‘Kaun Banega Host’ for ‘Big Boss 4′

Now the 4th season of the popular show, ‘Big Boss’, is facing a host crisis. Since the channel has a policy of not repeating its hosts, they did not approach Big B on the first hand and by the time they realized that getting a good replacement is getting difficult, it was too late because Big B had already committed himself to hosting season 4 of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.

Then the channel approached SRK for the role but unfortunately SRK did not have dates as he is already booked for Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2’ with Priyanka Chopra. ‘Colors’ even offered him a larger remuneration than Big B but to no avail.

With no options left, the channel is now trying to get Akshay Kumar to play host on ‘Bigg Boss 4’. And if the Khiladi Kumar turns down the offer too, the viewers will have to do with some non-film celebrity as host.

Make way gals, Trisha Krishnan is here to stay

Priyadarshan’s ‘Khatta Mitha’ is in news not only for its director and Box office king Akshay Kumar but also for the fact that South siren Trisha Krishnan is making her Bollywood debut with this comic flick. Trisha is very successful down south and has as many as 35 films to her credit there making a mark for herself with versatile roles. Trisha will be playing a coy, pretty innocent and timid girl in the film and is ecstatic with the fact that she bagged in her Bollywood debut with none other than Akshay himself. Says a gushing Trisha “Akshay Kumar is my producer and my hero.”

She goes on to add, “I made my debut in the south with Priyadarshan and now will be making my Bollywood debut with him as well. We were in talks for quite a while now and he thought Khatta Meetha would be the most apt movie for me to make my Bollywood debut.”

Farah, Salman and Shahrukh: The Khan war continues

That SRK and Farah Khan do not share those warmest vibes now, is stale and was quite evident when Farah opted for Akshay Kumar for her ‘Tees Maar Khan’ instead of Bollywood Baadshah. To add to it, the little birdie has it that Farah is keen on casting Salman Khan for her forthcoming projects.

Salman and Farah share a close friendship and have been pals since a long time. Recently, when Salman Khan came as a guest judge on a dance reality show which Farah judges, the question of he being selected for the lead role in the sequel of Farah’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Main Hoon Na’ cropped up which Salman evaded but it was denied neither by Farah nor by him. Moreover, Farah also said that Salman would be there in the sequels.

However, this has not gone down well with SRK who has delivered many mega hits with Farah. In fact, at an interview he was at his jovial best with the media but when this question cropped up, he kept calm and also the smile faded from his face.

Well, this triangle is going to turn into a messy one, it seems…..

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya in ‘Action Replayy’

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai are all geared up for the completion of their first comedy together, ‘Action Replayy’ which took a bit too long for completion.

Talking about this being his first stint with Ash in comedy, Akshay said, “It is my fifth film with director Vipul Shah and definitely another one to remember. Ash and I had a brief romantic interlude in Rajkumar Santoshi`s Khakee, but Action Replayy is our first romantic comedy together. Believe me, I was blushing through the making,” Akshay said in a statement.

“There`s a lot I wish to tell my audience about. But Vipul wants me to keep things under wraps for the moment. It`s a very special film for me for many reasons. This is my tribute to the 1970s that was the greatest retro era. I was kicked with the idea because I`m entering the time in cinema where my father-in-law was a superstar,” added Akshay.

This all in all light romantic comedy revolves around Kishen and Mala - two bickering senior citizens who go on a rewind mode on their 33rd wedding anniversary only to rediscover their lost romance.

Director Vipul Shah said, “Akki (Akshay) and I have an impeccable box office record. We enjoyed success with Aankhen, Waqt - Race Against Time, Namastey London and Singh is Kinng. “Action Replayy is a film where the two of us return after a gap of almost three years. And believe me, it is a great way to return.

For me, it was an exciting experience because I could bring together Aishwarya and Akshay, a pair I had been wanting to cast for sometime now. They`re both good looking, super-talented and what`s more, they`re fashion icons as well. Akki has made an amazing screen pair with some of the existing girls but believe me, he and Ash are extra special.”

Lara Dutta roped in the cast for ‘Don 2′

Finally, Lara Dutta’s long cherished dream of playing an action-packed role is going to come true as she bags in a role in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2’. Though not much is being revealed about Lara’s role in the film, she is supposedly playing femme fatale in the flick for which she had to learn some martial arts. Lara’ role is not the one played by Isha Koppikar, but the part has been specially written for her.

Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Rampal have already been finalized for the sequel and with Lara joining in the cast, The two former Miss India’s (Lara, Miss Universe and Priyanka, Miss World) will be seen together in the flick after a long gap since they first debuted in Andaaz opposite Akshay Kumar in 2003.

Twinkle Khanna to do a commercial with Akshay Kumar

Post her marriage, Twinkle Khanna gave up acting, took up interior designing full time and has shied away from limelight since then. Besides just one ad for a soft drink many years back, and one photo shoot with hubby Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna has not faced camera for some nine years now. Last seen in ‘Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ in 2001, Twinkle is now all set to face the camera for a commercial with Akki for the ad campaign of the cell phone brand he endorses. Twinkle was initially reluctant to do the commercial which, in all probability, will be directed by Anurag Basu. However, Akshay was totally convinced by the concept and convinced her to accept the proposal. Akshay has even asked her to consider doing more ads.
