The promotions of Anurag Basu’s much awaited ‘Barfi’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz started with the launch of its first theatrical trailer at Cinemax in Mumbai on Monday, July 2.

Before the launch of trailer, Priyanka tweeted on her Twitter handle: “Launching the #Barfi! Trailer tonight…..butterflies! it’s a very very special film..thank u @basuanurag for making me jhilmil.”

Ranbir plays a deaf and mute character in the film while Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a mentally challenged girl. Ileana plays the love interest of Ranbir and is the narrator in the film. The music is by Pritam and the movie is produced by UTV Motion Pictures.

The stars enjoyed a lot during the trailer launch and Ranbir could be seen making funny faces at the event. “Whatever disability you see right now, you will not feel in the film. We are normal characters. PC (Priyanka) is playing an autistic girl in the film, but she is like this cute puppy dog who you will fall in love with. You will not see the disability,” he said at the event.

Talking about his character in the film, Ranbir said that in the movie his character’s “name is actually Murphy but because he is deaf and mute, he says it as Barfi”.

Priyanka Chopra describes her character as the most lovable one she has ever played. She hopes she has justified director Anurag Basu’s vision. “I thought Jhilmil will be difficult. Initially, it was difficult,” said Priyanka now that “my heart is with Jhilmil”.”It is a very special character and I hope you like it. It is my most endearing character,” she said.

Romy Shay is the latest discovery by the internationally renowned producer Rishi Rich, who has had an important hand in the success of stars like Britney Spears, Madonna and Jay Sean. Romy Shay makes his dream debut in the Bollywood world with ‘Bollywood Star’ being his first single which features none other than one of the the sexiest ladies of Bollywood, Shilpa Shetty.

Shilpa got to hear his song for the first time at a family gathering and she immediately expressed her desire to be a part of it. Elaborating on the music track Shilpa says, ”I love the track and that is why I decided to be a part of it. What excites me the most is that it has been sung by Romy Shay who is extremely talented and hard working and I’ve said this before – Romy’s the rockstar… I’m the Bollywood star and Rishi Rich is the star maker! It’s a star endeavour.”

Romy’s management Mumbai Rouge managed to secure world famous director Andy Morahan to produce and direct the video, whose credits include working with Micheal Jackson, George Michael and Guns and Roses. Wardrobe and dresses were by D&G and Julien Tridevi with helping hand from Reebok.

Mallika Sherawat came across a big blow when her much ambitious and talked about project ‘Hisss’ bombed at the box-office but the sex kitten still has a few Hollywood projects to be released soon and if the pics of the same are to be gone by, her forthcoming ‘Love, Barack’ is supposed to cash in on her oomph appeal.

You no longer need to wait to learn about salesman skills of  Ranbir Kapoor and need only to wait for Shimit Amin’s new comedy “Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year” movie that is going to be released on, December 11.  What he is doing, one can judge from the music video for a music number from the movie “Pocket Mein Rocket”. After Karan Johar gave in the first look of his forthcoming ‘Kurbaan’ on Twitter, he released the trailer of the film along with ‘Wake up Sid’. This Rensil D’Silva’s directed film is set against the backdrop of global terrorism and stars the hot real-life couple Saifeena.

The story of the film revolves around Kareena Kapoor who has to rush back to her home town Delhi from US after her father suffers a heart attack. Delhi makes her fall in love with Saif Ali Khan, a Delhi University Professor. Then follows marriage and the journey back to US where the couple hopes to start a settled life.

But Kareena’ world is shattered with the discovery that Ehsaan (Saif Ali Khan) is not professor but a mastermind terrorist who has used her to safeguard his cover. With Kareena discovering the truth, Ehsaan puts her under house arrest.

Next Kareena finds out that Ehsaan is plotting to hijack and bomb an aeroplane. The flight has Vivek, a high profile TV journalist who works with a news network in US, also as a passenger. Kareena battles to save the lives of innocent people, while her husband seeks mass destruction.

Rajasthan Royals had been the winning IPL team for 2008 and its joint owners, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, are leaving no stones unturned in making them the champions for this year. To motivate their team, the duo have come up with the costliest theme and team anthem and have spent close to one crore to bring it out. The music video is named Halla Bol and was released after a nice bash at a 5 star hotel few days back.

‘Halla bol’ song video was shot in Jaipur and its surroundings. The music and text for the song is given by Anand Raj Anand, and it is Ken Ghosh who directed the video. Shilpa and party danced to the song choreographed by Ahmed Khan. The song features several young artists including jumbo, chariots and horses. Reports say that the filming of the song took about 3 days. During the shoot, there were thousands of fans, who had gathered to get a glimpse of the sexy star.

Shilpa says, “Since the time we conceptualized this video, we always knew that we would shoot it in Jaipur. The entire video has a feel of historical palaces and royalty attached to it. It felt so good to shoot on our home turf.”

Speaking about the song, Shilpa said, “It (the song) has a strong Bollywood feel to it. But the IPL is an association of cricket and Bollywood. That’s the way it is meant to be.”

So, now this wrestler goes out for a music video shoot with the singers-composers Siddharth and Suhas for his forthcoming ‘Rama, The Saviour’.

Khali sang a song for Siddhartha-Suhas duo and danced as well for their music video for his film which directed by Hadi Ali Abrar and produced by Abdul Aziz Baroodgar and stars Tanushree Dutta and Sahil Khan.

Siddhartth Suhas who have given the music for the film made Khali sing a few pieces for their song “We Don’t Need” and also Khali grooved and rocked in the music video for the same song!!!

Sharmila Tagore’s daughter and Saif Ali Khan’s sis, Soha Ali Khan is so dedicated to her work that she places her commitment to the work above everything else.

Recently, she was shooting for a song sequence of Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’. The shooting went on for six days and Soha worked continuously with heavy costumes and jewellary. As a result, her legs went sore and started bleeding. However, Soha did not complain to anyone. On the sixth day, when Cinematographer Sachin Krishna tried to take a close up of Soha’s legs for the song, then the unit got to know about Soha’s dedication for her work. Kudos for the young lady from our team too!

At ‘Seena Taan Ke’, an AIDS awareness function organised in Delhi on Sunday to bring about AIDS awarenewss among truckdrivers, dizzy looking Hollywood actor Richard Gere, to make it clear that HIV can’t be passed on through a kiss, kissed first Shilpa Shetty’s hand, then hugged her, kissed her cheek, and finally bent over the surprised actress to give her a big kiss, Hollywood-style.

While Shetty laughed it off with a poised ‘yeh thoda zyaada ho gaya’ (‘this was a bit much’) to the truckdrivers, fans of the actress have expressed their ire over Hollywood actor kissing her at public event.

“It is vulgar. These things may happen in foreign countries, but not in India. He should apologise to Shilpa and the rest of the country as well,” said one of the fans.

Jiah Khan, after getting kudos for her critically acclaimed performance in ‘Nishabd’ and her video ‘Take Lite’ (sung, composed and choreographed by her), is now spending her time in London with her sister.

In London, Jiah is gearing up for her next project by getting trained in Tai Chi and Motor cycle stunts. However, Jiah is not disclosing anything about it, since she is under contract. The young lady laughs, “Hey, I’m having great fun in London. I’m just chilling out. I’m glad that my debut performance has been appreciated. Let me have some fun before I focus completely on my next film.”
