Bollywood stars at IIFA green carpet
Despite controversies and boycotts, the 11th edition of the IIFA Weekend kick started in Sri Lanka with the host country rolling out the red carpet for glamorous Bollywood actors. The ceremony has been boycotted by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce as a mark of protest against the alleged mistreatment of the Tamils in the country. Bollywood biggies like the Bachchans and SRK are also giving the extravaganza a miss. While Big B is currently shooting in Gujarat, Abhishek is in Istanbul for a film shoot and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai is in Paris to promote a brand. SRK is busy with the post production details of his forthcoming ‘Ra 1’.
Stars such a Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha, Lara, Neha, Kangana, Dia, Jacqueline, Riya, Sophie and many more were given a warm welcome by the Lankan fans as they arrived at the Bandarnaike International Airport.

Finally it was great to see that bollywood celebs in such a large number were dressed so beautifully at an event.
In the past I have seen popular stars wearing hedious outfits copying the west.
For instance take Kareena who looked stunning in that striking Sari designed by Manish [ which proves the power of both Indian Sari and Indian Designers ].
Who can believe it was the same Bebo who looked pathetic in one dirty blue gown in past years award function.
Moreover Bebo had to look beautiful this day at IIFA because the fact remains fact, that Vidya Balan deserved it more than her, so in order to divert the attention of audience from Vidya, she chose the best designer of India.
There were many other celebs who looked good though they were dressed in western.
Lara Dutta’s “Mumtaz gown” was amazing [except for her ugly hairstyle].
Then Diya Mirza & Sophie looked great in their black gowns.
It was “Saree power” again when Bipasha walked draped in lovely designed saree by “Anamika”,[ But her bikini-blouse on a designer saree was a let down].
There was a black sheep too in this herd of beautifully dressed celebs , in the form of a non-actress celeb called “Suzane Roshan”. I wonder what made her choose that shimmering - glimmering 80s type hedious gown.
