The much awaited and talked about Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva wedding took place yesterday and was attended by over 2,000 guests, drawn from the art and theatre circles as well as those from the film industry and other associated fields. However, the fact noticeable was that local politicians seemed to be the dominant guests in number than the actors fraternity.
The noticeable politicians included Karnataka Legislative opposition leader Siddaramaiah, BJP President Venkaiah Naidu, RV Deshpande, DB Chandregouda, Katta Subramanya Naidu, Narendra Babu, Roshan Beig and Mayor S Nataraj. Among the stars from tinsel town were a few names like Ambareesh, Sudeep and Ramya, Sushmita Sen and Sangeeta Bijlani. As expected ex-girlfirend Aishwarya and her family did not attend the wedding.
The function started amidst a tight security of around 60 police officers and 100 security personnel. However, media reporters were a bit disappointed as they were not allowed to enter the marriage hall.

Vivek Oberoi, Bollywood’s one of the most eligible bachelors, is all set to marry the Bangalore-based girl Priyanka Alva, daughter of Nandini Alva, and an exponent of art. The wedding ceremony is set to be held today at the Alva’s Residency, a farm house near Lumbini Garden in Bangalore.
Since Priyanka is from Bunts Bramhin family and Vivek Oberoi is a Punjabi, rituals will be performed from both the sides. Priyanka also observed Karva Chawtha on Tuesday. Priyanka will wear orange-coloured South Indian silk saree while Vivek will put on Maroon-coloured Kurta for the wedding.

Bollywood stars displayed the vibrant colors of traditional Bengali looks as they appeared for the music launch of ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’ in Mumbai. While Deepika Padukone looked innocently beautiful in her period dress code exuding the essence of her character in the film, Abhishek Bachchan too looked impressive in a traditional dhoti. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan chose to drape the silk saree in the traditional Bengali style flaunting their mehndi worn for the Karva Chauth. Big B unveiled the album which is ambient and strongly evocative of patriotic feelings.
Composer Sohail Sen has done an impressive job as vocalist as well. Sohail keeps the rustic feel intact without going overboard on the instrument usage. Check out the clicks from the event….

Bollywood beauties celebrated Karva Chauth in all glamour and style. The preparations had started well in advance as they prepared for the big day to fast for their husband’s long life and good health. They were seen hitting various spa locations and jewellery stores with full fervor.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan celebrated Karva Chauth at the Bachchan house which shone with the festive dazzles. Following the tradition of the day, she was spotted doting on husband Abhishek Bachchan through the sieve as the elder Bachchans looked on.
Where the Bachchans chose to keep the celebrations a private affair, the other celebrity couple, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, was spotted at David Dhawan’s party. Shilpa looked ravishing and beaming in a blue and red saree. Also spotted at the same event were Raveena Tandon and husband Anil Thadani, Chunkey Pandey and Bhavna Pandey, Sanjay Suri and Anu Dewan with husband Sunny Dewan.

Deepika Padukone was spotted with Siddhartha Mallya at the Kingfisher Calendar 2011 model hunt. Ace lensman Atul Kasbekar, who will shoot the entire calendar this year too, was also present at the occasion along with former model, Milind Soman. Kingfisher Airlines and the Kingfisher range of beers are both owned by the United Breweries group.
At the event, Deepika Padukone said that models have to be not only good looking, but also intelligent.
“I think apart from just a great body and a great face, it’s also very important for the girls to be smart, witty and intelligent. It’s not the way you look but the entire package that matters. I think that being smart and intelligent takes one forward in life if you really want to become successful. So, I am looking for someone who is not just good looking but also very, very intelligent,” said Padukone. She added that she had also been a part of the calendar, and empathised with the aspiring calendar girls

Time and again, Bollywood stars have faced uncomfortable situations and have raised objections when some persistent fans have tried to click their shots despite their protests. This time this unpleasant situation was faced by Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, the lead cast of ‘Band Baja Baraaat’ when they were in Kingfisher Mumbai-Delhi flight.
Two co-passengers, an IPS officer and another a former Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, clicked some photographs of Anushka in spite of her objections and this led to a heated argument ending up in a scuffle when they reached to terminal. After landing in Delhi, the two passengers were given separate vehicles when they requested the same to the Kingfisher staff to go to the terminal. Ranveer barged into the vehicle and entered into a fight at the airside and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials had to intervene.
When the issue could not be settled, both the parties were brought to Palam Police station. “Anushka didn’t come to the police station and a representative from Kingfisher airline along with Ranveer came to Palam Police station. The other two were also ready to file a counter complaint. Later, both the parties resolved the matter,” said a police officer.

Shweta Tiwari and Dolly Bindra are known not to be in good terms with each other when the latter had an ugly fight with Shweta’s ex-husband Raja Chaudhary at a party where Raja allegedly hit her. So, it was not a welcome fact for Shweta when Bindra entered the ‘Big Boss’ house recently.
To add to her woes, Dolly encroached on her territory of the kitchen and has been trying to run things her way there. Dolly is known for her culinary skills and since she has impressed the housemates with this skill of hers, she seems to be a strong rival for Shweta as the captain of the house. Shweta has expressed her desire to quit from the kitchen team. Things heated up when both got into argument on whether or not men should be involved in kitchen work. The fight took an ugly turn with both hurling accusations on each other.
The viewers are awaiting much more masala as the housemates decide to boycott Dolly for use of insulting language and Dolly bent on getting her old dues cleared with Tiwari.

Bollywood may be touted as a world of selfishness and ingratitude but have been instances time and again to reveal that the industry does have its share of emotions and friendly bonds. This times, this gesture comes from ace actor Hrithik Roshan who shows his compassion for his spot boy Nandan Mahato. Nandan started his career in the tinsel town as the spot boy for chirpie Juhi Chawla and then joined Hrithik with ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’ when Juhi married and settled down. He has been with Hrithik for as long as ten years.
Nandan has already done a few Bhojpuri films and has now stepped into Bollywood with this debut ‘Main Krishna Hoon’ which happens to be a 3-D animation-cum-live action film. Hrithik not only encouraged him but also flew down to Hyderabad to shoot a cameo for the film and that too without any payment. Juhi, too, has done a cameo for his former employee. Reports have it that Katrina too will do a small appearance for the film as her gesture of support and appreciation for her hairdresser Pomilla, who is the co-producer of the film.
Hope this shuts down the critics who paint the tinsel town in all grey and emotionless shades….
