The Hindustan Times Brunch Dialogues event at Taj Lands End in Mumbai was all glamour and glitter as the whos who of Bollywood attended the event. Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore joined the panel discussion on The Changing Face of the Indian Heroine at the event on Friday night.
Further to that, filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Raj Kumar Gupta entered in discussion about a filmmaker’s role in portraying the female lead. Others spotted at the event were Maria Goretti, Meiyang Chang, Poorna Jagannathan, Prateik Babbar, Anu Malik, and Raageshwari.
Throughout the event, Kareena Kapoor referred to Sharmila Tagore as “my mother-in-law”. When she first made this address, the panel’s moderator, Vir Sanghvi, adviser, HT Media, asked her if she really said that. At this, Kareena blushed and said proudly: “Of course!” Sharmila looked no less proud. “Saif is very lucky to be getting married to Kareena,” she said.
Madhu Mantena, the producer of ‘Ghajini’ was in dire need of a companion when he broke up with his nine year long mate Nandana Sen. The reason for the split is being cited as Nandana’s plans to move to and settle in New York and the producer’s wish to have a family and settle down here.
Nevertheless, the producer has again found his love, this time in Mugdha Godse. Apparently, Mugdha too was single after her breakup with boyfriend Mithun Purandare. The two got introduced at a party, exchanged numbers and have now headed towards a romantic relationship.
Meanwhile, Mugdha has found her new love not only in Madhu Mantena, but also in colours on her canvas. Yes, the girl is trying her hand at painting and says, “I have been painting for almost a year now. Painting is a good way to take my thoughts and creativity forward. Acting and dancing are the arts we are always involved in, but painting is something new I am trying my hand at.”
They gave our industry a blockbuster film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ to be cherished for decades to come. Talking about Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, the duo have worked together in a number of films like ‘Saajan’ and ‘Dil Tera Aashiq’. The two came together once again on the sets of ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5’ and the audience would swear by the fact that they still look great together.
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif came up on the sets of Jhalak to promote their ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ which released this Independence Day. While Katrina was her usual quiet self, Salman and Madhuri had great fun together. Salman even used a catapult and aimed at Madhuri’s derriere just the way he did in Didi Tera Deewana, and the duo danced together to Pehla Pehla Pyaar from the blockbuster HAHK.
After sometime, Katrina Kaif also joined the two stars. Salman joined his ex- girlfriend while she showed her moves on her superhit item number ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’.
The gossip columns have been abuzz these days with the growing closeness of our desi hottie Mallika Sherawat and Hollywood star Antonio Banderas. It all started during the Cannes Film Festival when Mallika and Antonio spent a lot of time together partying, clubbing, and getting cozy at coffee shops. Mallika even posted a pic of hers on her Twitter account with the Spanish hunk at the billionaire Paul Allen’s yacht party, held during Cannes Film Festival.
Their growing closeness apparently led to cracks in the 15 year long marriage of Antonio and wife Melanie Griffith. Melanie got furious with all these rumours. She stayed back in LA during Cannes and did not attend the festival.
However, Mallika’s close friends confirm that the two have developed a liking for each other but they are nothing more than close friends. Her stylist friend Ivan Bitton was quoted saying, “Antonio was very attracted to Mallika and you could see that from the video. He grabbed her from behind, and he was really into the dance. I could hear him telling her how beautiful she was…”
Meanwhile, Mallika Sherawat reacted to all this with a note of surprise. She recently tweeted a photo of the report from a newspaper, and wrote “Really?!”
We predict that there is still more to come because the actress has kept in touch with Antonio since and is even planning a short holiday with him in Paris for which she leaves on August 7.
Katrina Kaif tried hard enough to convince the media that she had no plans or celebration for her birthday this year, but somehow the gossip columns managed to get the details of her secret bash with ex-boyfriend Salman Khan.
Apparently, Salman had planned a special party for her at his Bandra residence where only a few close friends were invited. And when Katrina left her house on the night before her birthday, she first posed for the photographers outside her residence and then politely requested them not to follow her.
She then went to Salman Khan’s house in Bandra where apparently a quiet birthday bash was planned for her which was a very private affair with only a few close family members and friends from industry. Katrina Kaif made sure that nobody took notice of her while entering the house.
However, Katrina had earlier emphasised that she had no birthday plans and would be busy dubbing for her upcoming thriller at Yash Chopra’s studio all day long.

Gossip columns are going red with Veena Malik’s open display of closeness with filmmaker Hemant Madhukar who is directing a 3D horror flick titled Mumbai 125. Veena is playing the lead in the film opposite her alleged ex-flame Ashmit Patel.
First Veena was spotted getting cosy with the director at a pub. When those pictures started doing rounds, she rubbished the rumors saying, “If sitting and dining with someone is equal to flirting with him or dating him, it is nothing but rubbish. I share a good work relationship with Hemant, and I also know his wife. So all these reports are baseless.”
If that was not controversial enough, there are a fresh set of pictures out which show Veena in a blue bikini enjoying a beer by the pool side of a resort while Madharkar in a bathrobe sits by her side, admiring her. There are yet more of them where the director is shopping bikini for Veena and yet another where the two are walking hand in hand.

Rakhi Sawant, the actress known for her big assets and a bigger mouth, has once again proved that she knows no restraints when it comes to opening her mouth. After giving free advices to Rahul Gandhi and Baba Ramdev, the girl now turns to Kareena Kapoor to advise her about whom she should marry and why she should do item numbers.
At the Radio Mirchi Awards 2012, Rakhi said: “I love Kareena and I am really happy that Kareena will get readymade kids. No, Kareena! You deserve a better husband! You deserve Shahid Khan.” She was then corrected by the reporters that he is Shahid Kapoor.
Rakhi said: “Khan, Kapoor, they’re the same na… I am saying it from the very first day that Shahid Kapoor is the best! He is a bachelor and she (Kareena) is a spinster! You know, I like Saif, but his kids are so old!”
Rakhi Sawant even had an opinion about Kareena not signing for item number. “I didn’t like the fact that Kareena said that she doesn’t like the tag of an item girl; then why did she do an item number.
She’s my favourite actress, I love her! But why doesn’t she like being called an item girl? Even Aishwarya Rai, who is the best actress ever in Bollywood, has done item numbers, even Katrina is doing them, so she (Kareena) should understand,” she said.
This was not all for Rakhi Sawant at the award function. She even had a war of eyes with Mika Singh. When Mika walked the red carpet and spotted Rakhi talking to the media persons, he went ahead and joined Rakhi Sawant to pose for the photos. Initially, Rakhi did not object, but when Mika tried to get too close to her and even touched her, Rakhi cast a glaring glance at him. Thereafter, Mika kept himself in check.
Well, it is high time, Rakhi paid more attention to her sinking career than her publicity gimmicks!!

Rumors started picking up when Sonal came in as a guest and a special one at Neil’s house party. The two were also spotted together at the recent Dheeraj Deshmukh-Honey Bhagnani’s sangeet. Lately, they were spotted enjoying each other’s company at a nightspot in Kala Ghoda over the weekend. They both came together at the lounge bar and were there for a considerable time. According to the onlookers, they were very comfortable together as they laughed and chatted away. Earlier in the evening both the actors were spotted at a fashion event in the suburbs though they did not arrive or leave the venue together. It appears that the two hooked up later and drove down to south Mumbai for a night out.
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has landed into troubled waters. The actor got into a scuffle with South African NRI businessman Iqbal Sharma, who is also the director general and CEO of the Trade, Industry & Investments of South Africa, and was also arrested Wednesday along with his teo friends, Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi. He was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly assaulting Sharma in the Taj Mahal Hotel around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Saif has now been released on bail and complains that his friends, including girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, were abused and he was assaulted.
“There was an ugly incident last night (Tuesday) where my friends and the ladies with us were abused and I was assaulted. I was hit and I defended myself,” Saif said in a statement.
Now, Saif has also filed a complaint and says, “I have been to the police station to answer the requirements of law as I am a law abiding citizen. I have also filed a complaint about what happened last night and I am confident justice will be done.”
“I have seen the interviews given on TV and they look like decent people and I cannot believe that the same people were so aggressive the night before and the lies that they are saying about me with such straight faces. I think they have the CCTV footage in the restaurant that will prove everything.
I hope the media is able to remain impartial while the matter is being decided. I don`t think any gentleman would have behaved differently,” he added.
