The industry is keeping its fingers crossed for the release of Salman Khan’s ‘Ready’ which happens to be the first big release after IPL fever gets over. However, as the production house gears up for the dazzling world premiere of the flick in Dubai, the leading lady of the film, Asin Thottumkal, will be conspicuous by her absence in the scene.
Before you predict the reason for her absence to be some sort of conflict with the makers, let us clear it out here that Asin will not be able to attend the premiere because of her passport problems.
Asin has been signed on as one of the 18 actors in Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2 and had applied for UK visa as she is supposed to shoot some sequences of the film in London. She had given her passport to Nadiadwala Grandsons, the production house for ‘Housefull 2’, but her passport seems to be stuck for some reasons.
Asin confirmed the news saying, “I was looking forward to the world premiere of Ready happening in Dubai. Both Salman and I were supposed to go but now I am stuck.
I have not given up hope though and I am ready to fly even at the last minute. I am just praying that I get my passport. I have even packed my bags. Let’s hope that the passport comes at the last minute and I get to attend.”
Well, we guess ‘Ready’ will have to celebrate its world premiere without its beautiful heroine!!

Marriage and motherhood are doing wonders for actress Mahima Chaudhary who was all smiles and elegance as she promoted Red Mobiles with former cricketer Kapil Dev in Kolkata this Sunday.
The actress, who made her debut with ‘Pardes’, is all set to make her comeback with the Wilfred Lobo directed ‘Mumbai The Gangsters’, based on a real life fake encounter, opposite Om Puri.
Asked about the reason behind a two year gap in her acting career, she said, “I always seek roles of substance and challenging ones. I also prefer good, entertaining films.”
“Last week I started working on a film opposite Om Puri. Hopefully I will be doing more good jobs in future,” she added.
However, Mahima admitted that it is the role of a mother that has been the best in her life. “I am happy with the best role of a mother that I am playing now,” she commented.
While in Kolkata, she also said that she is ready to work with all the good directors in West Bengal if she gets a chance to work with them in future years.

Arshad Warsi has already tasted success with sequels of ‘Dhamaal’, ‘Lage Raho Munnabahi’ and ‘Golmaal’ and he is all set now for yet another one in the sequel of his hit movie ‘Ishqiya’.
“Finally, it is decided that the sequel of Ishqiya is being made. I’m quite happy about that. Ishqiya is way tougher than Dhamaal or Golmaal because that’s a character that speaks in a different dialect,” Arshad said in an interview.
“It’s completely somebody else. I’ve not played such a character before. So speaking in that language, behaving that way, body language, colour and attitude – everything is very different. So, it’s exciting and a lot of fun,” he added.
Ishqiya received critical reviews nationwide and also bagged four National Awards. Released in January 2010, the film portrayed Arshad in the difficult and challenging role of rusty and hot-blooded Babban. The film also starred Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah, was directed by Abhishek Chaubey and was produced by Vishal Bhardwaj.
However, after being a part of so many sequels, Warsi does admit that he does not really enjoy doing sequels so much now.
“I feel I’m stuck with the sequels. New things are better. Sequels are big risks. The expectations are way high because you have already put a benchmark for yourself, now you are competing with yourself and at the same time, you can’t overdo. You have to still be in the same zone and still make people like it,” said Arshad.
“For me, I don’t like doing sequels, I like doing different things. It’s like eating the same food everyday. It’s monotonous for me,” he added.
However, looking at the success of all his sequels, we feel that Arshad and sequels blend in successfully well!!

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra own a sprawling six-bedroom Woodlawn Cottage on the exclusive estate of the St. George’s Hill community in Weybridge, Surrey. Former residents of the estate include singer Elton John, former Beatle Ringo Starr and Hollywood actress Kate Winslet.
However, a gang of six squatters have moved into this abandoned three million pound property and claim that it is legal for them to move here as the lock was already broken and they plan to stay as long as possible.
‘It is legal for me to be here. I found the place on Google maps so I came up to have a look and the place was open. The locks had been broken off, no one was living here, it was completely open – so why not?’ a squatter named Stefan Cybulski said.
The celebrity residents of the estate want to send these people out but the law seems to be in their favor.
‘It does seem pretty extraordinary that the police can’t do anything to get these people off the estate,’ a resident said adding, ‘They have no right to be here, yet the law appears to be on their side – it’s completely wrong.’
As of now, the property is under surveillance of a security guard and the police have also set up extra patrol of the area.

Katrina Kaif is one actress who has made it to the top slot of Bollywood on the basis of sheer beauty and glamour because her acting skills and dialogue delivery is still a major target with critics. However, the pretty lady is all set to prove that she can impress her fans even without her oomph and glamour because she will be seen without any traces of makeup for Kabir Khan’s next ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ where she is paired opposite Salman Khan.
Kabir has strictly instructed Katrina to use no make-up at all before her shots as she plays a character is of a girl-next-door who doesn’t stand out in the crowd. Kats will not even be allowed to dab on some natural-colored lipstick or touch up her face before every shot, like a lot of actresses do while playing de-glam roles. Sources imply that the brief to Katrina from Kabir strictly read, ‘Your only makeup would be face-wash before every shot.”
Though we have full confidence in Kabir Khan’s visualization of his characters, how Kaif’s fans react to her de-glam avatar is yet to be seen………
