Rahul Mahajan, son of late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, will begin his quest for a bride on TV starting Monday. He will choose his bride from 15 women who were selected after much scrutiny from over 16,000 applicants from across the country. Among the 15 girls who will participate on the show, we introduce you to five of them.

Nikunj Mallik:

This 25-year-old girl is an established accessory designer. Having done her Masters in accessory design and fashion management from NIFT, she has worked with established companies like Wills Lifestyle and Lee Cooper. She wants to marry Rahul because she finds him to be a courageous man.

Harpreet Chabra:

21-yr-Harpreet from Delhi is a model and anchor by profession. She is very religious and goes to the Gurudwara everyday. Harpreet feels her nature and personality are very compatible with Rahul.

Twinkle Mukherjee:

22-year-old Twinkle is a qualified engineer from West Bengal University of Technology. She is an avid sports enthusiast, biker and a part time cricket commentator. Her reason for participating in the show is that she always wanted to marry a Rahul as ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ is her favourite film.

Rajshree Mishra:

26-yr-old Rajshree Mishra from Kolkatta is a model-cum-actress by profession. She is a member of Brahmakumari, a spiritual organisation that teaches anger management and meditation. She admires the fact that Rahul is an honest and down to earth person despite his high profile family background.

Dimpy Ganguly:

21-yr-old Dimpy gave up a lead role with a leading Bengali filmmaker to come on RDLJ to marry Rahul. Her actual name is Soumasri which means “as beautiful as the moon”, but since childhood she has had very cute dimples which got her the name Dimpy. She finds Rahul to be a very nice, friendly and clean-hearted guy.

After spending many lonely years post her breakup with Vikram Bhatt, Ameesha Patel found solace in her NRI boyfriend Kanav Puri and they were into steady relationship for the past three years. However, since past eight months, trouble has been creeping into their relationship.

The noted bollywood producer and father of actor Aamir Khan, late Tahir Hussain passed away yesterday after a cardiac arrest. He was 79 years old. According to family resources of Amir Khan he had a massive heart attack on day before and at the time of unfortunate happening Amir Khan along with Kiran was at Los Angeles and is returning back to India. Funeral is going to take place today.

His reputation in Bollywood has been established due to being producer of blockbuster movies like, ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ (1993),’Zakhmee’ (1975),’Anamika’ (1973) and’Caravan’ (1973). He also directed Aamir for the first time in his first directed movie ‘Tum Mere Ho’ in 1990. He also acted in classics like “Janam Janam Na Saath’ (1977),’ Pyar Ka Mausam’ (1969) and ‘Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai’ (1961). He is survived by his wife and two sons Aamir and Faisal and two daughters, Farhat and Nikhat.

The premiere of both ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Rann’ was held on Jaunary 28th. Vidya Balan walked in hand-in-hand with Arshad Warsi at the premiere. They created a picture perfect pair as Vidya dazzled in a rust colored saree from Sabyasachi. Abhishek Chaubey, who makes a directorial debut with this movie was also present at the premiere.

The premiere of ‘Rann’ was held in Delhi and Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined in to usher their best wishes to their “paa” Amitabh Bachchan at the premiere. Also present were Gul Panag and director Vishal Bharadwaj, who spoke to the media about his movie.

Shahrukh Khan is leaving no stones unturned to make his superhero flick ‘Ra 1’ from his production house Red Chillies Entertainment a grand one. After roping in Kareena Kapoor as the female lead, he has now his eyes set on the Hollywood action legend Jackie Chan. The production house has sent him a detailed script with the action scenes and a brief synopsis of his character and is awaiting an affirmative nod from him. Jackie is being considered for the role of a scientist who helps SRK in fighting off the bad guys.

Ra1 will be shot in Miami and Hollywood crew is being used for the film. Cinematography is by Ueli Steiger (”The Maiden Heist”), while David Benullo (”Shadow Man”) is screenwriter.

Katrina Kaif made her Bollywood debut with ‘Boom’. The film bombed at the box-office, but Katrina created stirs with her hot skin show for the flick. Nevertheless, her career soared high slowly and of late, she has refrained from much exposure in her recent films.

There was double reason for Shreyas Talpade to celebrate at Kino Cottage amidst the glamour and glitter of Bollywood fraternity and media. The occasion was his birthday as well as the pre-release party of his original debut film “The Hangman’. The party was thrown in by his better half Deepti Talpade along with producer of “The Hangman’ Bipin Patel.

‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ had created stirs 22 years back as it exuded the essence of unity and nationality of India. This year, as India completes 60 years of its Republic, the song has been re-created as ‘Phir Mile Sur’ featuring more than 60 known personalities, including actors Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla. In all, the song features 22 superstars, 18 musicians, 13 artistes and singers and 15 other known personalities. The song has been composed by jazz artists Louis and Geno Banks.

The earlier version of the song featured vocalists Bhimsen Joshi and Balamurali Krishna, sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, tabla maestros Allah Rakha and Zakir Hussain, sportsmen Narendra Hirwani and Prakash Padukone and film personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Lata Mangeshkar, Mithun Chakraborty, Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Kamal Haasan, Sharmila Tagore, Tanuja and Waheeda Rehman.

Amitabh Bachchan, who released this album, expresses his gratitude and says, “I was part of the old Mile Sur… and now yet again I am fortunate to be part of this one. We have integrated many tunes together and that’s precisely the message of this video.” Featuring in the video is well known musician Sivamani, who says, “I wanted to do something unique for this so I started playing drums on water. This has never been done by any artist.

On her Twitter page, Bollywood actress and IPL team owner Preity Zinta recounts how she got stuck in a toilet at the Delhi airport for about 10 minutes. She was there to catch her flight to Mumbai. The toilet door got jammed and finally, Preity had to jump off the wall to get out.

Recounts Preity, “Spent 10 minutes stuck in the toilet at the airport…Finally had to climb the wall and jump over… People were calling out my name. Thought I was going to die as I am claustrophobic. Pulled a muscle in my arm but did provide entertainment to all.”

“Being a tomboy when I was younger definitely helped. Trying to climb a wall is never easy. Phew! Happy to go home now,” she added.
