This week our hot Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut turned 22 years old and keeping the Bollywood tradition alive there was a big bash with a big birthday cake at Bling, a Mumbai nightclub.
Her close friends and colleagues were there including dear friend Adhyayan Suman and Mugdha Godse, but what was noticeably missing was the bright smile on the beautiful girl’s face as she arrived at the party looking gorgeous in a blue top and hot pants. In fact, to us, she looked like she was going to burst into tears at any moment.
Was it a tiff with lover Adhyayan or just the tension of getting an year older, that is best known to her. What we can say is ‘Happy Birthday, Kangana!’
Young as the actor feels and looks, it is surprising that Aamir Khan turned 44 years old this March 14. Aamir celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake with media at his house in Bandra, Mumbai.
Born on March 14, 1965 in Mumbai, Aamir first appeared on the silver screen as a child actor in his Uncle Nasir Hussain’s film ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’ in 1973. Then it was only eleven years later that he actually made his debut in Bollywood with the Ketan Mehta film Holi. Since then there has been no looking back for Aamir ‘Perfectionist’ Khan.
However, Aamir has a different opinion on birthdays. He calls them as mere numbers. “What matters is how old or young you feel.” He was once quoted as saying.
Currently, he is working with Raju Hirani in ‘3 Idiots’, he’s doing wife Kiran’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’, and there’s his home production ‘Delhi Belly’. The actor who is currently following a strict General Motors diet regimen for 3 idiots abstained from his own birthday cake.
Tusshar Kapoor delivered a hit last year with ‘Golmaal Returns’ but the actor postponed the success bash of the film due to Mumbai terror attacks in November last year. Now, the actor clubbed the pending celebrations with his birthday bash which was organized at his place.
Not to mention, all his well-wishers from Bollywood were present including Kareena Kapoor with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan. Also adding glamour to the party were Arora sisters, Malaika and Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitley. Sister Ekta Kapoor too did not miss the opportunity to share happy moments with her brother.
Apart from Bollywood bigwigs, including Shahrukh Khan, Farah Khan, Chunky Pandey and others at her birthday bash at her flat in Quantum Park building in Bandra on Saturday, Preity Zinta also had some unwanted visitors in the party.
It was the Mumbai police patrol team who had to after slum-dwellers in the neighbourhood complained of loud music early Sunday morning. The police ordered them to turn down the volume of the loudspeakers and said that the actress will be penalised as per the provisions for flouting noise pollution rules.
A local resident, Irfan Shaikh, said that very loud music was played in the party which started late Saturday and continued till the early hours Sunday.
“Whenever there is music or programmes in the slum areas, these people in big buildings complain against us and we have to shell out large fines. We also get disturbed and so we complained to the police,” he told media persons here Sunday morning.
Well, this was an irresponsible act from Zinta who has always shown her social responsibility and did so yet again on her birthday when she adopted orphaned girls from Mother Miracle School in Hrishikesh. As their guardian, Preity will take care of finances for their basic needs like food, clothing and education.
Adhyayan Suman celebrated his birthday in style. First, it was a surprise birthday gift from his parents, Shekhar and Alka Suman, a brand new car, which was gifted to him the night before his birthday. Then, it was a grand party at piano bar to celebrate the birthday as well as promote Adhyayan’s forthcoming film Raaz 2.
The impressive guest list included Imran Khan, Emraan Hashmi, Shekhar Suman, Mukesh Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, Monica Bedi, Mohit Suri and others. And of course, there was Kangana Ranaut who was spotted standing very close to Adhyayan all the time.

With 60, Hema Malini seems to be getting younger each day. This year, she had a though belated, but a rocking birthday party on Saturday night.
“I enjoyed myself thoroughly because all the people I love, all my close relatives and family were there. And of course Dharamji. How could he not be there?” beams Hema.
As for the birthday gifts, Hema said, “I’m too old for gifts. And still, I’m constantly getting gifts on my birthdays. The older guests gave me sarees. The younger ones made cards.
About the special birthday gift from the most special person in her life, Hema revealed, “Dharamji he has given me so much already. For this birthday he gave his gift in advance. It is some very elegant jewellery that I really wanted. Actually, my birthday celebration this year went on for a week. It started with a havan on 14th and ended with the party last night where I had a Bengali couple singing Ghazals (I like to encourage new talent). While they sang our party suddenly turned into a dance party. We all hit the floor.”
And yes, she does have some regrets too about the birthday. She says, “Rekha couldn’t come. I always invite her for all my birthday parties. This time I invited Zeenat (Aman). And she was kind enough to come. It’s good to catch up with colleagues once in a while. I’d have invited Raakhee also. But she wouldn’t come, I’m sure of that.”
Kareena’s 28th birthday couldn’t have been more special. She had her beau Saif with her in the chilling weather of North India and then getting an opportunity to meet the Jawans at Kargil. It was Bebo’s mom Babita’s idea that to make her birthday somewhat different and special, she spend her birthday with our soldiers working on duty at Kargil.
Speaking about this wonderful experience, Kareena says, “We weren’t just surprised to see Jawans working for our Country, but astonished to see that they were comfortable under such drastic climatic conditions.
Talking about how it happened, Kareena said, “As we were passing by Kargil one day prior to my birthday, mom told me to visit the Jawans as it would be a unique experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity to get their blessings as well. Both Saif and I were excited as well as amazed with the way the soldiers live in such extreme climates and still manage to keep calm under pressure, which gives us an immense sense of pride. We wish them luck and not just them but all the soldiers of our country and wish to thank them for all that they have sacrificed and done for us - the people.”
Now, this was a birthday party with some difference, considering the fact that it was a Bollywood birthday party but without fights and with patching up of old enemies. Yes, it was Saif Ali Khan’s birthday party at Four Seasons in Worli on August 16 where the long cold war between Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu seemed to come to an end.
The rift between Bips and Bebo has its roots at the sets of ‘Ajanabee’. It grew stronger as Kareena called John Abraham ‘expressionless’ on Karan Johar ’s show and Bipasha continuing with making an unflattering remark (she called Bebo an actress with ‘too many expressions’) about Kareena.
But this time Kareena herself took an initiative and personally invited Bipasha for the party. Bipasha was surprised to hear from Bebo and gladly accepted the invitation. At the party, the two girls took no time in breaking the ice and warming up. They simply got talking.
While the girls went for a friendship day, it was not the same for the guys. Though Saif had invited both Shahrukh and Salman, while SRK attended with wife Gauri, Arbaaz Khan made up for brother Salman’s absence.
