Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan jodi has churned out some of the biggest and successful comedies over the years like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyya and De Dana Dan to name a few. They are not set once again to give you a hilarious ride with ‘Khatta Meetha’ which is a remake of the 1989 Priyadarshan directed hit Malayalam film, Vellanakalude Nadu starring Mohan Lal.

Kangna Ranaut takes inspiration from Jeenat Aman’s looks

Kangana Ranaut is keeping her fingers crossed for the role of Rehana she plays in ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’. The movie has the look and feel of the 70s era and Kangna did an extensive research on Zeenat Aman before portraying the role.

Speaking about the era of the seventies, the actress says, “What I noticed while playing my character in the film was the fact that the heroine of the seventies took half an hour to get dressed and more than two hours to style her hair.”

Says director Milan Luthria, “Kangana lends herself because she has a great body which does not look vulgar and her face is chameleon-like – she can change into different looks everyday. There is a lot of her in the character Rehana.”

The character Rehana in the movie is a leading star but later she falls in love with a gangster and transforms from a star to a woman. Set in mid 1970s, Once upon a Time in Mumbai is a slick and entertaining re-living of the iconic Mumbai underworld for all those who marveled at the men that stood above all else and for those whose burning desire to succeed stands above all else. The complete cast includes Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut, Prachi Desai and Randeep Hooda. The movie is being directed by Milan Luthria under producers Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor of Balaji telefilms.

Rhea Kapoor stands out at the music release of ‘Aisha’

Despite not having a single hit in her kitty, actress Sonam Kapoor has made her presence felt in Bollywood with her elegance and style but this time it was her sister Rhea who impressed us with her subtle chic sense of style and poise with her first formal public appearances on Sunday, at the music release of the forthcoming movie ‘Aisha’. She chose the midway between a dire professional look and a young breezy style with a a pair of slim-fitted black pants from Alexander Wang, a white top from Zara and an asymmetrically-cut semi-formal jacket with white piping from Elizabeth & James. She completed her look with smart booties from Alexander Wang and earrings borrowed from her mother for the evening.

Made under dad Anil Kapoor’s banner, the movie has the honor of being Rhea’s first production venture. Rhea began her career as an assistant director with Ayan Mukherjee in Wake up Sid.

Bollywood stylist Rajat Tangri comments on the two sisters’ style funda saying, “While Sonam’s style is more out there and fun, Rhea sticks to understated and functional fashion. Their dressing styles clearly reflect the professions they have chosen. Sonam wears a lot of girlie dresses, pinks and frills just like a la-di-dah movie star. But Rhea is seen in pants and interesting jackets, quite like a young producer who attended school in New York. Even when Rhea has done the girlie dressing routine, on red carpet-outings with her family, she has stuck to the classic little black dress.”

Tangri adds, “What made Rhea’s style stand out at the event was that she chose the smart style of an uptown professional, true to her part as a producer. On the other hand, the cast of the movie – all girls her age, including Sonam, Lisa Haydon, Ira Dubey and Amrita Puri – wore feminine silk dresses and sequinned minis.”

Rhea had recently revealed her love for tailored trousers on Twitter, when she asked Sonam to get her some from Scotland. Sonam has been shooting in Scotland for Mausam with Shahid Kapur.

Raima Sen not only has a great deal of fascination for her grandmother Suchitra Sen, she also resembles her a lot. Now, the actress has all the reasons to smile as she has finally got the long cherished opportunity of enacting the role of her own grandmother, penned down by none other than Rituporno Ghosh. Ghosh has always been drawn to the mysterious aura of this legendry actress who quit her career at the peak of her popularity and so he has moved in for a movie which will deal with her life indirectly and will borrow several true incidents from her real life.

An overjoyed Raima states, “I’ve always been told that I resemble my grandmother a lot. Since the past few days she was hospitalised due to respiratory problems. But she’s recovered now and will touchwood, have a long life.”

She adds, “Which Bengali filmmaker is not fascinated with the aura of Suchitra Sen? Nobody, apart from her immediate family has seen her since her last film ‘Pranoy Pasha‘ in 1978.”

As for us, we would definitely like to see Raima re-create the magic of magical Suchitra Sen, given the fact that she is all talented to do so!!!
