is not quite comfortable with Hindi. She was told that her voice would be dubbed by a professional once the film reaches the editing stage.

“Exactly, that was the plan”, recollects Jackie, “I had shot all of my scenes while being very comfortable all this while that there would anyways be dubbing happening at a later stage. I just concentrated on getting my act right without really worrying much about pronunciation, spacing etc. because that was far from being perfect.”

However, since her character in the film is that of an alien, director Milap felt that her uncomfortable Hindi would just go right with her character and so he suggested Jackie to dub for her dialogues.

“Being shocked would be an understatement”, laughs Jackie in mock horror, “I pleaded Milap to get someone else on board in the dubbing studio. This is just my second film and I felt that I would ruin it all if audience hears me speaking Hindi in my own sweet accent.

Talking about her dubbing experience, Jackie says, “I wanted to kill myself. Period”, adds Jackie in an animated tone, “I felt that this was the end of it. I wanted to go back to the shoot and re-do everything that I had done as far as mouthing dialogues was concerned.

Come on, I have no qualms in admitting that Hindi is not something that comes naturally to me. But then what can one say when your director feels that it is this ‘not so natural’ trait that he wanted in his ‘alien’ character.”

Katrina Kaif is busy promoting her forthcoming political drama ‘Rajneeti’ these days, which is slated for release in June. At a press release on Saturday evening, Katrina was there with Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Nana Patekar. Attired in a short, sleeveless, pink dress, Katrina found the cold blast from the air conditioner too chilly.

“It`s way too cold here. It`s so cold!” whispered Katrina to Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal on the stage. At this Ranbir nodded his head, but Arjun Rampal went a step ahead by taking off his coat and offering it to the lady. She immediately grabbed it and placed it on her legs, which were hidden behind a table on the stage. Later Nana Patekar too requested the hotel authorities to get the temperature in control.

After Big B, Shahrukh Khan too tried his hand at hosting this popular game show. Now, it is the perfectionist Khan of Bollywood, Aamir Khan, who has been approached to host ‘KBC 4’.

However, the deal is yet to be finalized over the price offered and only then, Aamir will give his affirmative nod. It may be mentioned here that Aamir Khan has been offered a lot more than Shah Rukh (Rs 75 lakh per episode).

Siddhartha Basu, the ‘KBC’ producer, clarified the issue saying, “It’s too early to talk about the next season of ‘KBC.’ Sony Pictures, who now owns the game show, might have had initial discussions with Aamir. But the details for the next season will take a long time to formulate.”

On the other hand, Aamir Khan refused to comment on the issue.
