The music launch of Vikram Bhatt’s ‘1920’ was held in a grand way with almost everyone present at the occasion including Anjorie Alagh, Adah Sharma, Kailash Kher, Vikram Bhatt, Sameer, Pandit Jasraj, Rakhi Sawant, and Rajneesh Duggal. However, the absence of music composer for the film, Adnan Sami, was conspicuously felt.
The reason for Adnan’s absence was that he has been hospitalized due to a bad case of food poisoning which he suffered a couple of days back. Adnan really regretted missing the opportunity but is fine now and on a way to speedy recovery.

It was an entirely different and one of its kind music launch. Talking about the music launch of ‘Rock On!’ this Monday night at Infinity Mall on Andheri Link Road in north-west Mumbai, the audience was mesmerized by the live performance of Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and Farhan Akhtar.
The show couldn’t get better when Farhan Akhtar himself took to the mike and rocked the venue with two foot-tapping numbers from the movie. Farhan plays the role of the lead singer in the movie and sings as many as five out of nine songs in it.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, ‘Rock On!! marks the debut of Farhan Akhtar and Prachi Desai. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shahana Goswami and Luke Kenny who were all present for the launch. Proud father Javed Akhtar along with Big Music representative Kulmeet Makkar unveiled the music album.
“We have worked with Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and Javed saab earlier. So the process of creating music for ‘Rock On’ was all the more fun. It is a youth-oriented film. The music needed a distinct sound, keeping in mind contemporary appeal along with melodious tracks,” said Ritesh Sidhwani on the occasion.

With India’s leading production house, Excel Entertainment, producer-director Farhan Akhtar marks his debut as an actor in ‘Rock On’. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Sahana Goswami and Luke Kenny in the lead. The film is about a rock band which was the greatest in the country but they never make it and how a long drawn reunion helps them achieve their musical ambitions. Bollywood’s principal independent PR agency Dale Bhagwagar Media Group is handling the media exercises for the film.
Writing on Facebook, Farhan says,
“I am really impressed by how many people recall the guitar riff from Lakshya in the Rock On!! track. The riff was stuck in my mind since first recorded in 2004 and we thought this would be the best outlet for it. As the lyrics say “Ye mauka nahin milega dubaara’.”
He adds,
“Rock has very rarely been served up in Indian films without the necessary “filmi sound” embellishments. With this movie, we are attempting to push the envelope and take Rock… Real Rock… and make it the basis for the soundtrack. It’s been an amazing experience putting it together and if the journey was this exciting, I’m sure the destination will be fantastic! The music will be out in mid-July.”
Luke Kenny comments,
“I am sure everyone will enjoy watching it as much as we had a blast making it…this is India’s first Rock N Roll Hindi film so wait and see.”
As ‘Rock On’ hits theatres on August 29 this year, what we are waiting for is the debut of the cute TV bahu Prachi Desai making it on the big screens.

All, all in all of Bollywood was presented at the music launch of ‘Singh is Kinng’ starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. During the music launch of the movie that is shot upto 80% is shot in Australia celebrities including Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Neha Dhupia and others were presented. Amita Pathak, the daughter of Kumar Mangat, is making a debut with his film ‘Haal-e-Dil’. The movie is directed by Ajay’s brother Anil Devgan. Mangat is a close friend and former business manager of Ajay Devgan. No wonder Ajay is taking keen interest in the film.
He was involved deeply in the script and also the auditions for the male lead of the film before Nakuul Mehta and Adhyayan Suman were finalized. Now, to add star value to ‘Haal-e-Dil’ (which features only newcomers) Ajay and Kajol along with Nakuul and Amita have now shot a song for the movie at Filmistan Studios. The song called ‘Oye Hoye’ is a typical Punjabi number and has Kajol in a colorful salwar-kameez while Ajay is dressed in coat and pants.
Hope this special song does some magic for the film at the box office!

As always, Zee Cine Awards was held at London this Sunday amidst much glamour and glitter. What made news was the absence of Salman Khan’s performance. Though the reason for Salman’s backing out was officially cited as high fever and injury, the real reason was that Salman had a problem with his choreographer Ganesh Hegde. So, the Moranis replaced Ganesh with a choreographer called Rajesh. When Salman saw Rajesh’s choreographed act on Friday afternoon, he was shocked and deeply upset at this second hand treatment. He returned the cheque and agreement the same night and then finally Zee had to perform with Shah Rukh, Upen Patel, Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena, and Jay Sean. Salman’s girlfriend Katrina who was already in London on Thursday performed solo.

Sonu Nigam has some female following, must say. After the incident in South Africa where four female fans intruded his privacy while he was working out in a gym, this one had a female rush to the dias and attempt to kiss him when he was performing at Andheri Sports Complex on Sunday night. When the security guards tried to pull her away from Sonu, she scratched the singer on his neck leaving a prominent scar there.
How much Sonu enjoyed is for you to guess, but incidentally because of this scar, Sonu had to postpone the photo shoot of his new album for 20 days.
