Tanisha Mukherjee

She belongs to the family of legendary film personalities. Her great grandmother was Rattan Bai while her maternal grandmother was the veteran actress Shobhna Samarth. Daughter of Tanuja and Shomu Mukherjee and younger sister of Kajol, we are talking about the hot and happening new comer, Tanishaa.

Tanisha is an actress of Bengali-Marathi descent. She was born in Mumbai on January 1st, 1978. Tanisha's paternal grandfather, Sashadhar Mukherjee was a film director and producer who had left a great achievement in the Bombay film industry and was regarded as a stalwart. Her grandmother, Sitarani Devi was the sister of the legendary Kishore Kumar, Ashok Kumar and Anoop Kumar.

Belonging to a family of prominent film personalities, films was an open option for Tanisha. She was supposed to be launched at the age of 16 opposite Hrithik but fate had other plans for her. She finally debuted in the thriller “Sshhh”. After this, she was seen in “Popkorn Khao Mast Ho Jao”. These films weren’t doing any good to Tanisha’s career in Bollywood due to the obvious comparisons between her and her sister, Kajol.

Then came “Neel N Nikki” under the Yashraj banner. The audience got to see the hot and sexy Tanishaa in lip lick with co star Uday Chopra. This grabbed immediate attention but Tanishaa failed to find the desired success in tinsel town.

Tanisha’s other films include “Tango Charlie” and “Sarkar”. In “Sarkar” she worked with Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek.

A recent venture into Tamil films, Tanishaa has done “Unnale Unnale” under director Jeeva. She will be seen in a concrete role as “Deepika” along with Vinay and Sadha. This film will also be dubbed in Telegu. “Nunya” and “One Two Three” are other forthcoming releases for Tanishaa this year.

Tanishaa is said to be currently dating actor Uday Chopra whom she met on the sets of “Neel N Nikki”. We hope she comes up with some good films really soon and touches the highs as much as her sis has.
