Deepika Padukone may be busy with the promotion of her forthcoming ‘Break Ke Baad’ these days but she is all excited about her upcoming next “Desi Boyz” with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham as lead actor. The film marks the directorial debut of Rohit Dhawan, elder son of comedy King David Dhawan and is a romantic comedy with Anupam Kher and Chitrangada Singh in supporting roles.

It was a memorable day at Mehboob studios when all the cast of the film had gathered along with Rohit Dhawan. Salman Khan, who has been sharing cold vibes with John Abraham for over 4 years following a misunderstanding at a stage show, came to the sets to meet Akshay, Sanjay, Deepika and director Rohit Dhawan. There he saw John and what came as a pleasant surprise was that they stepped forward and hugged. They were also spotted having lunch together.

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “What a prestigious day at Mehboob studios today! All the Macho Men of Bollywood gathered 4 lunch, Salman, Sanjay Saab, John & me…it was muscles galore on the set ”

Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta, both entered Bollywood simultaneously after competing each other at the Miss India pageant. However, Priyanka has moved quite afar of Lara now. The two actresses will be seen together in ‘Don 2- The chase continues’ after a long time and Lara is quite happy to be a part of this ambitious project.

Lara posted on her Twitter account, “Yes, am extremely delighted to b a part of DON 2 with the fabulous SRK and Priyanka and Farhan! Can’t wait for the project to start! ”

The Bollywood history can never forget the amazing chemistry between Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’ and it came as a welcome news for all the cinegoers when the director announced the sequel to this blockbuster comedy.

Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir were toying with idea of sequel for long, but they had not reached a final decision uptil now. Now, they have formed a complete picture in their mind about the storyline of the sequel and have decided to proceed further. Though Aamir personally does not prefer the idea of sequels a lot, he has decided to go for a change with this one. The idea has been initiated to Aamir by Salman himself.

Rajkumar Santoshi said, “It`s amazing how much interest there is in ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ after so many years. My movie ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ was a tribute to the spirit of that movie. Aamir, Salman and I are really looking forward to coming together again.”

Preity Zinta may be away from flashlights for quite sometime now, giving more time and attention to her business moves than her acting career but the lady surely is as active and happening as ever. She will be the only celebrity to meet and greet the former First Lady of Britain, Cherie Blair, who will be visiting India in the month of December.

The two developed great rapport when they met at the annual Diwali charity auction in Britain hosted by The Loomba Trust that has been generously supported by former Prime Minister Tony Blair’s wife. Preity and Cherie talked on several issues like healthcare, infant mortality rate, female foeticide and the need for nutrition for most pregnant women in India.

Cherie’s visit to India will deal with issues regarding the upliftment of the conditions of the underprivileged and needy here. Preity also plans to throw a dinner for Blair but is in no mood to reveal her plans now. She said, “I cannot say what I’m planning to do for Cherie as it is really in the planning stages.”

Madhur Bhandarkar has made a shift from realistic and serious cinema to fun and light comedy with ‘Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji’ and gave a peek at the first look of his flick at Twitter. Set to release on 28th January 2011, the film stars Ajay Devgn as Naren, Emraan Hashmi as Abhay, Omi Vaidya as Nikhil, Shazahn Padamsee as June, Shruti Haasan as Jia, Tisca Chopra as Pamela and Shraddha Das as Gungun Sarkar. The musical notes for the flick has been directed by Pritam Chakraborty, cinematography has been done by Ravi Walia and choreography for the film has been done by Sandip Soparrkar and Seema Desai. Media is abuzz these days with the news that Sara Ali and Ali Merchant are already married and they chose to go for a marriage ceremony on ‘Big Boss’ as the channel had offered them a huge sum in order to boost the popularity of the show. However, nothing could stop the couple from tying the knots and the show climbing higher on the TRP ratings.

The two have finally said ‘Kubool Hai’ to each other in the presence of Ali’s parents and Big Boss inmates. Jay Bhanushali and Krystal De Souza were among the select few invited to the House for the wedding. The wedding couple donned on the attire designed by ace designer Vikram Phadnis. It was ‘Murder’ which gave a push to Mallika Sherawat’s career making her the oomph queen of Bollywood. However, Miss Sherawat could not handle the success with her head in place and went about bragging that the film owed its success to her, thus ruining her relationship with co-star Emraan Hashmi and the Bhatt camp.

So, now when the Bhatts are planning a sequel to Murder, it will not have Mallika in the lead and she has been replaced by the Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandes. The male lead has however not been finalized yet.

The director of the sequel to Murder has changed from Anurag Basu to Mohit Suri. Miss Fernandez was not the first choice for the role. The makers of the film had approached several actresses before her including the likes of Bipasha Basu. Though Jacqueline has been in the tinselt own for quite sometime now, she has not yet tasted success. We hope this film gives the same push to her career as it had given to Mallika’s career.

From the time Madhur Bhandarkar approached Kareena Kapoor for his ambitious project ‘Heroine’, there have been speculations off and on about Kareena denying the project due to varied reasons. First it was said that Kareena wanted to delete the five lovemaking scenes in the film, which features a Bollywood actor with two kids. It was because her beau Saif Ali Khan bears close resemblance with the character. Again, it was said that quit the film because her director friend Lovely Singh’s father was not allowed to meet Bhandarkar, even after waiting for three hours at his office. Latest reports also have it that his producers want to start with the project immediately – with or without Kareena and the latter’s current work commitments make her busy for more than a year.

Whatever, be the reason, Madhur seems to be tired of chasing Kareena now and inside reports have it that Bhandarkar has had a covert meeting with Aishwarya to woo her for ‘Heroine’. However, Madhir chose to go for a diplomatic answer when questioned on this. He said, “I’m still busy with my film and have no time to meet anyone. I will start meeting people soon.”

Heroine is believed to be a modern-day version of Shyam Benegal’s 1977 film Bhumika, which starred Smita Patil. Bhumika was based on the life of renowned Marathi actress Hansa Wadkar whereas Heroine is supposed to be on a Bollywood actress and her relationships with the five men in her life.

There has long been a speculation that actors Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan share cold vibes with each other and that though Karan Johar was considering them for the lead roles in the sequel of ‘Dostaana’, he has hesitations because he felt that they would be very comfortable with each other during the shoot.

However, the actors chose a unique way to convince everyone that ‘All Izzz Well’ between them and that KJo should have no qualms in casting them for the flick. They locked lips twice on ‘Koffee With Karan’ and demanded that KJo live up to a promise he made to them during an awards show of casting them in his film. They reminded him that they got an underwear each as a signing token from Karan.

Karan was obviously shocked at this but let the humor flow by asking them to repeat their lip lock once again as they returned from a commercial break which the actors immediately obliged to.

Moreover, Ranbir had even adjusted his dates according to Imran’s convenience who is busy with his shootings at this time. The two bonded well during the show. They put the sets afire with their jokes and witty comments.
