We all know that Katrina Kaif has a musical bent. In past, she has done a bit of vocals in nursery rhymes for a kid’s album by ace music master A. R. Rahman. She also learnt to play the guitar from Farhan Akhtar during Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and sure enough, she used this talent in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, where she has played the character of a rockstar.
Now that she is doing a romantic comedy with Ali Zafar, she is bonding quite well with her co-star on the musical notes. The two actors are even planning on a musical album of their own.
However, Katrina refuses to divulge much. She says, “Ali and I have definitely hit it off musically. We share a lot of common musical interests that we’re trying to take further. Let’s see where it goes.”
Katrina and Ali, we hear, enjoy each other’s company and spend a lot of time together, discussing music, of course!!
It was sad for Pankaj Kapur’s eagerly awaited directorial debut ‘Mausam’ to be ousted from the Toronto film festival line-up, a day before it was to premiere, for the sheer reason that the film failed to get regulatory approvals in India in time. As such, three screenings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Toronto as well as a press conference with world media had to be cancelled at the last minute on Tuesday. Even the release of the film in India may get delayed due to objections by the Indian Air Force on some scenes.
“We ran into a delay getting approvals from the Indian Air Force and the Board of Film Certification in India,” producer Sheetal Talwar said.
The film deals with the story of an Indian Air Force pilot from the Punjab (played by Shahid Kapoor) who is in love with a woman from Kashmir (Sonam Kapoor).
In her entire career span, Priyanka Chopra has done only one item number and that was for SRK in the actor’s home production ‘Billu Barber’. The actress has ever since stayed away from gyrating on item songs and she erecently refused the offer from Dinesh Vijan, the co-owner of Illuminati Films, to do an item song for Saif Ali Khan’s home production ‘Agent Vinod’. Thought the production house met up with Priyanka in London and offered her the item number, Priyanka Chopra was very clear about not doing the number.
Meanwhile, Priyanka paid a visit to Andheri Cha Raja Ganpati on September 13. She was accompanied by her father Ashok Chopra.

Now, she has another item number in her kitty. If sources have it correct, Kats will gyrate to an item song with Sanjay Dutt in Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Agnipath’. Now, since Sanjay Dutt needs to hone his dancing skills in order to match steps with Katrina, he will be taking a two week off for the rehearsal. Rumors also have it that the item song will be somewhat similar to that of Amitabh Bachchan’s chartbuster ‘Jhuma Chooma De Dein’ from Mukul Anand’s Hum. The music for this number has been given by Ajay and Atul Gogavale, who had composed the music of ‘Singham’.
Seems like Vidya Balan’s new sexy avatar has given a lot of motivational inspirations to a lot of movie stars. The latest one to be smitten by Vidya Balan’s sensuous photoshoot for FHM’s Indian Edition November 2010 issue is none other than Bengali superstar Rituparna Sengupta.
Rituparna Sengupta has copied Vidya’s look in totality for Agnidev Chatterjee’s “Charulata 2011”. From Vidya’s curled hair, her posture and her backless choli to her bordered white sari, jhumka and anklet, everything is inspired by Vidya’s look. Only that Vidya chose for a green and white combination for her saree, Rituparna sports a red and white saree.
When Agnidev was asked about this ‘inspiration’, he said, “My film is about a new-age Charulata. It has very little to do with Ray’s cinema or Tagore’s Nastanir. We wanted a contemporary look. The emotions are strong and bold. Rituparna’s character is into a reasonably successful marriage — except for the fact that she is sexually starved in the relationship. This look is from a dream sequence when she is hospitalized after a miscarriage. During the dream, she feels undressed. Rituparna and I sat together and decided on this look.”

Though Kareena Kapoor is not a trained Kathak dancer, the beauty has managed to perform very convincing Mujra number (the first in her career) for her forthcoming flick ‘Agent Vinod’. Mujra has always been a favourite in Bollywood and many of our actresses ranging right from Madhubala, Rekha and Hema Malini to Madhuri, Aishwarya, Sushmita and Rani Mukherjee have tried their hands at it.
The song has been choreographed by Saroj Khan and Kareena has been styled by Manish Malhotra in a bright red attire and loosely pinned hair.
Since Kareena is not a trained dancer, she took as long as nearly 22 hours to shoot the sequence with takes and re-takes. Finally, when it got over, she had bruises over her hands and knees as the song involved many floor movements besides other dance steps.
However, the outcome is so ravishing that the pain was worth the gain!!
The Bachchan Bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is in the seventh month of her pregnancy and post her walk out from Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’, she has stayed away from cameras (except for the shoot of Lux commercial). Recently, the actress visited the Siddhivinayak Temple to offer prayers accompanied by her father Krishnaraj and mother Brinda. Ash offered a puja thali to the priest and after the prayers were done, she also took the Prasad from the pandit.
Aishwarya looked very much a simple Indian woman attired in a salwar suit and with a saffron cloth over her shoulders. With the saffron cloth covering her, those who hoped to get a glimpse of her baby bump had to give in to the disappointment.
Both Rishi Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor have carved their niche in Bollywood industry but the two have not appeared together in any flick as yet. However, they have for the first time shot a commercial together for the cola brand Pepsi which will go on air Sep 15.
‘Wake Up Sid’ director Ayan Mukherji directed a teaser to the TVC too. The teaser shows a father dismissing his son’s chances of becoming a Crorepati while the son has a plan in place.

The newly-opened Poggenpohl store witnessed a gathering of Mumbai’s high profile people at its launch on Friday. Actress Deepika Padukone graced the launch and told the guests that when she bought her dream house recently, she turned to them when it came to doing up her kitchen and it was Martin Gill of Poggenpohl who did it.
The evening ended with a musical note from Remo Fernandes. Others who attended the event were Kishor and Kintu Bajaj, Rahul and Barkha Sharma, Varuna Jani, Niranjan Hiranandani and others.

There was a lot of hullaboo when Rakhi Sawant called off her engagement after her much publicized ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’. Now, Ratan Rajput seems to be on the same route it seems. Amidst much glamour and glitter, Ratan got engaged to Delhi-based Abhinav Sharma on a reality show and since then, nothing has progressed on the marriage front.
However, Ratan explains her missing act saying that she was in Noida to spend sometime with Abhinav who stays there.
On being asked about her closeness to Abhinav, Ratan said, “Attachment toh ho gayi hai. We have become good friends and we care for each other. In fact, we’ve realised we have a lot of similarities.”
However, for the wedding bells Ratan says that it will have to wait. “It’s too early to say anything on that. We are still getting to know each other,” she said.
However hard Sajid Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez may try to deny the rumors of their romantic linkup, but their chemistry and bonding is more than obvious. The two have been spotted enjoying each other’s company and proximity several times, on the sets of the movie in London, multiplexes and restaurants in Mumbai, quite often. Sajid Khan has become very protective about this Sri Lankan beauty these days.
Gossip columns are abuzz these days with the prediction that the two are set to tie the knot in 2012 and that Sajid’s parents have also given their approval to this decision. By that time Jacqueline should be free from Krrish 2.
