Though the release date of Kalki Koechlin and Prateik Babbar starrer ‘My Friend Pinto’ is drawing close, the promotions of the same have been going on a lower gear.
Kalki and Prateik were seen walking the ramp at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and grabbing audience’s attention by making faces and giving out funny expressions. Next, they were spotted going on an ice-cream binge with gelato.
The film is close to Prateik’s heart as it shows how Prateik’s life changes after his mother dies and Prateik, who is the son of late actress Smita Patil, sees a strong resemblance between his character’s story and his own personal life. So much touched is Prateik by the subject that the promotional events of the film have been kept on a lower gear because Prateik doesn’t want to publicly speak on this sensitive subject repeatedly.
Raghav Dhar, the film’s director, says, “Smitaji passed away when Prateik was just a baby. But in the film, Prateik plays a character whose mother has just passed away. He lives by whatever his mother has told him is right way to live life. That was the only reference.”
It has really been busy months for Vidya Balan shooting for Milan Lutharia’s ‘The Dirty Picture’ where she essays the role of South siren Silk Smitha. Too much strain has taken a toll on her health following which she experienced dizziness and had to be admitted in Lilavati hospital where she was diagnosed with low hemoglobin (RBC count) level.
She was later discharged from the hospital after being advised complete bed rest for a week. Now, Vidya is strictly following the orders of the doctors and is trying to get as much rest as possible. Her parents and sister have been nursing and taking care of her, while her nephews, Ira and Ruhaan, keep her spirits high.
When it comes to carrying off style with grace and elegance, Deepika Padukone does it perfectly and she proved it for sure as she walked the ramp on the third day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in Delhi for fashion designer Wendell Rodricks on the third day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in Delhi.
Wendell had portrayed Deepika as a Christian bride for his Moonlight Beach themed collection which was set in a backdrop of an evening party on a Goa beach. As the night clocked on, the moon rose and a bunch of Goan lads appeared with their guitars.
Her white bridal gown with floral motifs made Deepika fall in love with it. Later she was quoted saying at the show, “If I will do a Christian wedding I will definitely wear Wendell’s designs. He is just superb.”
With his ambitious project ‘Ra.One’ about to hit the screens, Shahrukh Khan seems to be everywhere these days right from the smaller screen to magazine photo shoots. King Khan has made a statement by appearing on the covers of the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar flanked by the Kingfisher hotties Angela Jonsson and Lisa Haydon.
He is rightly attired for the theme ‘King of Hearts’ wearing a black sheer shirt revealing his shaven chest teamed up with red pants by Dior. Angela Jonsson compliments him perfectly in a gossamer white creation while Lisa Haydon goes for the black. The photoshoot is done by the leading fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar.

Prateik Babbar made his debut in Bollywood with ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ in 2008. It has been a slow going since then and Prateik will be seen in ‘My Friend Pinto’ next.
He has also been signed for ‘Issaq’ which is Shailesh Singh’s adaptation of the Shakespearean play. Since the movie is set in Varanasi, Prateik is going through Banarasi Hindi diction classes, doing ‘riyaaz’ (taking music lessons) and spending hours in the gym working on his body.
Elaborating his character in the film, Prateik says, “The character I play kills to survive, so he needs to be lean and agile. We’ve retained the gist of the story about forbidden love and a family feud, but it’s not an exact remake. Director Manish Tiwary has crafted a clever adaptation that weaves in the Naxalite angle.”
Talking about love and his girlfriends, Prateik says, “The parents of the girls I’ve dated always approved of me. But if I were to find myself in one, I’d behave exactly like Romeo and do everything he did.”
After ‘Rascals’, Sanjay Dutt has all plans in place for his next production, ‘Satte Pe Satta’ remake to go on floors in December. There had been a lot of speculations about who would be cast as the female lead and the guesses included the likes of Kajol, Vidya Balan, Rani Mukherjee, Aishwarya and even Madhuri Dixit. However, it is finally Karisma Kapoor who has landed up with the role. Karisma is making a comeback on the silver screen with ‘Dangerous Ishq’. Says Sanjay Dutt, “Satte Pe Satta is an iconic film. It was a trendsetter in the 1980s. Sir (Amitabh Bachchan) played the dual roles of Ravi and Babu so well, if I can even manage five per cent of what he did, I’ll be a happy man.”
Soham Shah will direct the film and Sanjay plans to request Big B himself to intorduce the characters in the movie.
Well! Well! It seems Junior Bachchan has someone to share his pain with…. After Abhishek fractured his fingers, his father Amitabh too suffers a hairline rib fracture while he was shooting for an action scene on the sets of Ram Gopal Varma’s Department. Whether he was hit by the elbow or the butt of the security carrying a carbine in the shot, it could not be found out. However, the mishap internally ruptured the flesh cover over the rib.
The X-Ray and CT scan later revealed that he had a hairline fracture in his rib and as per the doctor, it would heal on its own.
Big B posted on his blog. “There is a fracture in the rib, albeit hairline; it cannot be given any treatment, for such ailments are left to heal on their own…That takes care of the next 3-4 weeks because that is the recognized healing period. Bear the pain and that is it… Damn!”
“The hot water bottle has become my greatest companion for the last two days and, with the results of the CT scan, it looks like I shall stay with it much longer than I had imagined. It’s such a useful element in the house. And from the time I realized the difference between hot and cold, the hot water bottle has never undergone any change in size or shape. It has been like this for donkey’s years. The winter in Allahabad and Delhi are distinct reminders of it,” he added.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif may have broken up, but Salman makes it sure that he is around for Kats whenever she needs him. The two were shooting for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ in Dublin when Katrina Kaif faced an embarrassing moment.
While shooting at Trinity College Dublin, Katrina Kaif, clad in a short white dress, suffered a wardrobe malfunction. She was supposed to ride a bicycle and the dress was apparently not suitable for the shot. The moment Katrina lifted her leg to get on the bicycle, she lost her balance and her underwear was exposed. Salman immediately rushed to help her and prevented the matters from going worse but unfortunately the damage was already done.
Scheduled for November 4, 2001 release, ‘Miley Naa Miley Hum’ is a romantic comedy starring Kangana Ranaut and Chirag Paswan along with Sagarike Ghatge. The movie was originally titled ‘One and Only’ and underwent a name change on the request of actor Chirag Paswan, who wanted his debut film to have a Hindi title. Producer Anuj Saxena says, Says Anuj, “ONE AND ONLY was a working title, and when Chirag suggested a change, we were in the process of looking for new names. We tested the new title within the group, and everyone seemed to prefer it, so we are now going with this.”
The flick is directed by Tanveer Khan and produced by Anuj Saxena under the banner of Maverick Productions.
