Aamir Khan to perform on stage after ten long years

It has been ten long years since the perfectionist Aamir Khan performed on stage, but if the sources are to be believed, this talented actor has given a nod to perform for the concert planned by Cine Artistes Association with the motive of improving the standard and generating funds for the junior artistes of Bollywood.

Johny Lever, the President of the Cine Artistes Association says, “Our association has completed 50 years. I have personally requested Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and several other Bollywood biggies to perform for us. We need funds to rehabilitate and provide resources to junior artistes who are finding it hard to make ends meet.”

Not only has Aamir agreed to perform, he has sent out personal text messages to all the big names in the business asking them to participate.

“SRK has agreed, so has Hrithik. The list is long but I must say that whoever we approached, has agreed to contribute personally. They have realised that the concert, which will later be televised on a satellite channel, is being done for a worthy cause,” said Johny.

Rani Mukherjee wins V. Shantaram awards

There was a time when Rani Mukherjee was the reigning queen of Bollywood and any award function was incomplete without she bagging an award, but the scene is a bit different now and she has been missing critical acclaim for her performance since a long time. Even, ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ could not do any magic to revive her sinking career. Nevertheless, she has bagged in the V Shantaram awards for best actress for ‘Dil Bole Haddipa’. Rani Mukherji said “Dil Bole Haddipa” was close to her heart because she had worked hard portraying a cricket crazy sikh boy and also learnt the sport. Check out Rani Mukherjee at the event.

Sherlyn Chopra & Claudia Ciesla at Apex Awards 2009

APEX 2009 awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry — in the opinion of the judges — in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.

Naturally, entries in design categories were judged solely on the basis of their graphic design, and writing entries were evaluated primarily on the basis of editorial quality.

A total of 100 APEX Grand Awards were presented in 11 major categories to honor the outstanding works in those categories. 1,158 APEX Awards of Excellence recognize excellence in 122 individual categories.

Adding the glamour quotient to the ceremony were the Big Boss (Season 3) inmates Claudia Ciesla & Sherlyn Chopra. The Sow started on 4th October 2009 on Colors and will continue to do so daily at 9 p.m. for 84 Days with Amitabh Bachchan as the host. Where Sherlyn was evicted quite early, Claudia was evicted after staying 10 weeks in the show on day 68.

ShahRukh Khan honored with the 5th degree black belt of Taekwando

King Khan has added a new feather to his cap. The Korean Government conferred upon him an ‘Honorary Black belt of Taekwondo‘ title. However, it may be mentioned here that even as SRK gets a 5th degree black belt of Taekwondo he knows nothing of the sport.

An elated SRK said that he felt like a tough guy despite doing mostly romantic films in his two-decade-old career but he has no plans to switch to the action genre and will stick to his lover-boy image.

“I am just recovering from my shoulder injury and will take another two months to be fully fit. I plan to stick to romance and utilise both my hands perfectly first,” he said.

“My son Aryan is very angry with me. He has been practicing Taekwondo and will take another two years to earn this title,” joked Shah Rukh.

Meanwhile, on the other front Shah Rukh Khan walked the ramo with wife Gauri to showcase creations by designers Karan Johar and Varun Bhal on the final day of the HDIL India Couture Week in Mumbai.
