Bong beauty Bipasha Basu is at present in Brisbane for the initial rehearsals for her first international project – English-French director Roland Joffe’s “Singularity”. With this trip the actress has finally managed to break the jinx which had been associated with her Australia trip for all these years.
Says the actress, “I had been trying to plan a holiday in Australia since many years. But due to something or the other, all plans used to get spoilt. This year, I am glad I have been able to break the jinx.”
Meanwhile, the actress has also expressed her desire to play the mythological character Draupadi. “I would love to play the character of Draupadi. In fact, I got an offer but right now it’s hanging in the air somewhere. I think it’s a very dynamic mythological character and I think I’ll do it well,” Bipasha told a news daily.
Everything had been going topsy turvy in Sara Khan and Ali Merchant’s relationship for past three years and with Sara getting apparently close to Ashmit Patel in Big Boos house, the future of their relationship seemed dicey. Things took a turn when Ali entered the Big Boss house as a guest for a week long stay. It was in the house that he proposed to Sara and she accepted. Now, the house seems to be charged with enthusiasm and energy as the contestants prepare for the grand wedding on November in the presence of their parents and all ‘Bigg Boss 4′ contestants. The wedding will also witness the presence of popular TV actors and will have all the traditional ceremonies like mehendi, sangeet and the nikah. The couple’s clothes will be designed by ace designer Vikram Phadnis. Sara’s bridal outfit will have artistic motifs with embellishments and kundan embroidery on the lehenga, while for Ali, Phadnis has planned a sherwani embellished with antique gold thread.
“It is indeed a pleasure to design outfits for their big day and a different experience too as I am putting together special outfits for them in just two to three days,” Phadnis said.
“I have also sourced the best of the jewellery in kundan, jadau and polki from Jaipur. It is exotic and expensive and would go well with Sara’s outfit. My aim is to make her look beautiful for her D-day,” he added.
For those who thought that Vidya Balan is a great actress with not so great appeal and oomph, the actress hits back with a vengeance by posing backless and oozing sensuality as she appears in an undraped saree on the covers of the November issue of FHM India Men’s Magazine. Inaugurated in November 2007, the magazine has successfully completed 3 years in print. And with this issue Vidya also happens to be the first actress to grace the cover of FHM India draped in a saree.
Vidya says, “I’m glad people are getting bored of just seeing women in bikinis we’ve become very parochial about sexiness. I think the sari is by far the sexiest garment it covers the right amount, it exposes the right amount it’s such a tease and I like teasing.”

Sunday was perhaps a dream come true for perfectionist Aamir Khan when Aamir Khan was among those invited at prime minister’s private dinner for the US first couple at 7, Race Course Road residence.
Aamir attended the dinner in a cream coloured kurta and pyjama and was elated when Obama praised his work. Other celebrity guests to attend the dinner were music maestro A.R.Rehman, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhter. Aamir was overwhelmed when he came to know that the First Lady Michelle Obama has danced to the title number of his blockbuster ‘Rang De Basanti’ in the morning.
He was bombarded with questions from the media persons as soon as he came out at around 10 p.m. “President Obama said he has heard a lot about my work and my films, ” said Aamir adding, “It (the dinner) was an opportunity to meet big personalities. I am a big fan of Manmohan-ji and I am happy that he called me up.”

The two most talked about Diwali bash this year were the Bachchan bash at Jalsa and the Shilpa-Raj Kundra Diwali bash at their newly designed and renovated Juhu bungalow done by Suzzane Roshan. The theme of the party was unique and interesting as Shilpa arranged her drawing room into a mini casino with blackjacks, roulette tables and more even designating it as Kundra Kasino. Sushmita Sen became the dealer at the blackjack table.
The party was a star-studded affair with the guest list including the likes of David Dhawan, Dino Morea with girlfriend Nandita Mahtani, Sanjay and Manyata Dutt, Ameesha Patel, Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan, Amrita Arora Ladhak and Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan. Most of the guests either came from Bachchan bash or left early to attend it after the party at Shilpa’s residence. However, the person who was seen beaming was producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s wife Wardha as she won Rs 1.5 lakh at Kundra casino.
Kareena Kapoor’s size zero avatar had been the talk of the gossip columns for quite some time in the past months but now it seems Bebo is comfortable bouncing back to her sexier curves. She was seen comfortable with her curves as she shot the Metro shoes ad with her beau Saif Ali Khan. She had absolutely no issues about her legs looking slightly plump and even told the photographer that the shapely look suits her much better than the skinny, size zero look. She wanted her pictures natural without touchups or editing.
In her own words, “I have consciously decided to get more voluptuous and I love the way I look!
I can’t be stick-thin all my life. I had lost weight for a particular role in Tashan and for Kambakhht Ishq but my new releases require me to look more voluptuous.
I play cuter, bubblier roles in my films like Ra.One, Bodyguard, Agent Vinod and a film with Imran (Khan). I am consciously making an effort to balance out my yoga and not diet or work out drastically.”
Koena Mitra had a lot of fun and masti dressing up in a costume with her girlfriends for her first Halloween celebration in Chicago. Koena had come to Mumbai for a few days but managed to make it back to US in time for the big event.
Koena shares her memories saying, “I had a blast partying non-stop for 48 hours at my friend’s house party in Chicago at Hollywood Hills. Then we moved to the open street party, where everyone mingles. It was my first ever Halloween and I was really excited about dressing up.”
About her costume she said, “I had big hair with feathers coming out that looked like a bird nest on my head. I also wore huge eyelashes, long nails and super high heels. The colours were blue and black.
I wanted to go for a stylish look that is also courageous and bold. Someone suggested I have a black tongue but I wasn’t yet ready for something so daring. It was amazing to see people wear the most outrageous costumes ever.”
Koena also took her stand for a cause by walking in famous Santa Monica Boulevard for the annual LA Gay Pride march. Talking about the event, she said, “It’s an iconic event that has people from all over the world coming to the city to witness. It’s a huge carnival with so many different colours and people in daring ensembles. I went with my girlfriends and we partied and danced till early morning.”
The much awaited festival of Diwali is here and with two mega releases, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 3’ and Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replayy’, the box-office awaits big time success. Bollywood stars are also all set to celebrate the festival with their friends, family and well-wishers.
The Bachchan Bahu, who has her hopes pinned on ‘Action Replayy’ this Diwali says that she likes to celebrate the festival with her family. “I like to spend Diwali with family, friends and loved ones. This is something I remember doing since I was a kid. Even though it’s a family of full-fledged veterans from the film industry; we always make time to celebrate Diwali as a family,” said Aishwarya.
Hrithik Roshan too is awaiting success with ‘Guzaarish’ once again opposite Aishwarya and says that he will not be spending Diwali in Bombat due to pollution in the city. He says, “I am celebrating Diwali hopefully not in Bombay because I have problem with the pollution and my son has a bronchial problem. I hope there was a better way to celebrate Diwali, without polluting the atmosphere. I used to rejoice and buy crackers of Rs.10,000, but now I realise that this is not the best thing to do. It’s dangerous and bad for health.”
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra will be celebrating their first Diwali as a couple and plan to throw a card party to celebrate the occassion. Priyanka Chopra is in Berlin and will be celebrating Diwali with her family there and then leave for London. “I’ll go to London. I have family there and it may just be a fun holiday.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan share a sparking chemistry on-screen and their steamy lip lock in blockbuster ‘Dhoom 2’ had created stirs nationwide, so much so that father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan had the makers of the film delete the scene.
Once again, Bachchan Bahu is in a dilemma for her forthcoming release ‘Guzaarish’ with Hrithik again has a steamy scene between the two actors which could create an uncomfortable situation for her when the movie hits the screens. Sources reveal that Aishwarya has had a debate with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali over deleting the scene from the film and though the filmmaker is not sure whether or not to have it removed from ‘Guzaarish’, chances are there that the hot and intimate scene would be removed in the best interests of everyone.
Now, whether the interest of the leading lady wins over the interest of the film, is all to be waited and watched….
This is perhaps for the first time that a director has to use a body double because the actress is too sexy and too perfect for a dare bare scene. This happened with the director Vishal Bhardwaj when he had to shoot a bare back scene with actress Priyanka Chopra in ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’.
The scene has Priyanka play a 38 year old woman who is out of her mind and wants assurance of her beauty. So, she drops her gown when the Naseeruddin Shah’s son Vivaan’s character goes in her room. But Priyanka has too toned perfect back for a 38 year old woman and so the director decided to go for a body double instead.
Priyanka will be playing the role of a thirty-eight year old lady in that particular scene of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ with Vivaan and yes, Vivaan doesn’t play her lover in the film.
What could be a better visual treat to see delicate and petite Dia Mirza in an unconventional white bridal lehenga and Himachal beauty Kangana Ranaut all dolled up in a bridal attire. That was exactly what viewers witnessed at Aamby Valley India Bridal Week where the two Bollywood beauties turned showstoppers for designer’s wedding collections.
Dia looked breathtakingly beautiful as she donned on a Rocky S creation on the opening day of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week.
“What is interesting is to see an Indian bride in a white lehenga. So surreal and beautiful. The garment is stunning and I think that in itself is a reflection of the line. What Rocky is trying to do with this collection is asking why stick with the mould? Break it and try something new,” said Dia.
“And I think it works very well because wearing it I felt beautiful. The garment is stunning and quite honestly, if I were to be getting married, white could be quite a colour for me,” the actress said.
