Now, we have something for all those who thought that a few flops have really hit Khiladi Kumar hard and that he has some ‘faltu’ time now. When producer Vashu Bhagnani offered Akshay Kumar a whopping Rs. 15 crore for 10 days’ work to star in his next project, ‘Faltu’ is aimed at the relaunch of his son Jackky, he was all in for disappointment to realize that Akshay does not have dates free.
Akshay has a lot of films at a go at the moment, right from Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ to his television show, Master Chef India. Interestingly, it was Sanjay Dutt who was to do his role earlier. But the actor opted out due to a tight schedule.
Faltu, directed by choreographer Remo, is meant to relaunch Vashu’s son Jackky who fell down with a thud after his Kal Kissne Dekha bombed at the box office last year. The movie also marks the debut of ex Miss India Pooja Chopra as the heroine.

There is no doubt about the fact that with the failure of Rani Mukherjee’s ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, her career in Bollywood shows no more hope now. So, the actress now seems to have taken a turn to Bengali cinema. And if things go in a stride, ‘Africa’ by two-time National Award winning director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury may be Rani Mukherjee’s debut in Bengali cinema. Rani has done only one Bengali film as yet, ‘Biyer Phool’ with a cameo. Rani will play the lead in this heroine-oriented flick.
Chowdhury confirmed, “Yes, I did meet Rani. We’ve had discussions but nothing has been finalised. I am still working on the script. It’s too premature to talk about it. She is one of my favourite actresses! I would like to work with her.”
Aniruddha added, “I plan on starting my Bengali film first and then the Hindi one next year. I am working on three scripts, two by noted Bengali novelist Sunil Gangopadhyaya. Sunil’s works include Dui Nari Haate Torowari and Ajaana Desh while Africa is my story. I will be visiting Mumbai in the next few days to finalise preparations for my Hindi film.”
Kareena Kapoor stole her fans’ hearts with her scooter in the Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ and now the babe has been signed as the brand ambassador for Mahindra’s new two wheeler- ‘PowerScooter’. Talking about this, Bebo said that, “My experience with Mahindra scooter dates back to two years ago, when I rode a Mahindra ‘PowerScooter’ in 3 Idiots. I am delighted to be working with them.”
The commercial will be directed by Pradeep Sarkar and the styling will be done by Bebo’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra. The ad will be shot on a busy street in Mumbai. The first campaign will be for the Mahindra Rodeo, a scooter aimed at girls, about which she said “Rodeo is a youthful, fun and fresh brand. It has the right mix of style and power.”
Aamir Khan will be doing the ad for the same brand for men. “It’s the same brand I rode in 3 Idiots, and it is aimed at girls. The concept is light, young and fresh for college- goers. Aamir will shoot for the scooters for men. I love scooterettes and bikes. I used to ride them in Goa during my Golmaal 3 shoot, but I can’t do that here in Mumbai,” Bebo added further.
Talking about Kareena and her biking in ‘Golmaal 3’, director Rohit Shetty says, “Kareena plays a tomboy in G3. She rides a bike in the film and had to be trained for that. We had to give her a lot of free space as she loves to ride fast. The funny thing was I had to ride on the bike with her to take shots as I was holding the camera. It was risky but fun!”
It has been almost an year that we have been waiting for filmmaker Krishna Shah’s idea of the film on India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to take a shape but without any progress because of the dearth of a female lead for the same.
Shah has put in a lot of effort into the project with detailed research of Gandhi;s life through interviews with journalists, politicians, bureaucrats, military men, writers and the contemporaries of Indira Gandhi and also books related to her life.
The movie was originally announced by Shah on Indira Gandhi’s 92nd birth anniversary on November 19, 2009 and then much talented Madhuri Dixit was supposed to play the role. Then came a long list of female stars whose names were considered for the role but nothing seemed to materialize. The list included the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
The latest to join the row is Vidya Balan but even this could not be worked out because Balan is busy with her dates. She is playing the strong role of a pregnant widow seeking revenge in Sujoy Ghish’s latest venture based on Hollywood film Kill Bill.
If Vidya Balan gives a nod to the role, it will definitely be a visual treat to see a very strong actress portraying such a strong role…..
A lot is being said about Kareena Kapoor charging an exorbitant Rs 5 crore for Karan Johar’s ‘Short Term Shaadi’ and that she would sport a shorts and tee look to let the heat soar in the movie. However, diplomatic as Bebo is, she has an answer for all the pseculations and denies charging such a huge amount for the film.
She said, “Karan is family, we don’t discuss money or even scripts. He tells me when to start shooting and pays me what I deserve. I certainly hope he gives me this much.”
She also denies the rumors of short clothes for the film and says, “Shorts have been done to death in the movies. And my fans didn’t like the ‘Tashan’ look. So I’ll be wearing lots of clothes with a ‘Jab We Met’ kind of a vibe.”
Talking about ‘Short Term Shaadi’, Kareena said, “It’s a riot. If it’s made the way it is written, you will be rolling in the aisles too. Both Imran and I have performance driven roles.”
Meanwhile, Bebo has her eyes set on the success of soon-to-be-released ‘Golmaal 3’.
Uptil now, rumors had been rife that Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif do not share good vibes and they are not keen on working together. Gossip columns also quoted that Aishwarya prevented her husband from working with Kaif. However, all the mouths have been shut after the Bachchan Bahu recommended Katrina’s name when the makers of ‘The Italian Job’ approached her for the lead role opposite junior Bachchan. The movie to be made by Vipul Shah is a remake of the Hollywood film by the same name starring Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron.
Before this also, Aishwarya had recommended Priyanka Chopra’s name when the makers of ‘Dostana 2’ approached her for the role opposite Abhishek. Being absolute professionals, all of these stars do not have any issues working with each other.
Katrina, too, confirmed the fact that that she has no issues working with Abhishek either. “All these ridiculous rumours about me not working with Abhishek started when my dates for The Italian Job didn’t work out, and Dostana 2 got postponed.
Abhishek is a great guy. I did Sarkar with him at the start of my career. There were other offers but I felt they were not good enough to do justice to our pairing. I decided that whenever we work together again, it would be for a full-blown romantic comedy,” she clarified.
Seems like the reel-life plot from Kareena Kapoor’s recent flick ‘We Are Family’ is being played in her real life too. The romantic and perfect love saga of Saifeena faced a setback when the two had a tiff over the issue of Chhote Nawab’s kids. It all happened when Saif’s kids, Sara and Ibrahim, came to spend time with their father and Saif asked his lady love to play their mom.
It may be mentioned here that on earlier occasions, when kids came over, Kareena chose to stay away giving space to Saif to bond with his kids. But this time she hanged around. But where Saif pampered and bonded with his kids, Kareena could not do so. This upset Saif and the couple went into communication gap for six days. Latest reports have it that Madhuri will make an appearance on the fifth season of the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’. Where many say that she will be seen as a judge, there are also quite a few who believe that she will make a guest appearance only with a special dance sequence.
A person close to the producers of the show said, “Our show is very popular. Madhuri is a treat to watch when she dances. Her presence will be an asset and she is quite open to the idea of coming to India and doing this show. She is seriously considering the offer. The modalities are being worked out,” says the source.
Rakeshnath , Madhuri’s secretary, confirmed the offer, but said that the decision is yet to be finalized by Madhuri. “It’s all at a very nascent stage. There is nothing official as yet. Madhuri gets lots of offers every now and then,” said Rikku.
Mallika Sherawat’s ‘Hisss’ is creating news with utter fervors, given the publicity stunst by the actress and also due to the uniqueness associated with the script. The latest buzz created by the flick is that Lakshmi Bai, the erstwhile princess of Travancore, will make an appearance in the movie as Divya Dutta’s mother.
“Akka is a natural storyteller. Her intelligence and grace are matched only by her incredible instinct about people and their character. It was an honour to be her director,” Lynch said in a statement about Lakshmi Bai, popularly called ‘Akka’.
“Akka will provide a healthy amount of comic relief in the film, and her character’s storyline is crucial to the plot,” she added.
Reports also have it that Mallika has used Burkha in a number of action-chase scenes in the film and that the idea was thought up by director Jennifer Lynch and integrated in to her script as an “inside joke”. The joke traces down to the fact that Mallika uses burkha oft and on to get away with the crowded areas.
The much awaited flick opens worldwide October 22nd after a lengthy and FX-heavy post-production in Hollywood.

PE Electronics Ltd, a new business unit that brings together Philips (range of television products) and Electrolux (range of home appliances) as a single entity under a unique brand licensee agreement is responsible for selling and promoting Electrolux.
Though the official confirmation is awaited, we are pretty much sure that this style diva of Bollywood will be promoting the brand.
Director Rohit Shetty has made it sure that Ajay Devgan’s entry in ‘Golmaal 3’ is no less than his impressive and grand entry in the earlier sequels “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited” and “Golmaal Returns”. In “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited”, released in 2006, Ajay made his entry on a sports bike and in the 2008 “Golmaal Returns” he balanced himself on two Hummer cars. In the latest one, Ajay will be seen making an entry balancing himself on two vintage cars driven on two wheels each. The cars will be bright pink and yellow in colour.
Ajay has also sported a brand new rugged look for the film with diamond ear studs, tattoos and cropped hair. Kareena Kapoor sports a tomboy look, Tusshar Kapoor has a tapori look and Arshad Warsi too has experimented with his looks.
“I wanted all the characters to have different looks in G3. For Ajay (who plays Gopal again), I wanted a character that looked different from everything he has done. He has been working hard on his body a lot, so we will have him flaunting his body. He plays a hyper character who loses his temper very quickly, because of which everyone is scared of him. People never know what he will laugh about or get angry about.” Shetty said.
Ajay Devgan’s tattoos have been designed by Aalim’s studio. “Vishwas from my salon designed the tattoo on Ajay’s neck but the concept and choice was Ajay’s. The tattoo is of a Celtic or tribal trishul. No actor in India has got a tattoo made on the neck.” Aalim said.
“We have given Ajay the buzz cut, a more macho, masculine and grungy look than he normally sports. We were waiting for all his film shoots to get over before we could give him this look as otherwise it would have continuity problems. He took a keen interest in the whole look and styling.” Aalim added.
