Post her marriage, Twinkle Khanna gave up acting, took up interior designing full time and has shied away from limelight since then. Besides just one ad for a soft drink many years back, and one photo shoot with hubby Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna has not faced camera for some nine years now. Last seen in ‘Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ in 2001, Twinkle is now all set to face the camera for a commercial with Akki for the ad campaign of the cell phone brand he endorses. Twinkle was initially reluctant to do the commercial which, in all probability, will be directed by Anurag Basu. However, Akshay was totally convinced by the concept and convinced her to accept the proposal. Akshay has even asked her to consider doing more ads.

Akshaye Khanna, at present, is shooting for Priyadarshan’s ‘Aakrosh’ where he stars along with Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu. The movie deals with the serious issue of problems with inter caste marriages in Bihar and other caste system dilemma.

However, his co-stars were in for a shock when Akshay displayed utter unprofessional attitude on the sets as he refused to pose for the schedules photo shoot with Ajay and Bipasha for the reason that his producers had not cleared some of his dues. He kept his co-stars waiting and refused to give in until his payment issues were cleared.

Though Akshay has already done ‘Deewangee’ and ‘Race’ with both of them and is known for his reclusive behaviour and just formal and cordial relations with his co-stars, this kind of unprofessional attitude was something least expected by any one.

Sometime back, Abbas-Mastaan had expressed their intentions of doing the remake of the popular Hollywood movie ‘The Italian Job’. The rumor mills churned out that the flick would star Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor together, along with Neil Mukesh and Katrina Kaif.

Now, the news is back in circulation again with some changes which include that the remake would not star Kareena and will also have Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Khanna and Kunal Kapoor. The script has been penned down by Rohit Jugraj with a lot of changes from the original one. However, the producers and Abbas-Mastaan have already bought the remake rights.

“For one, the stakes for the heist are much higher. The situations, fights and adventures are all different - and so are the characters,” said Jugraj. Revealing about the casting, the duo stated that they have not yet locked in the entire cast, but are indeed in talks to rope in the above mentioned stars. “It’s a very big project and we need to get the biggest names in place before we start,” said the filmmakers.

Twinkle Khanna had done quite a few films at the beginning of her career which anyway did not give any boost to her stardom. When she tied knots with Khiladi Akshay Kumar nine years ago, she chose to keep a low profile and dedicated herself to marriage, family and her career as an interior designer. Who says that two beautiful and successful actresses can’t be friends? We have gorgeous Sushmita Sen and Himachal beauty Kangana Ranaut bonging just too well on the sets of Anees Bazmee’s ‘No Problem’ which is produced by Anil Kapoor. The two actresses are doing a film together for the first time. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Sushmita Sen, Kangana Ranaut, Neetu Chandra and Paresh Rawal.

At present, the cast and crew of the film are in South Africa and sources have it that the two ladies are having a blast together. Also, Sush is encouraging Kangana to take up driving seriously as Kangana seems to have a driving phobia. Though she owns a car, she does not drive along the Mumbai city.

In South Africa, Sushmita is taking all efforts to encourage Kangana to try driving. She even gets into the car with Kangana and gives instructions as she drives short distances around their hotel there. This seems to have a positive effect and now Kangana has started to enjoy driving.

Neetu Chandra has lately been in news more for her controversial photoshoots than for her roles in the films. Now, she has been signed for an important role in ‘No Problem’ directed by Annez Bazmi and produced by Anil Kapoor. The movie is a comedy and stars Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Kangana Ranaut, Sushmita Sen and Paresh Rawal. Neetu will be paired opposite Sanjay Dutt for the first time.

Bazmee confirmed the news that Neetu Chandra had been signed on for an important role and added, “I cannot reveal anything about her role now because it’s too early, but yes, Neetu is going to be the surprise package in the film. She suited the role perfectly.”

Revealing more about the film, he said, “I am planning to start shooting the film next month in South Africa and it will be a 50-day long schedule. After that we will have one more schedule in Singapore and Bangkok.”

‘Shortkut’ may be termed as the re-incarnation for Amrita Rao into a glamorous and sizzling avatar from a petite, girl-next-door image. The gossip columns and journals are abuzz with the sensuality she oozes in the promos of the film. Amrita, by far had kept away from skin-show but finally she has realized that if she aspires of success in the glamour world, she has to take the ‘Shortcut’ of being bold and sexy. And her realization does show in the sizzling hot promos of the film.

The film is a light-hearted comedy dealing with the ups and downs in the life of two con artists, Shekhar (played by Akshaye Khanna) who is a struggling director and Chandu (played by Arshad Warsi) who despite lacking in talents manages to make it big in the tinsel town after she steals Shekhar’s prized script.

Amrita Rao plays the role of Mansi, Shekhar’s love interest who later becomes his wife and what follows is confusion, clash of egos and humorous sequences when Shekhar gets to direct Chandu, the superstar.

This summer Bollywood is all bent on rising the mercury to its highest. If the bikini avatars of Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora in ‘Kambakth Ishq’ and Lara Dutta in ‘Blue’ were not enough, we will have sweet and nubile Amrita Rao too unleash her sexy avatar with her upcoming summer release flick ‘Shortkut’.

This Anil Kapoor production co-stars Akshaye Khanna and Arshad Warsi and is being directed by Neeraj Vora. Amrita will be flaunting her abs and legs in skimpy clothes for the movie and this makeover for her has been done by none other than designer guru, Manish Malhotra.

States Amrita in this regards, “Till now most of my characters in the films that have done have been conservative and that is why I have had to dress the part.

In Vivaah, the character was so traditional that the attire had to support her beliefs. But Shortkut is a different film and I am wearing clothes accordingly. And all I can say that Manish has done a fabulous job and I feel I am looking great.”

Day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 saw Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar walk down the ramp. Where SRK showcased the outfit of designer Manish Malhotra in black and gold, the color of his IPL team, Akshay set the ramp afire in a black muscle sleeve Levi’s Tee and washed denim jeans. The show divided into four parts featured denim as it has never been seen before created into mind-boggling styles by India’s top couturier Tarun Tahiliani.

With the advent of a new year on Jan 1, Vidya Balan has ventured on new arenas. Vidya’s birthday falls on the 1st Jan itself and this year she went to Panchgani with her family for birthday celebrations. The New Year brought two new promising roles for Vidya. One is Nikhil Advani’s ‘Chand Bhai’ and the other is Vibhu Puri’s ‘Chenab Gandhi’. The latter is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. ‘Chand Bhai’ does not have Miss Balan in the central role and she gets to pair opposite Akshaye Khanna. The film is based on a delinquent boy’s character and has a social message attached to it.

Advani’s ‘Chand Bhai’ is a far cry from Advani’s last release ‘Chandni Chowk To China’. Says Vidya, “It’s nothing like the high-flying glam-wham stuff that one expects from Nikhil after Chandni Chowk. Chand Bhai is a stark very real kind of drama. And I get to co-star with a very talented actor Akshaye Khanna with whom I was in Nikhil’s Salaam-e-Ishq though we had just one passing shot together.”

Vidya is excited about ‘Chenab Gandhi’ too and says, “I haven’t really interacted that much with my co-star Hurman as yet. With Mr. Bachchan who plays the title role, I share a lifelong bonding. Right from Eklavya we’ve been paired in so many films right up to Chenab Gandhi and now Balki’s Pa. If I did all the films last year that I was offered with Mr. Bachchan, I wouldn’t be working with anyone else.”

Farhan Akhtar is carving out his niche in this glamour world in different avatars. He has won critical acclaims for his acting in ‘Rock On’ and just released ‘Luck By Chnace’. Even his talk show, ‘Oye! Its Friday’ is fast gaining popularity.
