Producer Boney Kapoor may not have done anything for wife Sridevi’s relaunch into silver screen but he definitely has some big plans for his 24-year old son Arjun Kapoor’s launch which he plans in all probability by the next year. Though nothing has come in clear terms from Boney’s side he had earlier been quoted saying that Arjun has learnt the ropes of filmmaking as he has worked with Karan Johar and assisted Nikhil Advani in ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and was not all set and prepared to face the camera.

Before this, there was a buzz that Boney could launch Arjun in the sequel of ‘Mr. India’ but Boney denied the rumors saying that the plot is still being worked on. Insiders are also saying that Boney is keen on casting Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha opposite Arjun.

Arjun is Boney Kapoor and his first wife Mona Shourie Kapoor’s son and was at one time linked to Salman Khan’s sister Arpita. Whatever be the project, one thing is for sure that Boney Kapoor would definitely make sure that the Bollywood launch of Arjun turns out to be a big and grand one!!!

The much-awaited big budgeted film ‘Robot’ marked its music launch at a suburban five star in Mumbai with the honor of having two superstars of the Indian film industry – Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikant sharing the dais after a long long time.

The two iconic stars were all praises for each other. Rajnikanth said, ‘Amitabh is my inspiration, role model and guru. I have always valued his advice while taking important decisions. We have done so many films together like ANDHA KANOON, HUM, GIRAFTAR, and I can never forget the love, affection and care he showered on me’

A humble Big B too praised Rajni saying, ‘Rajnikanth is truly a son-of-the soil who is admired and loved by every Indian. I am just so honored and happy that I met a personality like Rajnikanth. And I am so happy that I was able to spend some time of my life with him and learn so much from him. His simplicity, honesty, and down-to-the-earth nature has always impressed me. I admire him because of his tender heart and humility. He is so grounded despite the adulation and fame he has enjoyed throughout his career.’

‘Many a times there were some very tough decisions to be taken, at that point I always remembered him as a colleague and a very dear friend and tried to think what Rajni would have done if he had been in this particular situation and I’ve always found a capable answer, despite of the tumult circumstances & stressful situations,’ he further added.

Despite controversies and boycotts, the 11th edition of the IIFA Weekend kick started in Sri Lanka with the host country rolling out the red carpet for glamorous Bollywood actors. The ceremony has been boycotted by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce as a mark of protest against the alleged mistreatment of the Tamils in the country. Bollywood biggies like the Bachchans and SRK are also giving the extravaganza a miss. While Big B is currently shooting in Gujarat, Abhishek is in Istanbul for a film shoot and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai is in Paris to promote a brand. The noted bollywood producer and father of actor Aamir Khan, late Tahir Hussain passed away yesterday after a cardiac arrest. He was 79 years old. According to family resources of Amir Khan he had a massive heart attack on day before and at the time of unfortunate happening Amir Khan along with Kiran was at Los Angeles and is returning back to India. Funeral is going to take place today.

His reputation in Bollywood has been established due to being producer of blockbuster movies like, ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ (1993),’Zakhmee’ (1975),’Anamika’ (1973) and’Caravan’ (1973). He also directed Aamir for the first time in his first directed movie ‘Tum Mere Ho’ in 1990. He also acted in classics like “Janam Janam Na Saath’ (1977),’ Pyar Ka Mausam’ (1969) and ‘Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai’ (1961). He is survived by his wife and two sons Aamir and Faisal and two daughters, Farhat and Nikhat.

There had been rumors that Bipasha Basu was kicked out of ‘Raavan’ because her role as Mandodari opposite Abhishek Bachchan was posing a threat and overshadowing other female characters in the film.

Now, Bipasha speaks up saying that these rumors are baseless and her leaving the film was an amicable decision between her and the director.

“They were all rumors and only rumors. I am not a part of ‘Raavan’. I was initially a part of ‘Raavan’ but Mani sir thought he couldn’t do justice to my role… as to whatever he had promised me would definitely be in conflict with the actual story of the film once it is shot, ” said Bipasha adding, “So he took a call instead of being in an embarrassing position later on. He decided to tell me that and amicably we decided that it should not be done…hopefully we’ll work together soon. So now there’s going to be no Mandodari in the film.”

Bipasha spoke up at a press meet for All The Best in New Delhi on Saturday, October 10, 2009. This Yash Raj production has been directed by Rohit Shetty and stars Fardeen Khan, Mugdha Godse, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn, besides Bips.

About the film, Bipasha revealed, “‘All The Best’ is a situational comedy and a total entertainer. It deals with a lot of mistaken identities, people lying and getting into trouble. My character is called Jahnvi who is married to Ajay in the film. She is a straightforward girl who is trying to run her life and family by looking after a totally rundown gym. She cons people to join the gym by lying because by the looks of it, nobody wants to join it.”

Abhay Deol’s career as an actor is not really flying high, so instead he has ventures into the arena of film production. His banner is named ‘Forbidden Films’, rather an interesting name, weird enough to give birth to noble ideas in one’s mind.

Speaking of the unusual name ‘Forbidden Films’ for his company, Abhay said: “In my career I have worked in films with unusual scripts by first-time directors. Not many Bollywood actors would want to do such films. Hence I chose the name (Forbidden Films).”

Anyways, under this banner, the actor-turned-producer plans to launch his first home production ‘Junction’ that will be directed by debutant Atul Sabrawal. The movie will go on floors the next year.

“I have decided to branch out to other medium of film making. I am not giving up acting. But, will not be facing the camera for films which I produce,” he said on Thursday.

Abhay, at present is in Goa for the premiere of his film ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’.

The premiere of Sanjay Chel’s comedy ‘Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam’ was held in Mumbai admidst much glamour and glitter.

Paresh Rawal is playing the character of Emperor Akbar in the film. The story of the film revolves around a drama troupe – Kalakar Natak Company that aims to produce socially relevant, thought provoking plays, but the irony is that nobody understands it. Music director Anu Malik has composed the music for the film.

“It’s a different film. Risk is also there in the sense that in my career I am not such a big personality, whom hits and flops can affect. I believe I am very small past of the industry and the most important thing is that when I see myself I shouldn’t feel I could have done better,” said Rahul Bose, the lead actor of the film.

This is the latest in the chain of news to Shilpa Shetty turning producer with S2 Global Productions. Her debut production would be an action comedy to be directed by Manish Jha. Shilpa had searched for the script for as long as six months to giver her final nod.

The script is an original one, without any influence from Hollywood script and has girls in central action roles. Shilpa is playing one of the lead roles and the grapevine has it that Bipasha Basu has also been finalized for a parallel role.

Shilpa has reportedly roped in Hollywood stunt director Tom Delmar to choreograph the action scenes and train the actors. The movie will be co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures.

Arshad Warsi is all geared up for his first home production which is go on floors in London in July. The film to be directed by Kabeer Kaushik is titled ‘I Believe In Angels…’

Arshad had a tough time finding the leading lady for his film coz all the big heroines were apprehensive of being paired with Arshad in the lead role. Arshad, no doubt, is a very talented actor, but he has not been able to make it big with lead roles. Finally, the chase ended with Dia Mirza who not only suits the role but was also too glad to be a part of it.

Talking about the film, Dia said,

“First of all, I’ve always enjoyed Arshad’s performances and it’s an honor to be in a film to be produced by him. Then when I heard the script I simply fell in love with my role and the script. Every character is so beautifully written, I’m sure Arshad’s first production is going to turn out to be very special.”

Dia plays a very sweet angelic character in the film and says,

“I’ve that image. And I suit it. Though I’m not bound by the sweet image I don’t mind being perceived as ideal for angelic roles at a time when every second girl enjoys playing the wicked one.”

The Sexy Shetty Sisters have stepped into an all new arena now. For those of you who are in the dark, the Bollywood sex kittens have started their own production house and are planning to have two films on the floors before the end of the year. But don’t you worry, they have Raj Kundra to help and guide them. Let it be known that Shilpa’s boyfriend aka lover, has already produced a film titled ‘Stranger’.

Yes, confirming the news, the younger sis pours in, “Yes, we are coming out with our own production house probably by next year. It’s still in the planning stage.” Shamita seems to have evaporated from the silver screen these days. Except for her promotional video for ‘Hari Puttar’, she has hardly met eye-to-eye with camera. Nonetheless, she blames this too on their production plans and says, “This is also a reason why you are not seeing much of me on screen. Right now I am concentrating more on my production project.” Well, this means that the two sisters will no more ask for money coz, now they are here to pay our Bollywood!
