Director Anurag Basu came up with the strong and powerful subject in ‘Silence’, but the movie has been suffering delay due to the starry issues of the female actresses. Earlier Priyanka Chopra was supposed to play the lead role in the film, but when Asin and Katrina Kaif who were earlier chosen for equally pivotal roles in the film chose to opt out fearing that they would be sidelines with Priyanka playing the plum role, the project’s future seemed to be at dismay. It was then that Piggie Chops decided to take action as she felt that ‘Silence’ is too powerful a project to be stalled. So, she took a step which no leading actress would dare to and she decided to swap roles and go for the one which was comparatively weaker so that the project moved further.
Now, PC essays a mentally challenged person alongside Ranbir Kapoor, who enacts a deaf mute guy in the hero and director Anurag Basu intends to take Priyanka Chopra to a mental asylum to help her get into the skin of her role.
Confirming the news, Priyanka said, “I will start shooting for Anurag’s Silence in January 2011 after completing Don 2. I am preparing for my role. I need to undergo training to perform the role perfectly. I am happy to get such a challenging role, which many of my age do not get.”
Hollywood and Bollywood joined hands with each other to bring traffic to a stand still this Tuesday afternoon at Rome, Italy when Ex Miss World Aishwarya Rai and Oscar Winner Kate Winslet along with Taiwanese model Chi-ling Lin shot a commercial for Logines Watches DolceVita collection. This shoot is based on the 1960 drama La Dolce Vita (Italian for “the sweet life” or “the good life”).

‘My mother saves a lot of gold and diamond jewellery for me. I have not really looked into it. Till now, I am very happy with my jewellery,’ said Bipasha.

Rani Mukerji features on the cover of L’Officiel Magazine’s India edition for the month of July 2010 in a strap less golden color gown. She represents vintage glamour in Dolce and Gabbana. The cover says ultimate watch issue but the watch she is wearing (the same one which she wore at peepli live music launch) seems out of place. The glove and fascinator are a great addition, but Rani’s make-up doesn’t seem to match up to the Vintage Glamour theme.
Just to put in, Rani has again changed the spelling of her surname, though I doubt it will help in any way her sinking career and the toll bell signaling retirement. Spain is bubbling with the cast and crew of Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ who are there for the shoot of the first schedule of the film. Being shot in Spain, the movie will feature many of its local customs and traditions.
The ‘running of the bull’ ritual is very popular in Spain and Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay participated in it to shoot a scene for the film. Looking their handsome best in the traditional costume of red and white, the three actors ran along with a group of locals while being chased by running bulls and this scene is supposed to be one of the film’s major highlights.
Every year from July 7th-14th thousands pack into Pamplona to start Spain’s most famous bull-running fiesta to honour Navarre capital’s patron saint, San Fermin. Spain stages more than 3, 000 fiestas (festivals) each year but the seven days of bull running are the favorite in terms of spectacle and excitement.
Zoya also shot another popular custom - a tomato-throwing match where opponents douse each other in tomato pulp- with Katrina Kaif and the three male leads of the film.
Manyata Dutt helped Kangna Ranaut a lot as the actress bought a triplex penthouse apartment on the 11th floor of a Bandra building. It so happened that Kangna expressed her desire for a spacious flat to let her move her family in Sanjay Dutt’s business manager, Dharam Oberoi who in turn, asked her seek help from Manyata as she knew some builders. When Kangna made a call to Manyata, she immediately arranged for a meeting with the builders and Kangna and the deal was struck as a discounted price and easy pay option. The house has attractive facilities like swimming pool, health club facilities, and also a private lift for Miss Ranaut.
Dharam confirms, “When Kangna was searching for a flat in Bandra, Maanayata stepped in and sorted it out for her; plus got her a good deal. The deal is final and the flat will be ready by next year. It’s one of the poshest buildings in that area. She’s really working hard on the payments and plans to move in by next year.”
A grateful Kangna says, “I was looking for a bigger flat as I want my family to live with me. My sister is getting married next year and the 3-BHK flat I stay in, is going to be too small for us. Maanayata has helped me get a good deal.”
Now, Kangna did not hesitate in showing her gratitude to Manyata who is pregnant now. When she was in Dubai, she purchased a lot of gifts for expected mother, baby clothes, toys and maternity clothes from Marks & Spencer.

No questions to the fact that Saif Ali Khan is bowled over by his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor who happens to be the style diva of Bollywood, but when it comes to his kids, Chhote Nawab has his priorities defined. He flew for London to spend with his kids Sara and Ebrahim, who were holidaying in London with their mother Amrita Singh.
